I really like how you only get two guns, it's a nice touch of realism that is notably absent in most open world games
If they don't fix that horrible draw distance on the rearview mirror.. It looks like driver 1 on ps1 :((
Decided to play it again and somehow they didn't bother
I thing it was meant to be that way.. In a big open world game the big portion of pop in is in behind players back , ayaw from the player view the front is the rendering depends on how long is the draw distance settings of the game and the limitations of the engine graphics, vice versa if you turn back... That is way there's no more mirror view behind while driving in mafia 1 remake thats we're all the pop in hides..the reason for this is to save performance.. Only ps5 can truly resolve this issue with 5.5 ssd with the help of the developers optimization.. If you watch cd project red witcher 3 presscon demo they said they hides all the pop in behind ayaw from the player view .. The rendering is so fast the player can't even see it no matter how hard you try to turn...
mafia 1 should be remade. The story is phenomenal and they should keep the same dialog but flesh out the world

Hell yeah Mafia was a great game. have it on PC,xbox,ps2. It still is amazing and the PC version still looks good. I only hated the loading screens on Mafia.

Really fun game with great scenery and a STUNNING soundtrack. Seriously, probably in my top 3 vg soundtracks of all time, with GTA Vice City and Fallout 4.

Why? It wasn't in depth this is video game propaganda they just show you everything good about the game, i'd prefer a channel that criticise games properly looking at the good and the bad.

I'm just starting a playthrough of Mafia 3 on hard. I've always loved the atmosphere of the game, but never realised how many things in New Bordeau were actually references to real New Orleans landmarks. Interesting video!
If this game is set in the 1970s, I'm just wondering how the hell you can use the phone for all those deliveries and connections if you're not at a phonebooth. They didn't have cellphones yet.

Its 1968 and that's because he's using a earpiece prototype given by the CIA agent John Donavan.so he can use it to to make calls its historically accurate.
He's a soldier, soldiers use radios. Back in vietnam they had those backpack sized prc 25 that were used only for platoon and up level, but Lincoln is working with CIA here, so he can have something like a prototype of squad-platoon level radio (something like an/prc 148 or 152) He calls his own dispatcher (guy sitting near a phone) and then he makes the actual phone calls. thats how i would do it if i only had access to a radio instead of a phone

I mean it looks like it has been dumbed down quite a lot... You don't even have to visit the gun store anymore, you can literally just get the weapons delivered straight to you. Same with cars. It just feels like modern developers are catering too much to the younger fanbase, the kids who are too lazy and want everything delivered straight to them. It also looks like there isn't really all that much you can do in the game. I'll have to wait and see if this becomes worth it

Lincolns animations are on point. The car models are on point but seem a bit stiff in movement. The NPCs also seem a bit stiff and the colors seem a bit bland compared to e3
Rockstars Euphoria engine simply can't be matched

Euphoria engine isn't Rockstars, Euphoria engine is from Natural Motion. Rockstars RAGE engine uses Euphoria, but they didn't make that piece of tech.
Can't wait to get this game when they eventually drop the complete edition next year. Hoping they fix all the major glitches by that time. Also wouldn't mind a remake of Mafia 1 and Mafia 2. One of the things I loved about Mafia 2 was that it wasn't completely open world, this meant you could mess about and you knew you only had a few limited things to do, then went on to the mission. One big issue with open world games is how little there is to do, once the game is over you are stuck with millions of dollars and OP weapons with nothing to do. Mafia 2 ended and I went back and did a immediate playthrough.

I would love to play this, but it's just not a Mafia game to me. Where are the Mobsters ? Where are the suits ? Where are the sexy Italians ? Mafia 1 and 2 had them.
The Italians and there suits will be in this game dont worry!

I'm from Louisiana. I don't like New Orleans. This game let's me wreck havoc on New Orleans, without actually having to go to that urinal of a city. Plus, the radio in this game is one of my favorites of all the GTA or GTA clones. Hearing Joey Diaz on one of the commercials made me love the game 2x's over. I hope he's a character in a mission or something too!

Conker Bonker Andy Wilson confirmed on a Facebook QnA that you won't be able to change Lincoln's clothes manually, and his style changes throughout the narrative. It's a bloody shame, looks like we have to wear boots, jeans and a Vietnam war jacket throughout the whole game.
However he did say that the ability isn't in the game... Yet. So maybe it's something they're considering?
They stated on their Steam Group that you can change outfits as a post-release update to Mafia 3.

Anyone else notice the enemies actually seem to feel pain? It's a thing more games need. Like u know in cod when u shoot someone like 5 times in the face and they just keep shooting u, like nothing ever happened. As u can see in this, u shoot someone in the belly and they like lean over in pain holding their belly. Or u shoot someone in the foot and they bounce around on one leg
Fark this game is brutal, the lighting is great, animations are great, hope it doesn't get a downgrade before release.

I'm here because ps plus. I like this game. Never wasn't into games like this, but I found that if I play it as like it's real life, it it very immersing for me. I wait for the red lights to turn green and walk around sight seeing and all the little things.
Living in New Orleans makes me even more excited for this game!

When I heard there was a feature to call for backup I was really hoping it would be similar to the Godfather 2 crew system. I think it would really work in Mafia 3 as they're sort of going for the whole take over everything zone by zone kind of thing but ah well let's see what happens.

I'm sold on the narrative but there's some ....immersive breaking elements I cant get over. stealth takedowns for example look good but aren't refined enough. cars still have me feeling iffy

This game looks AMAZING. Defintley some things need work though. This is Hangar 13's first game and they showed that they DO care about it being as perfect as possible. So i expect a lot of things to be fixed before and after release

It looks okay, but is there a house system and garage system like in mafia 2. And what about the gas stations??
I can't tell if this looks amazing or just quite average-the feeling of running around new orleans, taking down the kkk as a vietnam vet and combat looks great.
But I feel I would get bored quickly-like is there any INTERESTING things to do outside of missions? I saw a trailer saying you can take down gangs and rackets but that just sounds like any other crime based open world game.

I'm not saying that it's the case with Mafia 3, but we all know what we've played previously, so if there is a bit more to do, then that is already something, I won't complain.
I enjoy these games for what they are.
That makes sense, I'll wait a couple of weeks once it's released to see how long the campaign is then.

Great video, but you you said that you get awarded certain cars as the story progresses. I hope that it doesn't mean that you can't store cars from the street in your garage?

The policing system seems like an impossible mission to do for developers. The only game that got it right was Red Dead Redemption

The game looks awesome and I am glad I pre ordered. People need to stop complaining everytime a game comes out. Seriously the only game in the past 5 years (that I remember) to not receive hate was The Last of Us and Witcher 3.

In this one, near the start where they're slowly walking down the road. In Hollie's video, it was much more frequent while driving from area to area.
