Virtuoso performance. Exquisite in all respects. Superb sound engineering and lighting set a new standard of excellence. IMO this is among the finest classical guitar videos on UA-cam.
As a musician and a craftsman, I like this video a lot. Seeing the details of the fine construction and the masterful playing at the same time is such a great idea.
thanks for doing this! i've always wanted to hear the impressions guitarists have of the guitars they demonstrate on the vids from guitarsalon, siccas, etc. Great playing as always!
Stunning! What a way to start my day! All the better for having experienced this amazing musician! Thank you 🙏 P.S. I just listened to the selections again and I really enjoyed the sounds of the Marcus Dominelli guitar. Deep and strong!
Loved what you did here playing 9 caprices on 9 incredible guitars along with the brief commentary on each guitar! It was fun reading about each instrument while listening to their unique sound incredibly demonstrated to perfection! Bravo!
@@DrewHendersonGuitar, yes, indeed. Drew, we have a nice guitar department down here in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. I can't help it, a cedar top guitar always gets my preference. I would take the second guitar (Jeff Sigurdson ). I also like the romantic guitar (Mark Usherovich) very much. Maple is another very attractive tonewood. Apparently, Canada has many good luthiers ... .
Beautiful playing and a fantastic presentation of guitars ranging from very good to fantastic... I would have hard time to tell which one I liked best, but I think Blackwell would lead the list followed by both Usherovichs (the small one a bit outside the game) and Miranda as third; but in truth it's almost not possible to arrange these three or four (including Jeff Sigirdson) into a linear good to better scale... They are all great and a bit different. One could be easily very happy with any of them...
What a fun video, beautiful playing and work! My favorites were the Blackwell and the last Sigurdson, then right after maybe Mark’s guitar and Joshia’s. What was experimental about Sigurdson in the design, by the way? Maybe balsa instead of nomex?
The last Sigurdson is Cedar/balsa/cedar double-top. I ordered that same guitar a couple years ago, it is finally ready, Jeff will be shipping it this week! So excited about it! If you want to hear other skilled guitarists playing it, check out Yeram Yoon on UA-cam. He is also playing Sigurdson's cedar/balsa/cedar. Sounds fantastic!
Hi Evan! Thanks, you liked my own guitars the best. The last guitar was the first balsa core Sigurdson had made. He didn’t put much effort into the looks, but man the first time I heard it I knew it was a winner. I have an balsa core 8 string now by him with all the bells and whistles, will post something with that guitar soon.
I like most the 7 blackwell, then the 5 usherovich, then the 9 sigurdson, then the 4 dominelli, the 8 bernabe, the 2 sigurdson, the 6 de miranda. The 1 de jonge more potential but not yet at the top, the 3 usherovich romantic is another style of guitar.
Awesome vid! I can't help but mention that it should be a G natural in the bass at 4:15. Shouldn't it? The G# drove me crazy LOL! Love all the caprices brother!
tous les caprices que tu nous as présentés, wahou !!! maestro Drew nous a fait une magnifique petite démonstration. vous êtes des sources d'inspiration et d'admiration.
Great video Drew! A love letter to guitars. Great production. All the guitars sounded great. One thing that comes through: The player makes a huge difference compared to the guitar. I say this as a luthier who recognizes differences in the guitars. Bravo, really.

All guitars sound great in the hands of an excellent player. Congratulations Mr. Henderson for the idea and your playing on all your videos.
A beautiful presentation all around -- the music, playing, guitars, audio, videography, everything.

1. Caprice no. 1, de Jonge (0:12). 2. Caprice no. 4, Sigurdson (2:25). 3. Caprice no. 3, Usherovich (3:35). 4. Caprice no. 2, Dominelli (5:14). 5. Caprice no. 33, Usherovich (6:21). 6. Caprice no. 15 De Miranda (7:45). 7. Caprice no. 7, Blackwell (9:05). 8. Caprice no. 29, Bernabe (10:51). 9. Caprice no. 36, Sigurdson (11:43)
thank you maestro 🙏
drew you're god damn fantastic, you and david russell are imo the best guitarrists alive and I look FOWARD to see your carrer! thank you
Thumbs up for the thumbnail!
Thank you! It was hard work cutting off all those rosettes! The luthiers weren't happy.
@@DrewHendersonGuitar 🤣
@@DrewHendersonGuitar no worries! , we are fine.!!
You are correct in saying the Sigurdson has a nice woody sound to it. Very nice guitar!
The playing is truly inspiring. I am fascinated with tonal colors produced here, the guitars are great too.

What a panorama of fantastic guitars wonderfully played and described. Thanks a lot, Genius Drew

Thank you very much! It was a fun little project, and gave me a chance to do a little something different.
Roberto de Miranda is my favorite. It sounds more traditional to me which is the sound I appreciate. Very well filmed and performed!
Thank you. DeMiranda is a great builder, very mysterious, and hard to get a hold of! The craftsmanship, aesthetic and sound are all top notch.

Great video! My ears liked guitars #1 and #7 best, but they all have one important thing in common: the INCREDIBLE playing of Mr Henderson. Bravo!
Dear Sir, it’s wonderful ! Maraviloso

Stunningly brilliant. So refined. Than you for posting.
The intro is super!! Beautiful!!
is there a word in English to describe how amazingly clean his guitar sound is?
Filthy good
Thanks!
What a treat! Thank you Drew. Beautiful playing as usual. Love all the guitars; though I have to go with Martin Blackwell as my favorite!🙏
absolutely wonderful, I like the first one best

4:17 The little motif on the top strings sounds just like a harpsichord, or is it just me?
I thought this too. This guitar stood out for me on many levels.
