You absolutely nailed it with the cardio being a critical singing factor. Few can still pull it off at a high level, but you are definitely one of them! Another is Gary Cherone. I saw Extreme live last week and Gary was flawless, running the stage like it was 1990. He never stopped moving for over 2 hours. I got winded just watching him, and the guy is 63 years old. You guys are the masters of eternal youth in hard rock.
Hey Jizzo, If someone was doing blow today and singing, I assume their face would be numb for weeks. Considering the difference in blow today and back in the 80's it's all laced with crank and who knows what else lol. Love your channel!
Yes sir Jizzo' It takes an indomitable will & a unwavering resilience if you wanna "Rock n Roll at the top of the Silver Mountain."You either wake up a warrior or a wimp in the music business it's that plain and simple.I do know this first hand to all you grasshoppers out there.🗡️💂👍
It honestly amazes me that lead singers could somehow keep it together (on pitch, etc.) in the old school days of the massive arena concerts before in-ears was a thing. Sure, stage monitors have always been a thing, but they're not always loud enough to overpower the wall of sound coming from the backline (I'm looking at you, Judas Priest Marshall amp wall of doom) 😂
Ya man spot on … my voice is way stronger now in 50s than in my 20s .. thankfully Being in shape has helped massively Just do it and work on it .. on the job training
Learning how to sing "properly" in a controlled acoustic environment versus learning how to sing in a balls-loud heavy rock stage environment is two different things. You know this better than anyone.
Not just great singing advice but life advice as well. After watching this I'm hoping I'll finally be able to sing happy birthday in tune for once. Will do sit ups before next birthday party I'm invited to.
was there ever any 'classic art style' drawings for Lets Rumble album? spent hours staring at blackout and wasted in America covers lol with some herbal assistance kinda same with lets Rumble but was more like where's the old art stuff style ..spinning wheel was a jam from hell! buddies I use to drive around be like ..hey play that tune again ..minorly off topic.. glad to see another upcoming video ...
Great video. Totally agree. You can be taught how to hit the notes, but you can't teach TONE! The "sound" of your voice is what it is. Just because you can hit the notes does not mean it "sounds" good.
From a FOH point of view, singers please sing during a soundcheck, and if your talking voice is 5 times louder than your singing voice during a show, something is going wrong too, you are not moving air when you sing
Actually you're supposed to NOT move air--but I get what you're saying. You want an accurate level at sound check so when it's gig time you have a correct vocal level.
@@JPearlTV the levels of course, and with moving air i guess i mean some type of volume, some singers when they speak between songs there is this nice full sounding voice and the moment the singing starts there is nothing left, dont know how to explain it : )
@@RGBAnarchy It boils down to the singer being Pro enough to know how to work the microphone. When I do 'shout outs' to the audience, I'm not really 'shouting', I'm just closer to the Mic.
Or there's always giving up on having any talent or ability to instead sing/mumble nerd vocals off pitch and label oneself "alternative". Seen that lazy formula a million times and it still exists.
Keeps you young !
Jizzo, I'd love to see you on the "Masked Singer". That would be stellar. 🤘
Appreciate you Jizzo. I ALWAYS feel better after watching one of your videos.
"Don't ever stop being a musician" - the best advice ever!
This is so true!! Thanks Jizzy
"Don't ever stop being a Musician "...I love that!!

Once again you're articulate, detailed and real!!! Keep these coming!!! I'm not a musician but love this music, learning so much from your commentary.

Yes for sure!
There's some damn good songs on that Hell, CA release, of course the vocals are great
Yes!
Andy is great!!
Wouldn't want to sing like that!

Ha- ok good!
You sounded good at Walker's bluff!
I warm up with scales as well. Gotta admit, I love arpeggios. I prefer minor scales.
I see you are coming to the UK next year, and I hope to see you. Great videos btw. I like the grounded experienced pov.

Skid painted a cover that Joey and I didn't like--it ended up on the Japanese release.
Great! Fantastic advise and you seem to have mastered the propeller excersise too. 😅
Is that what it's called? Ha!
Tried to sing like you. Once.
Fail.
Took 3 days to recover my voice.
I’ll stick to listening to you mate.
Nice!
Love/Have, I guess that was previously released than Lies and Do the right thing. Namastè.
What about Tom Keifer? He made a Herculean effort to get his voice back. He inspires me.

You can work on it--it just takes time!

Next tour of Ireland?
Sorry mate--it isn't in the cards.
Ken Tamplin was recently exposed..
Hmmm
YEA RIGHT! THERE IS NO WAY TO SING LIKE JIZZO. WAY TO DIFFICULT. .THAT'S HARDCORE METAL VOCALS!!!!!!!!!
Rob Halford loves his voice
Hi Jizzo ! what Car is that ?? is it a BMW E30 ?? I need to know thanks
It’s a Toyota RAV4 4
Jizzo, how many times has someone came up to you in the car and asked hows it going, who you talking to?
Not many- I do my tapings early in the morning!
I was had by Ken Tamplin for 3 years and I’m disgusted w him and myself for allowing it. Have a much more holistic and effective approach now.
Live and learn I say!

For me, I've dealt with approximately 99.98% nay sayers, but I don't sing or am in a band anymore.
They're everywhere!
Jizzy you even breathe like a singer when you talk, every video is a lesson 😛
