Why do I see some people that do top mounts they mount the fans the opposite way from what you did which would be intake. Like I noticed inside my instructions for my H115i it shows to mount the fans intake side towards the bottom of the case for best performance.
Thank you for covering the little things like which direction is which on the fan and showing how deeply seated that breakaway cord needs to be. I spent hours trying to get one of those installed based on the instructions last night. After finding your video I got it working in about 20 minutes.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I've been stuck trying to find someone who mentions that breakout cable for so long!!! I really appreciate the detail you went into!

You have no idea how much this helped! I wanted to mount it on the top but my case doesn't have room so I had to go to the front. And since the instructions aren't clear on whether to have the fans inside or out I searched forever and stumbled across this beaut. Thank you!
@Artemis Prime hi, explain by right part? Right aio for your cpu? And I remember spending a couple hours just to realize that I was screwing in something wrong lol.
Thanks for the video! This was the main part I was concerened about when building a new PC and is often the part skipped over (or sped up) by the hundreds of other PC builder videos I have seen!
Fantastic presentation, went through the basics nice and slow ... easy to learn from this. Now all that I have to do is to determine if you can plug in a 3-pin connector labelled "motherboard" from the water block to a 4-pin AIO_PUMP header without smoking something.
That should specifically be covered in the manual but yes, I believe the labelled motherboard should plug into any fan header (4 pin or 3 pin) without any risk
Bravo! This video is exactly what I needed to see. I just bought a NZXT Kraken X53 and was searching how to mount the radiator TOP with the fans in PUSH orientation. It looks like all the necessary hardware for this [top radiator][fans push] orientation is provided in the kit. Thanks a mil!
Just came across your video. And loved the way you take the time to explain in detail and clear voice about what has to be done and how. Definitely a new sub. Thank you

thank you for this video!! I had one question: what is the reasoning behind putting the radiator fans as exhaust when top-mounted? Would there be weight problems with the radiator being suspended from the fans? Or is it just preference? or something else?
This helped me so much! Thank you so much!!! This is my first time installing something like this to my pc and since I am new to pc building and such this helped so much! It turned on and worked first try! Edit: Hey where do you plug in the fan header on the motherboard cause I kinda messed that up and I can’t configure the fan speed!
Great video, loved it and showed me what to expect when it arrives, now my motherboard has a non removeable backplate b550 tomahawk, but it sounds like this should not be an issue. The other other thing i noticed is you said that you took cooler back off then turned cables, this is not a problem for most people, however those of us that run 4 sticks of ram 4x16 will encounter an issue with A1 not fitting, in that scenario the tubes would need to be pointed down and then the display easily corrected in the software! Great video though, love it!
Always thought you need the hoses connecting to the rad need to be higher than the pump so no air bubbles will ever get caught in the pump which will cause it to fail.
Mine is mounted in front w hoses on top after a year and a half of having my pc I heard bubbles recently and now red light on mother board by CPU and CPU temps were really hot so I’m assuming my aio broke which is why I’m watching this video 😑
Hey, I really liked your channel, I'm just now attempting to build my first pc and I got all the parts, a 3 fan EVGA AIO included, and I was just wondering if its recommended to add thermal paste with this kind of AIOs or just use the stock one they bring, would it make it better if we add extra thermal paste from the beggining?
Best video of all of them, but I'm still confused about fan wiring. Is the in/out wire necessary? You didn't talk about that. Also can I just connect the radiator fans down to two SYS_Fan headers or do I have to use the splitter. Last, I connected the pump to the CPU FAN but my motherboard has one called PUMP FAN. Was I supposed to connect it to that? Super confused
I'm pretty sure I mentioned whether some motherboards have a Pump fan header you can use or just CPU fan header. The answer for that since you're still confused though: whichever is fine. For the fans, I talked about the breakout cables in the video. The fans plug into a splitter that plugs into the pump block. That's all.
I'm a little confused. I always hear people say that the front should intake air but that an aio water cooler should always be exhausting the hot air. In this video, you mention that it would "intake" if it's in the front 3:24. Is that fine so as long as the air flows out the back?
great video....how would you mount the fans on a SFF build where the radiator is horizontal on the side of the case? i've heard folks talking either option ie on the outside pushing fresh air into the case via the rad, or on the inside pushing the hot air from the CPU trhough the rad...i'm quite confused, especially seeing my top fan is acting as an exhaust
@@CoalitionGaming oh ok, i was thinking more for thermals than mounting. One that i noticed one of the 3 attempts i did flipping them around caused my ambients to be around 70 degrees and i thought my fans werent actually on due to the spike. Cheers
Well I would avoid any orientation that has bad thermals but that aside, the best orientation is the one that fits the best since you have limited space.
May I ask you if the screws u used to mount the rad on the case, were included on the NZXT box? or did you use other ones? I'm pretty sure mine came with the long ones to hold the fans to the rad, but not sure if I have the short ones... If you can tell me, I will appreciate it.
