Probably the most underrated and underutilzed tool in the flight sim community. This tool has all the features I've ever wanted in a planner. I'm always so surprised to hear how people don't know it exists. Also surprised that it's not payware.
What i feel to add to this great tutorial, is that once you start flying with MSFS, the flight is tracked into Little Navmap, a small airplane icon is shown and you can follow the airplane on the map (like pressing the "v" into MSFS with the details of Little Navmap).
I've played a little with this program before, but have always felt like it had so much potential ahh i didn't know how to use. A more indepth tutorial series would be amazing!
Great video! Can't wait to see the rest of the series. It truly is an amazing piece of software. The person who developed it is a selfless genius and we as a community of pilots owe him a LOT! He could've charged $30 euros or more for this...
I love LittleNavMap. It's a great tool. I especially like the web server it provides. I use a tablet as my "kneeboard" to have all my waypoint info right at hand.
You got reservoir right the first time , like ,''reserved parking'' but it's a reserved area for , in this case, water.. They could have call it tank or water tank in English since it's the translation but that's that. I love your video ! You're petty clear and fast talking even though some people want you to slow down hahaha I understand but we can always replay XD
This was how I completed all the Bush flights. Then I realized how much I actually like this program and use it for most of my flights cause MSFS map sucks.
As a newbie, I tuned into this video hoping for actual setup basics. I got stuck on the download page not knowing what I needed or how to download Global information as recommended. Not sure where to put things or how to open and start the program. So I needed REAL basic stuff. The rest of this looks very detailed and perfect, but I cannot get started.
A few of us do multiplayer. trips weekly. We normally do short hops to and from 3 or 4 airports. My question is, is it possible or even practical to create a plan that allows multiple destinations. That include sids, stars and approaches within a single flight plan? Thanks, and thanks for all of your videos.
very helpful as usual !! great stuff I must admit though I find myself a bit confused.. LIttleNavMap, SimBrief, SkyVector, Navigraph, NavBlue, etc.. wondering if you could do a tutorial video on, in your opinion, the best way to plan an IFR flight in MSFS using any or all of these tools, combined or only one for the entire process. thoughts?
I donated some nice Bux to Alex...the more I use it and read the manual I am AMAZED. I shall donate to him the same each year. Incredible piece of software...
whoa, little nav map seems to be much, much better than navigraph! also, @11:48 ... nothing happens when I double click the airport, when I click on procedures, it prompts me in red that no airports are selected? though, the "Airport panel" on the lower left is showing the airport I previously selected? so I'm pretty sure it is selected ... also, the (All procedures/All runways/search bar) are greyed out?
ahhh, but when I right clicked, it gave me the option "show departure procedures" which then brings up the panel that looks like yours did above, maybe things have changed since you made this video?
Quick question, please: When launched Little Navmap has colour panels overlaid on the maps. This makes the map a little hard to read. How do I remove the colour overlays? I think these colour overlays are related to altitiude lmitations for airspace display?
This program is amazing, but recently even if you are pulling the data from MSFS scenery the data does not line up and is different. There are some serious issues with loading the flight plans now because they won't be the same. MSFS has some serious flight plan issues in general. Unfortunately LNM is almost usable now because of this.
Only issue I’ve had is that, airplanes that only use “ ufmc flight plans” can not be downloaded directly into the navigation computer…so they have to be done manually. No big deal though.
If you have the ILS tails turned on (Green fan arrows) they show the frequency, name and GS. You can also right click on an Airport with ILS and it will give this info and a lot more
Hi I am getting an error mesg all over the map face Contact [User:TheDJ] if you want to maintain OSMdb and/orthe wmflabs' OSM title server Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue? Thanks
Awesome! Thanks for the video and THE FACT YOU'RE NOT TALKING SLOW! yall in the comments are the exact reason why they make annoying 45 minutes long videos that could be summed up in 10 minutes! Just because your brain cant process information in real time smh...And I didnt even speak English until I was 17...im 25 now, convinced that aviation fans have insufficient brain powers smh
Maybe younger folks whose brains developed playing Playstation/X-Box are used to watching micro-sized cursors whip around a screen while the instructor goes off track with needless nonsequiters, but for the rest of us this tutorial is useless. Knowing how to use a program oneself does not automatically translate to knowing how to instruct others in its use, especially with such a busy screen and complex functions. Slowing the video down is not very helpful either as this "instructor" moves the tiny cursor around so fast that even at 50% speed, it darts about the screen in a fidgety manner with no actual destination in mind most of the time, and the voiceover at that speed makes the speaker sound quite drunk. My advice to this would-be tutor is to make your mouse cursor extra large and visible, slow down the mouse speed, and take your hand off it until you wish to move it to where you will click, then move it. Give the viewers' eyes a moment to locate the cursor and where you're clicking, maybe slowly circle around the button in question, then announc left or right click, wait one second, click it. Wait another second. Move the mouse to a menu selection and highlight. Wait another second or three for the viewer to absorb that step, then announce the click before you click. Can't tell you how many tutorials I've watched by wannabe tutors who zip their cursors around the screen too fast for the human brain to follow. I literally have to tap my spacebar immediately after every move to freeze the step so I can duplicate it because if I don't, the tutor has already jumped ahead two steps because they are second nature to him and he doesn't have any experience instructing a live class, who would in RL be constantly asking him to repeat what he just said, and then ask him to please slow down to a speed they can comfortably follow. Just because you are doing this for free, doesn't mean you're helping anyone. If you wish to be a successful YT tutor and get loads of subscribers so you can monetize your videos, first learn how to properly instruct a class as if they were right there in the room with you. Then translate that style into a one-way video format. You have a pleasant, friendly voice, so that will help a lot. But frankly, this video skips the very basic steps of how to download, install, and set this app up before even getting to making that simplest of all flight plans. If I were you, I'd delete this video and do shorter videos as lessons. First one should be downloading, installing, etc, followed by just going over the UI (user interface), and just the very basic controls necessary to create that simple flight plan. Second lesson should explain what a flight plan is, its purpose, and the simple steps to create it and save it for import into MSFS2020 or other sims. That's it. All of that stuff about mercator vs spherical maps and range rings is distracting and unnecessary for a first lesson and ought to be left for more detailed lessons about the app later on. This comment is intended as constructive criticism for the OP and it's obvious my position is shared by other commenters. I have no interest in debating with those who wish to debate or defend the OP, nor being an outlet for anyone's pent up hostility or ego positioning. I do appreciate the OP's wish to share his knowlege with the flight sim community, but as a former classroom instructor, I am giving a somewhat qualified opinion. ✌
That was very well said and very appreciated. I shared the same thoughts' on how this tutorial was presented. I actually went to view some comments only to verify I am not the only one that thought it was spoken a bit too fast. At the same time seemed nice enough and I did appreciate his effort. As you noted as well. Your comments was the very definition of constructive criticism. I hope he sees your advice and takes it in a positive way and uses it to be even better instructor on this medium.
no its not. You're one of the reasons why creators make 45 minutes long video. If you miss something, press left arrow key on your keyboard and go back.
You go so fast and talk so fast that I can't follow you. Okay if you know what to do. But the reason for watching is to learn. I know you done this a million times but I've only seen the program a few times. You can't keep track of your pointer it's so small and where and what you are clicking on. My program keeps saying "not responding". So at this point it's useless. How to install and where? I can see that it would be great to use for MSFS 2020.

