Just subbed. Met ya outside The Thirsty Whale in River Grove, Illinois after Blackout came out. Such a classic record. Hard to think how much time has come and gone. I see some big traveling shows, and a lot are parents- grandparents bringing their kids to see Iron Maiden, The Stones, AC/DC etc.. but still the best shows are at the small clubs when I force my old body to get off the couch...
What an awesome, awesome comment! Brings back many vague memories (LOL). Of course you had hit Gene & Jude's after a show to satisfy that massive munchies itch acquired during the gig 😂😂😂
@JPearlTV yup, that was it. I was at the kid radio contest winner show. Some school had won a concert or something and I was working on the "street team" for the long gone WVVX.
@JPearlTV when I was in a touring band in the mid 90s, all age shows were the best. The kids bought a lot of shirts and really got into it with pits- crowd surfing etc.. Now everyone looks at their phones and will buy 12 beers before they even think about buying a shirt, cd, lp etc.... oh well
Jizzy o saw Love/Hate three times in the UK around 1991/1992. I had just passed my driving test and used to drive into London for gigs, the Astoria, perhaps Town and Country Club etc. good days. Still have the first three albums
I was 14 when I saw Love/Hate support Skid Row in Birmingham, UK, in Nov 1991. Seen you many times since then. Rock may be limping along, but I’m now getting joy from taking my 13-year old to gigs - AC/DC, G N’R, Paul McCartney and many more. Hopefully he’ll carry the classic rock torch on!
I enjoy your channel though I rarely comment, this current format for me is awesome, you are genuine & honest, your topics are always interesting and this one was truly thought provoking, it was hard to accept it when bands like Pearl Jam became “classic rock”, and you’re right, one by one the classic rock bands have pulled the plug, usually when the last remaining original member dies, Allman Brothers Band for instance, they had some new life injected when guys like Warren Haynes & Derrick Trucks made them relevant again for a few years but I digress… point is the music of my youth has been nostalgic for years & for the most part there’s not much to get excited about unless it’s a show at a cool venue or bill with some other great bands which tend to be too expensive these days… anyway I wanted to say hi because I still Love Black out in the Red Room, I played the hellnout of it back in the day when I worked at record Stores in MN AND I went to high school with your wife, we were rocker buddies in the mid 1980’s , saw allot of great shows at the Met Center in Bloomington, Dio, Kiss, Crue, Ratt, Cinderella… anyway, congratulations, she’s a great lady, please send my regards. Hope to see one of your gigs sometime if you play in Arizona. Never Stop Rockin!
I agree! Within the next 10 years or so, we are going to see these older bands stop touring. The ABBA comment cracked me up! I will def. come out to support the Love/Hate tour!
Man, this resonates BIG. I'm 60,so most of my OG guitar heroes are "aging-out". Health issues happen thinking of Frampton. Mick Jones of Foreigner too. 😢 If I had ever had a career as a touring musician, I wouldn't perform if I got to the point I couldn't deliver what the fans originally fell in love with.
You know what you speak so much truth. As I get older it takes more effort to go out to gigs but I still do. Live music is where it’s at. 56, UK. Saw you first in Peterborough in 1990? Last time at the Whisky in 2020 ( just before the apocalypse) See you in London next year 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I rediscovered my love of music earlier this year after 20/25 years of playing adult. I've been to more gigs this year than I have in the years before when I started in 1992. Dont know how I missed Love/Hate back then. There are still good music venues, and they are loaded with new and old bands to see. I already have 5 gigs and two festivals booked for 2025. you've picked a great venue to visit in Wolverhampton, UK, next March. I look forward to seeing you at KK Steel Mill.

