    *BEFORE YOU GO TO THE COMMENTS READ THIS* 👇
    I would like to address the information presented in this video. For context, I made this video before completely knowing the proper mounting method. There was a lot of conflicting information online which confused me, so I went ahead and made this video. I knew that if I got it wrong, this comment section would educate me and it did. I know now that tubes should be at the bottom and that ideally, a top mounted configuration is best. However, the configuration presented in this video will likely only cause added noise (as seen in the GamersNexus video) so I will be keeping this Short up. For some people, a top mounted configuration is not feasible and their tubes are not long enough to accommodate a side mounted with tubes down configuration.

    To be clear, the best to mount an aio cooler, is tubes down that the air already in the aio will be on top where no tubes are, so installing an aio with tubes on top is bad, my pump broke bcz of this, also your aio on the top of your case is good, it gets a constant flow of water, mounting it at the bottom of your case youre just asking for air in your pump, keep in mind the liquid inside lubes the pump motor and keeping it cool aswell

    From what I remember from the GamersNexus and a follow up video by JayzTwoCents, you're good so long as the pump is not completely above the radiator, you always want some part of the radiator above the pump. If the radiator is mounted on a side, the tubes coming out of the bottom is ideal but more often than not it's difficult to achieve this either because the tubes aren't long enough, or there's other stuff in the way, usually a gpu. Tubes on top is the next best thing but there's a risk of a bubbling noise.

    • @hardwiredreview
      @hardwiredreview  Рік тому +8

      Lol I made a video previously where the pump inlet and outlet WERE LOWER than my pump and everybody got mad at me for it. It appears nobody rly knows the correct AIO orientation because I have received equal backlash for both videos. While I do not disagree your opinion has merit, there continues to be conflicting information regarding the optimal AIO orientation. What I have learned from this AIO nonsense is nothing I do is correct, I think the "optimal" orientation is up to the owner and the research they have personally done. I have used pumps in both orientations for over 2 years and have not encountered any issues. Never said I was a genius but I tend to recommend things from experience, which I did in this case.

    • @Dracconus
      @Dracconus Рік тому

      @@hardwiredreview Recommending things based off a single experience isn't exactly "beneficial" either, to be honest; and creating a hardware channel where you recommend those things to other people giving the presumable impression that you "understand what you're doing" when you're basing your statements off compilations of input from other people as a HARDWARE channel is..concerning.
      Granted, yes, there are those out there - such as myself - who genuinely want to help people, and enjoy doing it - that's why I was such a part of Computer Enthusiasts for as long as I was, and have so many contacts in the industry; but for the most part the "people complained this or that was wrong" portion - ignore other people. Go based off your findings, but approach them with the scientific method. ALWAYS test the fallacy or validity of your approach, and results.
      Do understand, I'm not attacking you directly, or anything like that; but fighting misinformation is something that I and many others in our field take very diligently and I HOPE that it's the same for you. If you truly want to help people - avoid the shorts, sure they're great for getting attention; but rarely can you elaborate the way you need to for most things in 60 seconds. Get out there, do the grunt work, and prepare yourself to spend weeks making a single video (ESPECIALLY if it's about hardware benchmarks, overclocking, or similar topics of discussion.)
      I apologize if my initial comment seemed too..forward; but again, I take the spread of misinformation very seriously. The reason you want the pump to be lower than the radiator's ports is so that any air that DOES build up within the radiator gets pushed to the top of the area above the ports meaning it doesn't impede flow within the radiator's fin array, or tiny little reservoir (because god, they are SMALL in AIO's.)

    • @Dracconus
      @Dracconus Рік тому

      @@hardwiredreview also, if the pump's lower than the rads ports then you can trap air in the lines, or even in the pump, and pumps die QUICK without fluid.

      @@hardwiredreview People are too harsh! Thanks for the tips, but yeah it's true that in this video they are mostly wrong. There are some known PC build / tech channels who have made extensive research into which way an AIO pump is best oriented, and the general consensus is that top is best, and front with tubes down 2nd best.
      Thanks for the video anyways! Don't take the backlash too personal, and just keep putting out more content!

      I had previously posted a video where that orientation was shown and everyone said it was the wrong orientation. So I took that information, in addition to some articles, and made this video. I am honestly very confused because whichever way I mount an AIO, some people say it's wrong no matter what

    • @blackbirdpctech
      @blackbirdpctech Рік тому +5

      @@hardwiredreview no problem and I appreciate the honesty. The reason that orientation is fine is because any air trapped in the system will naturally make its way to the top of the radiator, so no air will ever get into the pump (unless you placed the pump higher than the top of the radiator, which is difficult to do). The best orientation is horizontal at the top of the case because the air is trapped at the top of the radiator. The worst is horizontal below the pump … never install an AIO that way. This stuff is hard to figure out and there are a lot of people that provide uneducated opinions without any understanding of how physics work.

    Please do some research before spreading misinformation.
    The most optimal way to mount an AIO cooler is at the top of your case followed by the front/side with the tubes coming from the bottom. - A tubes down installation in this case or even having the AIO cooler mounted at the bottom will cause noise, poor cooling performance and eventually lead to a defect in the long term. You want the pump to be below the radiator that way the air will sit at the top as intended.

    • @hardwiredreview
      @hardwiredreview  Рік тому +3

      Haha this video was part of my research, I kept finding articles which agreed with what you just said, but also articles which said the exact opposite. I will be taking the comments from this video, and compiling them to make a decisive "the best wait to mount your AIO" video in the future. I made a video a while back which had a side mounted AIO with tubes on the bottom and radiator above, but everyone kept saying the orientation was wrong. Hence why I made this short. Thanks for the feedback, your comment will most likely be featured in the video
