This is possibly the most constructive repairs tutorial I have seen. you're a natural. Only saying what's needed, in a very precise and concise way, but also having a useful aside, (brake pipe care). Excellent. top marks.

Had to take hub off mine to fit shoes. First try with hub on resulted in not only bending the metal (same as yourself) but the damn spot weld bits that hold the brake shoe curved parts together `pinged off` and left me with a god awful mess (wrecked). Also (hub on) trying to get the top spring back in, lol, forget it.
    Hubs off for the win.
    Great vid, many thanks.

Cant remember, but is there a gasket to be replaced if that happens? also.. on a front wheel with free wheeling hubs, that 'll make it more complex? It's been at least 7 years since I looked at mine.. (sat in the garden for about 5 of those years)

Curious if you have more details on the spray lubricant used? I am seeing ceramic paste for sale but no sprays. Great video. Helped me today greatly.

Hi Chris, great content. At 17:00 you mention centralising the shoes, please can you advise how to do this?

I assume by the after comments, that that happens naturally after driving, braking, and is why re-adjustment is necessary.

I am a QC inspector and i would be hard pressed to measure the ID of the drum with that setup, rod and feeler gauge; the positionning and angles of the rod are so critical that several pairs of markings needed to be made on the ID with a caliper and a marker; a proper bore gauge has 3 points; also is it possible that a new drum that has been turned at the factory is out-of-round? guess so.

So, I guess the 110 drum system is superior to the 90's which only have one snail adjuster.