35 years…ha, what a toddler…try hanging 46 years on the board. Granted, I don’t play for a living anymore but playing ‘pro level’ since 1978. My SoCal band shared the stage with bands like Eulogy (Rusty Anderson, now with Paul McCartney) and Quiet Riot (when Randy Rhoads was in the band) Xciter (George Lynch) etc..etc..….now I’m playing tiny tiki bar/biker bar gigs in Sarasota Florida…(no regional no travel)…it’s all fun…thankfully I was able to transition to ‘working for the man’ domesticated animal and eventually semi-retired. I still see guys in Sarasota area trying to play guitar for a living….man, it is tough sledding out there. They have to hold down 3-4 bands to earn enough to survive and that is maybe $150 a gig…playing ‘dinner crowd’ dance music (Murph and the Magitones) what’s the point if you have to sell your soul to play? That’s why I refused to become a studio sessions guy in the early 80’s (I had plenty opportunity)…Bla bla…keep rockin’ if you are a true musician you’ll play until you physically can’t.
As much as I love a good show by my fave old bands, I'm perplexed that some of the newer bands, like Havok for example, are just not catching on and getting the good gigs.I fear for the future of metal bands. Keep rockin & rollin Jizzo, you're a legend.
Very real insight on what is really going down with Rock music nowadays what can keep the Rock music alive ? Older Rock bands handing the torch over to the new Rock bands Now there are a lot of new bands with talented artists I think the kicker is where is the money the loans from the record companies and Rock is kinda under ground now not mainstream the only music I really see making the real money and staying alive very well is top 40 pop country costal beach country music 😅 the jelly rolls post Malones Taylor Swift and the rest of the so called country acts Trendy stuff and yes hip hop still moves it's the new generation of young kids auto tuned and tuned out a bit not in a bad way but they just don't really care about buying instruments or forming bands are if there favorite band artists is really playing live ? And that's the new generation and consumers that will buy new music well down load it mostly for free tickets they will pay for some artists but it's kinda like the interest is less also the internet UA-cam free shows people record the shows and it's now free to watch in the comfort of one's own home the festival scene is not the same as it used to be its not all about the music more about look at me look what I'm wearing selfies what's trending so the whole landscape of music has changed Gene Simmons is even saying Rock is dead ? And yes the age factor is big people in there 50s and up well let's face it do not have the drive like they where in their 20s it's also all the tribute bands out now instead of starting an in original band most are going with tribute bands easy money and do it have to try and make a hit all the work and the tickets are cheap weekend Rockers and people love it they don't care it's about affordability hearing all the hits and not at a big stadium or an arena ??? This is a tough call or sure will Rock stay alive it's going to take lots of new bands and with that talented acts with money to back them to the top Love Hate Rocks and you are a killer vocalist and really dig your channel here it's the real deal hopefully Rock will make it and New bands will keep it going
Country Musician Artists still have to visit and schmooze with radio stations all over the country. Plus they often still have lots of record company financial support.

It's great to see live music , but I don't know how a band can make it today. I looked, and not many good bands playing in vegas for new years this year. The industry is making it hard on bands . But some way the bands have to fight back. It starts with how it gets used online.
Music fans of a genre will continue to support you in a good way as a general rule until they turn 75. BUT that’s the original fans a lot of groups keep getting younger fans.
new to your channel...seen you a few times over the years. Love Hate- Ratt-Quiet Riot...glad to see youre still kicking ass... hows the keto going? I am going to start it today
@@JPearlTV awesome man...good to hear...you know my ex girlfriend did this about 15 years ago before the word keto was even thought of and she lost a bunch of weight and is still going strong..She actually went more carnivore though..i laughed at her at 1st..Now its all the rage
Saw you at the Worlds End London years back now ( but feels recent to me ) .. 51 now so one of those 15/16yr old love hate fans..going to do my best to see you in 2025, but as you say its the ticket prices, the travel into London ( crazy prices ) especially now I quit work and dont have any income 😀. I dont think its necessarily an age thing as a fan as I don't see a lot of younger people doing rock shows when i do go either., we used to have local venues and bands as big and bigger than love hate would play, and it was a weekly thing, £5-10 a ticket, £3 a pint of beer it was affordable. I am glad I have seen the greats and in their primes / prime adjacent😀. Some of the old guys need to give it a rest, and it makes me sad to see Vince, Axel even JBJ struggle vocally so much, Yet i think the Stones (last saw them in 2012) are better than ever. I've seen lots of the those 60s bands too when you realise 3 of them are younger than yourself, sometimes they are great especially if you were too young to see them originally, but also you kinda think whats the point. Perhaps everything dies even rock n roll 🥲
I was an elementary school kid during the era of classic rock. Record stores and rock radio stations were my life. I was too young and couldn’t attend the Cal Jams and other rock concerts but I collected the vinyl, the posters, and even though I was too young for concerts I was still excited when the bands were in town. Obviously as a got older I went to concerts and all. I’m m 57 now and still buy vinyl, and go to concerts. When Black Sabbath did the 13 record I was at 3 shows and spent a ton on tickets and merch. Not classic rock but I spent 2400.0 on Cure tickets. What’s my point? I have no idea
Good points.... when I think of how many shows in the last year I had tickets to.... and just went... 'ah fuck.... my knees hurt too bad for this shit tonight.... let's just grab a burger'.
Music fans of a genre will continue to support you in a good way as a general rule until they turn 75. BUT that’s the original fans- a lot of groups keep getting younger fans.
We need the New classic rockers. New Aerosmith new deep purple new Jefferson airplane new... Just about everything. Classic rock is the music of variety. And people have gotten way too obsessed with heavy metal including me
Yo jizzo , you planning to bring the love/hate tour to Asheville N. C . It's been a while since I've seen you up on stage ! Last time I saw your show was in salt lake City and you were fronting Ratt at a bowling alley.
If you keep playing out, I'll keep buying a ticket. There's not much of a difference for me between then and now, I'm still right up front and center by the stage. The main difference nowadays is my ticket actually says row 1 or 2 on it instead of sneaking down to the front.
Hmm. JIZZY - so vinyl has outsold CD's and all other physical formats for the last few years! It's made a HUGE comeback. This data is easily searchable. I get what you're saying about the touring 'world' - and yeah - that SUCKS ass.... I missed your last tour in Camden UK 🇬🇧 - but I just saw Testament, Kreator and Anthrax 2 weeks ago. I saw Chameleons on Saturday. And I'm seeing IQ play in North London. They're not 'classicrock' but I've seen them ALL in the space of a few weeks!!!🎉🎉🎉
I sympathise with bands wanting to keep going but I want to remember the bands I grew up on a certain way. I love Judas Priest, but the Priest I loved was Rob, Ian, KK, and Glenn. KK is gone, Glenn doesn't tour and Rob and Ian are in their 70s. I was a thrash metal kid, and it's hard to listen to bands like Exodus, Megadeth, Overkill, and Testament who after 40 years are still making the same music and never really matured their song writing. It's like 60 year old men trying to prove they can still hang with the young kids. I still love their old music, but I don't want the same thing for 40 years. At least I feel like Metallica's and Anthrax's music matured with them.
One of the hardest things is to grow and change and have your audience grow with you. I’m amazed a new generation has come along where this is all new to them and they love it. The hardest test to pass is the test of time.
Is that like how Rudy is the only one in Quiet Riot? You can literally use that same band and swap the banner to Love/Hate no one would know….. y’all are playing black out in the set anyway.
Journey & Def Leppard was a pretty successful tour... But I understand these younger bands are in a rutt playing festivals & clubs.. Evolution is merciless in the music business.. content creation is the new MTV..
Love the honesty and positive attitude! It's motivating an infectious! YOU ROCK! I still have my Love/Hate cd from back in the day!

