    The Chewy wishlist link in the video description just goes to a Chewy shelter generic search page. The upper level link stays the same when you search this shelter and navigate the Chewy wishlist and I think it was copied in error. Instead, find the shelter wishlist page first then within that select the 3 dot "share" logo on the Chewy page and copy the link there....then post THAT link in the video description (it will say the shelter name all spelled out within the link, it will not say "search" as it does now) and I think it will deliver us to the actual wishlist like you intend. Worth checking into, thanks!

    You girls are doing the work of guys in many cases. I advise you to have back support things when lifting is involved. I thought I would be strong forever, and used to do lots of physical work that involved lifting many things. Even though I used "smart posture" as the years went on my back started being a problem. I was seeing a chiropractor weekly and he is the one that said proper back support gear is essential when a person's job requires lifting. Start early with the right gear and you won't have nearly as many back problems later on.

      Seems like scaring him had the opposite effect, closed that door even tighter lol, I can see how that might be the result.
      I would try him in a trailer like many have noted. Something about getting comfy for the ride... ironically they also often go in a freshly cleaned stall...but that probably doesn't work when u actually need a sample. Best leave him be in a clean area and find something else to do...a watched pot never boils type of thing. Fun antics tho, AL needs a belt.

    • @PurdueAlum01
      @PurdueAlum01 11 місяців тому +1

      Actually AL probably needs some suspenders... and maybe his clothes sewn onto him if he continues to ride in this manner. I mean, he could also go without clothes, I think that's fine in alien culture. Although if they found him a one piece silver romper with a high collar, I would go with that...

    That great big honkin' barn spider... was actually SMALL for its species. I had some as big as tarantulas in my barn. They thankfully mostly stayed up in the rafters, but every once in a while one would drop and land with a distinct PLOP on the barn aisle. FULL BODY SHUDDER! Augh! hahaha
    Man the trail ride with all the people and horses... makes me just SO nostalgic for my old Arab, and the trailrides we went on. I mostly rode him alone over the fields and forests of southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, but the times we got to ride with other people were so much fun! I miss it so much.

    Hey there's a hack for windshields to make the water roll off so you can better see through them...use a wax that don't have large grit in it and that's Incase the mule's windshield is plexiglass so it doesn't leave swirls anyways wax the windshield and you can do both sides which will actually clean it as well but the water will bead up and roll off leaving a clearer windshield making it much easier to see

    What a lovely new barn! With so many helpful contraptions that not everyone is blessed to have. Every time I see it, I admire it.
    But I just can't see what's with Americans and those huge, VERY HEAVY saddles! Why don't they use English saddles like everyone else? They make so much more sense, in every way.
    From 33:37 onwards for a short while, what on earth is all that awful junk on the poor horse's face? What are people trying to accomplish by partially blinding him? You can see him trying to get it out of his eyes. It's nuts!
    Oh well. All the best to you all! ❤❤❤

    • @SomaticWise
      @SomaticWise 11 місяців тому

      Totally agreed about the English saddles! They are lighter, and they allow the rider to move so naturally with the horse’s body. They also cover less of the horse’s back-less stress for the skin.

      That "junk" is a fly veil. I had a horse in my student days and he had one on whenever he was turned out. It doesn't partially blind them, it doesn't get into their eyes, it doesn't irritate them at all. It acts the way a long forelock would and brushes flies away that try to settle around their eyes. (I'd have let his forelock grow long enough not to need one, but he was a thoroughbred and didn't have the genes for a nice luxurious forelock.)

    • @PonyTalesRefuge
      @PonyTalesRefuge  11 місяців тому +1

      Those are fly masks. They keep the bugs out of their eyes to avoid irritation. The longer nosed fly masks are for horses with white faces as they can get sunburned when out in the pasture without that protection. The horses don't necessarily want them (which is why they are always getting them off) but it's kind of like making your kid wear sunscreen even when they don't want to. Protection! :) They do not push on their eyes and are see-through, they can see completely!

    • @PonyTalesRefuge
      @PonyTalesRefuge  2 місяці тому

      Sometimes horses are born blind (bad breeding). Appaloosas are prone to blindness/vision problems. Most often times though it is caused by an injury or illness to the eye. Very common is leptospirosis that horses get from contaminated creeks, streams, water running through their pastures, etc. This is often the cause of what is described as "went blind overnight" as that literally can happen with it.