This tool is incredible. It has all the things I wanted to have for so long. Thank you for the vid.
Clear and concise as always. Many thanks!
Thank you! Best viewed at 0.75 speed!

Really looking forward to your tutorials on this. Been wanting to learn more about it. Thanks!!
Greatest thing since toast. It can even be used in training as an aid I love it.
great tutorial, keep it up buddy

Super useful ! Will be an awesome tool for planning routes for DC-6, specially flying radios only :)
Thanks for not saying *"What's up!"* at the beginning to the videos. And thanks for the vid too.
PLEASE put a highlighter on your mouse cursor when doing your tutorials.... I love your stuff... thanks for your efforts, much appreciated
very good your explanation! thank you teacher!
Fantastic video and a great tool.I'm going to watch all LNavMap video's to be a better planner 😄
Thanks for this wonderful information and great Video. greetings from Germany
Learned a lot, thank you.
Great video thanks :)
Nice one, great video. Really fast tho, please slow it up a bit, the mouse is all over the place.
Its a fantastic tool, still cant believe its free

Excellent Video. Thanks
Great video man, it helped me a lot thank you.
Your first waypoint surely is look for the bridge on your LEFT
This can't be free. I think the devil will take your soul once you download it.
Awesome piece of software.

Does lil NavMap also have the ILS frequencies for the localizers? Because that's 99.99% of what I'm looking for beyond decent rates for my approaches.
If you have the ILS tails turned on (Green fan arrows) they show the frequency, name and GS. You can also right click on an Airport with ILS and it will give this info and a lot more
This is the best… and free ✌️
when i imported the route into MSFS2020, nothing shows up in my plane's NAV. Do I have to program that in myself?
Hi I am getting an error mesg all over the map face Contact [User:TheDJ] if you want to maintain OSMdb and/orthe wmflabs' OSM title server Do you have any idea how to resolve this issue? Thanks
10 Stars!!
You need to slow way down. Other than that great information. Thank you
Hello Charles, Please can you tell me if I can download the scenarios from my FS from the xbox serie s console to my computer.
can you save this flight plan to PMDG 737 format? ( if you save it as a regular msf flight plan it's useless )
14:43 I think you mean left, right? Haha
thanks fo the vid, you probably won a cup for the fastest speech on the internet, you speak o fast I missed half of what you said
your show is great but just back off a little on the coffee
Much clearer at 75% speed in settings
Thank you very much, why when I create the flight plan between 2 airports, the yellow line of the flight plan does not show to me? Cheers
Does your flight plan show a departure & destination airport??? Works solid for me... I also create approaches for ILS enabled airports...
thank you....very much
Please, how can I see the map (in small) on the screen within the sim while flying?
There is an addon to msfs that lets you have exactly that! just search "littlenavmap vr" and follow the install guide
hope this helps
Why doesn't he include some basic, commonly used aircraft in the performance part of LNM.
Check the downloads page. There is a link to aircraft performance files. Or wait for the next video😉
@@jfodor1 Yeah, I downloaded the aircraft on that page. But even those are missing some data.
it is actually spelt as reservoir
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Hi, I want to use Little Navmap on another laptop (without MSFS installed).. can I do that?
LNM won't see any airports, elevation data, etc... has to be on you SIM PC...
Awesome! Thanks for the video and THE FACT YOU'RE NOT TALKING SLOW!

He needs to take some classes in effective public speaking. And improve his listening skills too.
Thank you for tutorial but please slow down your are talking fast.
can I use this on Mac OS?
Yes u can!
@@Aviation_enthusiast81 I have downloaded the latest version on Mac OS but the application will not open!
Does this cover the entire world?
The airport data is synced from your sim. So if you're in MSFS and there's an airport in there, it will also be in Little Navmap.
Way too fast! Please slow down in the future.
Good video, would be helpful though if you spoke a little slower
