I recently purchased Mabuchi 24v motors (2mm shaft) and the flexibledrive tubing ( 1mm ID, 2mmOD), Intend to remoter couple Athearn SW1500. I believe the worm gear shaft is 3mm. Can I pull the coupling off the worm gear and enlarge that end of inner hose to force fit to the drive tube.? If you have a previous video on this please let me know. As always appreciate the great build and upgrade lessons.

You can totally ream the end of the tubing to fit the worm shaft, just use a sharp knife blade. I think the 2022 Holiday Special series that I did with the blue box SD40T-2 shows it. But, that is what I did on that locomotive - enlarge the end of the tubing and it fits no problem and so far is much better than the original u-joints and shafts! Those Mabuchi motors, they are getting very tough to get but they are by far and away better than anything you've ever used before!!
