Thank you, Nicole!🥰 This was very useful. It's good to learn why certain actions don't work with certain wheels. I was struggling thinking it was all me.😳
My wheels make a drrrr-sound followed by a thud, if I try sliding turns on my floor... The thud at the end is usually me falling... lol Love and light from Norway!
For the record, I love Fred. :) Thank you for this! I have the worst time turning around as it is. My gummy wheels are super grippy on the pavement. I may invest in a pair of harder wheels or hybrids to see if that's easier. Thanks for assuring me that it's not just me. :)
Glad you straightened that out and settled the matter with what to do outside with these three turns lifting the skate or not. I have been working at the rink (you should hear us argue about this subject) using indoor wheels of course with the three turns (still can't do the thing but I am trying, Its just having that back leg off the ground) scary. And of course outside I use zen Sonars. I am thankful you keep making these videos at trying to do these turns. Its very encouraging.
Question: is it harder to do spins with gummi wheels? Cuz Im wondering if my problem is the wheels or just my lack of practice... I loosened the trucks and that helped a bit.
I find outdoor wheels are too sticky for indoor turns. I have fundaes which are more hybrid and have more rounded edges that make the slide a lot smoother. Skate on, skater!
@@ThatNicoleFiore Ah, so I’d have to get the wheels mounted. Are there any skates you recommend that I can start with as a beginner that aren’t to traditional looking? Something semi-fashionable? Or do you know of any local skate stores in California?
Great info!! Nicole, have you ever tried the Moxie Fundae wheels? I checked the stats on the Fame and compared..Fundaes are a tad wider (34mm) and a bit softer (92A)/ Fame : 32mm/95A. But they are twice as much! I'm currently in gummy 78A wheels and I feel they are way to grippy on asphalt to do certain things. I want to try a small, harder wheel, but afraid that 92 and 95 would be too hard for asphalt?
For anyone who is starting out and/or trying to figure out skate wheels, here is my experience. Having skated for a couple years now, I find myself drawn to 95a/98a wheels for rink floors, and 84a for outdoor skating. I have Fundae wheels but I don’t like them, they are too hard for outdoors and too soft for indoors (for me). I also need a spacer washer for my particular plate, which is frustrating. I think Fundaes are the answer to “if I only buy one set of wheels for all surfaces, what should I get?” They are not efficient wheels for my skate needs. Fame wheels are my preferred indoor wheel, I like their narrow width. I find them slicker than their durometer rating indicates. These wheels slip like nothing else I’ve tried (I’m not advanced enough to upgrade to Roll-line or Komplex artistic wheels … yet.) Rollerbones Team wheels at 98a are for artistic skating (and they are a touch sticky). I also have 95a wider wheels for Derby and find them the best compromise between go and stop 😆. If you have some skate friends, try borrowing wheels to test before buying a set, it could save you a bunch of money! I borrowed some 92a/93a wheels from a Derby buddy and I couldn’t get them to chatter, they were just a tad too sticky. Wheels seem to be a very personal choice, highly dependent on so many factors. If only we could try them all.
@@ThatNicoleFiore thank you so much for the help you are awesome and i watch all your vids constantly im having a little trouble with my edges i feel unstable getting my outside edge any help please thank you love ya 💕
Ahhhh, Fred! He's so pretty. One of my cat's is named Fred.

Thanks for the great video. Hope you have fun skating today.
This video after a night of 3 turn practice was just what I needed. Impeccable timing, as always! Thanks!

I really love your tutorials... It adds up to your zoom classes that I'm following too! Thanks for what you do! 😘
Hi love your videos, what wheels did you just put on your skates?
Currently I have Roll Line Helium, but in this video it’s Atom Pulse ♥️

Thanks again for a great tutorial. I still can’t do them but my mind is getting used to the idea! Hopefully I’ll get it soon ☺️

@@MakerOfChase I can't afford fundaes but Ill but a little less dense indoor wheel so it works for both. Thank you!
@@staz6757 my first wheels were sonar zen, they aren't too sticky or too hard and they won't break the bank
How do you find the Suregrip fame wheels outdoors? I'm trying to find a wheel that I can dance on outside.
Thanks for this video! Can you please link the gray skates you’re wearing in this video?
You’re welcome! I don’t have a link to them, but they are Harlick boots!!

Can you slide outdoor wheels outside or do you have to jump it a bit thank you.
It kind of depends on the road and the weather, but I typically have to hop it just a bit!
