When I lived in Florida many years ago, I was instructed by an old timer that when a hooked Tarpon jumps you have to give it some slack to keep it from throwing the hook. He said to extend the pole straight out in front of you and bend at the waist. He added that when the king jumps you bow.

Sight fishing is so much fun! It's also a great way to perfect your retrieve.

We was at that same exact spot a few weeks ago and all we caught there was lots of small mangroves, school masters and some of those small yellow and black fish , it was lots of fun . The rocks and then climbing the lighthouse about killed us . Lol . Awesome video

Funny. That's where I'm from, and I'm in Pensacola right now watching this. I'll be playing guitar across the water there next month. The current is usually so strong you can't keep a bait down. You hit it just right. If you charter a boat, try the black dog.

We've got millions of Snook around here (Tampa Bay area) too. For years I've wondered why snook are protected so radically
I was 14 years old and crossing Cyprus Gardens in '84 to get back to a tour bus because a storm was blowing up. It hit me, soaked me to the bone, and was gone, leaving sunny weather by the time I got to the parking lot. That was the first time I ever heard the expression that, "If you don't like Florida's weather, wait ten minutes".

I've never heard of sight fishing before. Aiming a cast towards a fish to get its attention. Usually, I just bate my hook and cast it out, and wait for a nibble. I learned something.
Me being in PA, the only sight fishing I really ever do is for pond bass.
I had to laugh at the beginning when you said the water was real muddy, come to Kansas we got your muddy waters lol! But, I sure wish I lived down there to catch and relase some of those snook they look pretty fun to catch.
Looks like your leg injury has completely healed. Instead of pulling calf muscles, you're pulling fish out of the water.

I've fished all over the world... literally. I've caught fish that are on most anglers' bucket lists. I've never caught a snook. You could at least have the decency to make it look difficult. 😄

Fantastic video. Beautiful spot too! Sometimes it is hard to watch your videos. I love fishing so much that it hurts to see such a good spot and not be able to throw some lines. I'm a Veteran and will be looking for a home by years end. Watching the market at the moment and hoping we might land a decent home with sliver of land. Ill be keeping you in mind. You need a fish basket. Can put your aerated bucket in it for transport. Empty your net into it and you don't have to pick all that bait up off the ground

The bridge over alternate A1A by the railroad tracks on the southwest side of that bridge you can walk from by the railroad tracks over to the first dock to yer ledt and take a look when they have the light on at the end of the dock you will see more snook than you've ever seen in your life and don't fish next to the railroad track well a train goes by it triggers the snook to feed. #LOCALS
Coming down to Naples in mid October. What can I expect to catch from beach. I will be bringing the spoon I sent to each of you clickbaiter( male organ) I can’t believe you guys didn’t try it for Spanish mackerel.

Tarpon are probably the most popular saltwater gamefish in Florida.
