That’s odd, only some doors give the option to kick in, while others are pick lock with the X key on Xbox. Maybe I’m missing an option?

Your technically almost always in a mission in mafia 2? You just take detours to go to gun stores and buy a new suit.

I just don't see the level of quality and attention to detail that perfected mafia 2 in mafia 3. mostly noticeable the animations seem a bit off... guess we hope for the best...

Yeah but the game is more developed in terms of gameplay. So "side-missions" are pertinent to the story. There's stealth, you can pick up bodies and feed them to the alligators, there's the break-in QTE, there's empire building to an extent, unique perks, more interiors and more diverse map.
Racing and customisation will come with free DLC, I think.

It's probably the same thing as Mafia 2's simulation mode. It was switchable at any time in the menu, and turning it on just made things more realistic. Most noticeable in the 1940s part of the game, of course, due to the snow.

Well, Mafia II didn't have any camera differentiation between normal and simulation driving modes. It had the standard, like a hood view, but no arms and steering wheel view. It's possible that Mafia III could have that kind of camera, but I doubt it. Honestly, I haven't kept up with too much of the game's media because I want it to be a *little* bit of a surprise for me when it comes out. TL;DR - Nope, no clue.

That Guy that's exactly what I was wondering too haha, havent heard them yet though. Most of the music seems pretty correct for the era like Jefferson Airplane, Rolling Stones, the animals etc.

Only thing bad I can really say about this game other than small shit people make a big deal about, is that the ai is kinda dumb so hard difficulty is more suiting. Other than that its great

Yeah I'm on easy for my first playthrough for the story and haven't come even CLOSE to dying. The only mission I failed was the boat escape mission towards the beginning, the boat glitched into a wall and I got stuck. So I failed. But where skill was involved, it's incredibly easy. Amazing game though.

MrMagee78 Considering the fact that I shot a bottle and it a dudes head and killed him, I'd say its pretty entertaining if you time it just right.
Oh the switchboard operator can block phonecalls AND call of the cops, i thought (been playing the game on and off for a while, on my third run) calling of the cops was done by the police dispatcher.... so many small things left out in this video

What was not open world in mafia 2?
Yes,but after finishing the last mission you can't get back to free roam unless you load any chapter.If you want to play fully free roam you can buy one of the 3 DLC'S from Mafia 2 (I'm speaking about "The Betrayal of Jimmy","Jimmy's Vendetta" and "Joe's Adventures").

Not really things to do in the sens of wondering randomly in the open world. Everything that's been said is mission based or nothing important. Sucks playing it now and don't mind it but could polished and did more with it hopefully there is a sequel thag really trys to improve the Mafia franchise.

I love how every open world game is either Skyrim/Witcher 3 or GTA.....who the hell cares? every game is always going to have similar mechanics/story elements or gameplay to something else. Games should be judged on their own merits and not on everyone elses

there is no multi-player they focused on making an amazing single player experience, much better than a just good single player and a Crap tacked on multi-player.
