I bought the same SGS A-Pillars for my Focal Flax 3-way as I was following your F150 build last summer. I was really impressed with the quality and fitment, and factory-finish look. Well worth the price! Thanks for doing this review.
While I love your builds, many of us don't have the time, $$$ and/or shop to pull them off. Custom upgrades like this help the rest of us stay in the game
I think each grill design is badass in their own way but I would choose the exposed speaker one but with that I would have a tinted front windshield to prevent UV damage
Great question. It depends on the speakers, vehicle, and customer preference. For us, we found out clients enjoy off-axis more than on-axis in this particular vehicle. It provides more width and depth to the sound stage.
i thinking of upgrading my car speakers, but i wondering if i will need to also upgrade my cars infotainment system in order to get value from the new speakers or not. i have 2022 nissan sentra sr - it the 8in display with bose
I’d love to find a car audio specific 16/4 OFC highly flexible twisted stranded speaker cable for my door tweeters and in-door mid bass. Can you tell me why I can’t seem to find this on the market anywhere? Even a 14/4 in the market would be even more awesome, do you agree?
Not our grilles on these pillars. We ran many tests to find out how small / big the holes needed to be to ensure we did not degrade the sound quality. It’s a very fine line, so something to pay attention to if you develop your own grilles / pillars
Yes, like most all aftermarket parts. If you want something more uncommon it's likely to be a one off and you would need to build yourself or have a shop make it one of a kind.
@@PhiMobileSounds Sounds Good Stereo doesn't offer pillars for 99-07 Silverado\Tahoe which is probably one of the MOST common vehicles for audio upgrades, yet they have products for Chevrolet SSR! Lol
@@Mr_Ruhl We have speaker adapters for the 2019+ GMC Trucks. These happen to fit other vehicles, like a SSR. But when it comes to pillars, we only offer them for select vehicles. So it’s not a product category we will expand on unless we see a vehicle that requires them that we want to develop entirely systems for.
The A Pillars are for a Ford right now(rentals), and are from Nashville, with a price tag of ~1500$ . Here is why! (VS speaker pods for about $20-150 that are articulating and can be mounted with much better imaging.) I have a pretty good (long, sorry) question for you or any other viewers, my new car's head unit doesent have RCA output on it, i have heard about and done some research and watched your previous video about LOC, is it better for the audio to just go with LOC or to swap my head unit? I want to know if it's not much of a difference, bc if it's not then I'll just install a LOC, but if its worth it more then new head unit. Sorry it's a long question but also I have a 12 inch 600W sub with a 1200 W amp, not sure if any of that matters when determining this question, but I also plan on getting newer door speakers for the mid range
Hello, I am looking into getting the AudioControl D-6.1200 to run a custom 3-way active in my 94 civic and I have a couple of questions. Firstly, would I just have one set of RCA's that run from the Front Audio outs on my aftermarket Head-unit to the Front RCA's on the audiocontrol and then run the speaker wires to each speaker? Second, would I be able to adjust gains per channel so I can run each individual speaker safely, example my woofers at 125W & my mids at 50W? My system would compose of Stereo Integrity TM65 Woofers, either Morel or Focal 3" mids, and the Stereo Integrity TM25 Tweeter (Will upgrade this in the future). And if it matters my Head-unit is a Sony DSX-GS80 Thanks!
It doesn't, but I'm sure if you had questions about the SoundsGoodStereo one they would assist. The F150 is just the two bolts near the grab handle. Simple.
Even with 3D printing, you have to work the material if you plan to wrap it in vinyl. If you are wrapping in a material that does not show every imperfection, then you could get away with it. If wrapping in vinyl, body work is always required for a beautiful end result.
The post processing of scan files can be very time consuming and need alot of work to make it actually useful. Once you have a file it’s a good option if you don’t want to build everything out of wood and bodyfiller. Did something similar for my own pillars.
@@rangerryda8218 Yeah, in the same way as premium watches are chunks of steel and designer clothes are just fabric. Quality OEM-looking bolt-on parts built by an experienced reputable shop come at a price, no surprises here. The folks at SoundsGood also happen to have been sharing loads of useful info on their YT channel and forums for literally years for free.
It comes out to $350 from the dealership for the parts, $60 shipping costs (UPS + Supplies), $90 for Materials (Glue, Vinyl, Acrylics, Paint, etc), and then 12 hours of labor by our team at $100 per hour. If you have the skill, talent, and time to invest, you can do it yourself. But working with vinyl and achieving the results that you see will not happen on your first dozen pillar builds. It takes time to figure out the science.
Likely Focal Utopia, Mosconi Pro, and if you read the description includes the car being transported to their facility. It's not for everyone. Like literally every car audio build, there's entry level and extreme high end.

Literally found their site a few weeks ago and have been piecing together a sound system from them for my 19 F250
I like the fine grill better. Awesome Video 👍🏻👍🏻
Got that speaker system and love it!
I didn’t like the factory mounting position on my car and building custom A pillars right now
Thanks!
These are on my bucket list. I would want my grills to match the B&O F150 speaker grills. Which I believe can be done.

Interesting point!
Left hand drive and right hand drive universal gauge pillar pods. Works great if you just need to mount a small tweeter from a 2 way component setup.
very nice. i like Focal. Build in France in Saint Etienne.
Most definitely the finer mesh is a better look! The honeycomb looks like the cheap old 1980's sub grill.
The finer grille matches the factory OEM grille on the truck. Yes, a little dated but that’s what Ford decided to go with
@@SoundsGoodStereo op said the honeycomb looks dated not the finer mesh
@@GageDrums Got it, that design mimics the front grille on some of the trucks.. That's where the inspiration comes from

How do these compare to custom pillars which are angled more on axis? Is there a discernible difference in sound quality?
