To be honest byrna is on lower end of feet per second(280- 295) but it's size and weight is similar to an actual firearm, which is why I went with byrna instead of another device with higher feet per second!

Everyone who does not know this listen up, There is a very small Allen key right at the back of the Byrna above your hand ,find an Allen key that fits and turn it until it stops ( not until it brakes) and you will actually increase the velocity by about 25 FPS alone right there. Little trick I learned from a good friend over at J & L Defense

I personally hate the one i ordered. I hate how it drops my attachment below my finger location. It also no longer fits my holsters. I removed mine a few days after purchase.It did fire perfectly with it on just like yours. Great video as always sir and glad you love yours.
Hey bro, you gotta do what's best for you. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the Olight Mini Baldr, laser light combo on it. Finding a holster would be challenging to say the least. That said, it looks sweet! It also functions better than expected. I'll probably take the laser off and put it on one of my firearms. That'll make finding a holster to fit much easier. Omg yes they should have made a holster that fits with the attachment I end up using a universal nylon holster that fits a large handgun but it did add a few fps
@@robertjones5138 yeah it added FPS to mine as well. If someone is going to keep it for just home defense this attachment is great. I own two of the byrnas and would use it on the one I keep on my nightstand but I definitely do not like how far I had to drop my finger to activate my light laser combo. I have to agree with RedZone though it does look good.

I just discovered your channel today, and I love it. I will definitely watch more to learn about the Byrna launchers. I just started shooting CO2-powered guns so I'm on a steep learning curve.
I am on the verge of buying one. I have been watching all your videos and just want to say thank you. You have provided a lot of information over the months and it seems you are very fond of your Byrna as it seems to be more prominent in your videos. You certainly do deserve much higher subscribers and viewership! So let's talk about the boost. It would certainly be cheaper to buy the HD and add on the boost instead of buying the HD XL version (Kits). So with that being said, let's talk about is it worth it? Is it worth it to make the launcher bigger? You still are limited to 5 rounds. In an emergency situation, I can only assume 1 clip is probably all you're going to get off. So in that case, is it worth it to go to the 12g cartridges? I can see it being worth it if you're taking it out shooting like you would say, an airsoft gun so that you can put more rounds through it. Personally, I feel the boost and the XL were made for that exact reason. Otherwise, I think it's just going to add to its profile size making it less compact.

The extra barrel length will be more difficult to conceal carry. For some this may be a deal breaker. Not for me. Once I find the right holster, I'll carry it the same way I'd carry any full sized service pistol. I'll dress for my carry. It's a trade off. More power! More mags per C02. Less concealability. As for having more mags per C02... When I practice with my Byrna, it's nice to have more mags per C02 to practice with and the proclaimed extra fps... I'm okay with that too! (Smile) 12 gram C02s are also easier for me to get than the 8 gram C02s offered by Byrna. I collect airguns, so I already have a supply of 12 gram C02s. Bottom line, this may not be for everyone. But if this is your nightstand self-defense option, messenger bad or if you can find a holster and don't mind the extra barrel length... This may be a great addition to your Byrna HD launcher. Again it's all personal preference. For me, more power, more mags per C02s, the ability to use 12 gram C02s... This totally works for me! Lol! Again bro, you gotta do what's best for you. Byrna needs to make a fitted holster, that is the solution. Otherwise you gotta go with a nylon universal holster, and even some of those may not work with lights and lasers, depending on your set up. Another thing is, nylon holsters just don't look good in an open carry capacity. I only carry open, because you have no rights that you are not willing to assert, and hiding your piece is not openly asserting your right. Also, In my opinion, concealment increases the likely-hood of being targeted by criminals. If I were a criminal, I would target only those I believe to be unarmed, and if you open carry, no one could mistake you for being unarmed. Not to mention, concealment also makes the weapon less accessible in distressing times. if you are wearing any gun, it needs to look good and be accessible. Just my opinion. Not legal advice.

I’m impressed at the accuracy of these launchers! Shot a small orange from about 10 yards and place the round dead center the first time I shot the gun. Didn’t need to walk the rounds in🤙🏽
FSC rulez!!! High shooting power out of the box plus a fresh CO2 in each mag is something NO other product has.Plus the available upgrades,original or from other producers.
All you gotta do is load the magazine, pop it in the gun, then take it out and one will still be in the chamber, then put another in the mag, load it back in, and you have 5 + 1, 6 total. But I still agree with you and Redzone, they should sell an extended Mag for it.
Waiting for my SD to come any day now. BUT confused, can anyone clear this up: 1) With a new CO2 do you fire one shot in "safe" to release the gas THEN put it in "fire" to shoot balls? 2) if you put in a new CO2, fire maybe 4-5 balls (1 mag) then put the gun away will the gun hold the remaining CO2 gas or will it leak out? Thanks!
In safe, you only puncture Co2, without firing any shot. In fire position, you puncture and fire the shot at the same time by pulling the trigger. Once the co2 is punctured, dont store it in the byrna, it will leak over time, just shoot it as in practice. Refer to manual book also that comes with you SD.