new to your channel...seen you a few times over the years. Love Hate- Ratt-Quiet Riot...glad to see youre still kicking ass... hows the keto going? I am going to start it today
Going well--still doing it!
@@JPearlTV awesome man...good to hear...you know my ex girlfriend did this about 15 years ago before the word keto was even thought of and she lost a bunch of weight and is still going strong..She actually went more carnivore though..i laughed at her at 1st..Now its all the rage
Younger tribute bands can provide a service..
Do they still make Razzles?? I love them
@@sonyahummingbird4507 They probably give you Whooping Cough or something-
When you've been reduced to playing gigs at casinos, you know your time is up
Saw you at the Worlds End London years back now ( but feels recent to me ) ..
You're a Rock n Roller!
@ That’s for damn sure brother
Good points.... when I think of how many shows in the last year I had tickets to.... and just went... 'ah fuck.... my knees hurt too bad for this shit tonight.... let's just grab a burger'.
Getting Old Sucks!
Wish you would come and play Mexico City😢

Seen you do the blackout album in 2013 at rippers place. If you come close enough. I'll come cya again.
We need the New classic rockers. New Aerosmith new deep purple new Jefferson airplane new... Just about everything. Classic rock is the music of variety. And people have gotten way too obsessed with heavy metal including me
Tickets are way overpriced for those big production shows
Yo jizzo , you planning to bring the love/hate tour to Asheville N. C . It's been a while since I've seen you up on stage ! Last time I saw your show was in salt lake City and you were fronting Ratt at a bowling alley.
One old Morgan Freeman looking dude. 😂😂😂
I was pretty happy to see KISS put the makeup back on...😂
If you keep playing out, I'll keep buying a ticket. There's not much of a difference for me between then and now, I'm still right up front and center by the stage. The main difference nowadays is my ticket actually says row 1 or 2 on it instead of sneaking down to the front.
Ha ha we called that musical chairs
@AaronKostin it usually worked, I never liked being far from the stage. Same thing nowadays, I'm good right up front as close as possible.
They're not 'classicrock' but I've seen them ALL in the space of a few weeks!!!🎉🎉🎉
haha the 1000 year old tree
One temptation shoveled up on cola and sweat?!?!?!
😂😂😂
Temptations be more rock than most rock bands these days

Yup. That's me. The 50-year-old fan! \m/
@@gregmacdonald666 Nice!
@@Thunderbird66623 Actually we’re all playing in Quiet Riot
Journey & Def Leppard was a pretty successful tour... But I understand these younger bands are in a rutt playing festivals & clubs.. Evolution is merciless in the music business.. content creation is the new MTV..
Not for much longer, with the exception of The Rolling Stones.
Keith richards fof the win lol
Lmao

rock n roll used to be cool...now its mainstream disney version..boring ..how can we make heavy music cool again...?