That's a big hole in the front if I recall .68 which would be about the same as either a 20 gauge or 16 gauge shotgun can't remember exactly but they are the equivalent of something between.60 and.70.

I just don't see the advantage to getting it unless you carry 5 or 6 Mags with you....... When carrying the Byrna HD I only Carry two Mags...... The Byrna HD is on the larger size for concealed and would not want it even larger..... Buying different holsters may be an issue also due to the length and thickness of the barrel unless you have a belly hoister or non fitted hoisters....... The only positive I can see is possibly more power but the negatives out way the positives I think. Two to three clips that the regular Byrna HD uses is enough for an altercation......... Also adding extra weight is not worth it to me

I like the simplicity and ease of use with the Byrna. I believe it is more than enough for most less lethal self defense situations. If I need more power I have my Umarex T4E options. That was my concern also. I fired a couple balls, set the gun aside for about a month, then picked it up and fired and it was like no time had lapsed. Felt just as strong and made the same indent on my plywood target as a new CO2 cartridge. Both with the Boost and before.
What a nice looking setup. Do you use only byrna Co2 cartridges? I've heard of them leaking if you use a generic Co2 cartridge. Have you had any problems like that?

No, unfortunately I didn't do a install video for my Byrna Boost. It's really not that hard to install if you follow the instructions they give you. @@redzone1019 Interestingly, Byrna's newest HD Model, available only through Amazon, has been associated with rounds that aren't Byrna's at all! This suggests, unless Amazon is mistaken, that Byrna can fire rounds other than Byrna's. Thanks again for your reply!

I have a small messenger bag that I carry it in until I find a holster. I've concealed carried full sized service pistols for years. With the right holster and dressing for your carry... It shouldn't be a issue. I'll make it work. (Smile)

I’m impressed at the accuracy of these launchers! Shot a small orange from about 10 yards and place the round dead center the first time I shot the gun. Didn’t need to walk the rounds in🤙🏽

Redzone your like me when you shoot"double tap" I really wish byrna would have made there magazine hold at least 6 instead of 5 rounds!

All you gotta do is load the magazine, pop it in the gun, then take it out and one will still be in the chamber, then put another in the mag, load it back in, and you have 5 + 1, 6 total. But I still agree with you and Redzone, they should sell an extended Mag for it.

Waiting for my SD to come any day now. BUT confused, can anyone clear this up:
1) With a new CO2 do you fire one shot in "safe" to release the gas THEN put it in "fire" to shoot balls?
2) if you put in a new CO2, fire maybe 4-5 balls (1 mag) then put the gun away will the gun hold the remaining CO2 gas or will it leak out?

In safe, you only puncture Co2, without firing any shot.
In fire position, you puncture and fire the shot at the same time by pulling the trigger.
Once the co2 is punctured, dont store it in the byrna, it will leak over time, just shoot it as in practice. Refer to manual book also that comes with you SD.

hey you might want to pickup some ammo armor it protect the byrna mags and keep the rounds from just popping out when I carry extra mag in my pocket.

That's a big hole in the front if I recall .68 which would be about the same as either a 20 gauge or 16 gauge shotgun can't remember exactly but they are the equivalent of something between.60 and.70.

I just don't see the advantage to getting it unless you carry 5 or 6 Mags with you....... When carrying the Byrna HD I only Carry two Mags...... The Byrna HD is on the larger size for concealed and would not want it even larger..... Buying different holsters may be an issue also due to the length and thickness of the barrel unless you have a belly hoister or non fitted hoisters....... The only positive I can see is possibly more power but the negatives out way the positives I think. Two to three clips that the regular Byrna HD uses is enough for an altercation......... Also adding extra weight is not worth it to me

12 gram C02s. Also 12 gram C02s are way easier for me to
get than 8 gram C02s.
And the proclaimed extra fps and having

a deal breaker either. (Smile)

I've carried full sized service pistols for years.
Not a problem, if you have the right holster and
dress for how you carry.

I like the simplicity and ease of use with the Byrna.
I believe it is more than enough for most less lethal self defense
situations.
If I need more power I have my Umarex T4E options.
If I need more than my T4Es, I have my firearms.
Hopefully I'll never have to use any of these options for anything
other than punching holes in paper targets. (Smile)

That was my concern also. I fired a couple balls, set the gun aside for about a month, then picked it up and fired and it was like no time had lapsed. Felt just as strong and made the same indent on my plywood target as a new CO2 cartridge. Both with the Boost and before.

I don't a chronograph, so I can't speak on
how much faster it's going.
That said, it does seem to have lost any power.

@@redzone1019 Interestingly, Byrna's newest HD Model, available only through Amazon, has been associated with rounds that aren't Byrna's at all! This suggests, unless Amazon is mistaken, that Byrna can fire rounds other than Byrna's. Thanks again for your reply!
