    It’s worth noting that Gray and Lyon can both do either static and dynamic styles, they just specialise in one more than the other.

    It never even clicked in my head how much he does this but great analysis, the symbolism of the fights and powers goes deeper than I ever realized and I straight up consider myself a huge fan of his works so I’m surprised I missed that

    The one thing i hate the most in fairy tail is using fanservice between serious moments that takes away credibility of that moment . Now yes there are other series that have the same recipe when it involves fanservice. Although, fairy tail takes the cakes when it comes to dragging this all the way til lucy loses her clothes

      I'm re-reading the Fairy Tail manga, I'm at the Grand magic games arc and BELIEVE ME, it doesn't happen as much as people think pr remember. Yes we have naked woman, but mostly in after fight scenarios were they're relaxing ,or a hella small fractual moment where the angle of the fight shows like, Erza's butt, but it's never a focus of the scene. Even the most obvious cases like Bikini Lucy VS Minerva or Tartaros girl torturing Erza, in the manga the moments are portrayed very seriously, and specially in Erza's case, stripping her naked makes sense to humilliate her considering her character and her relationahip with her armor.
      I mean, it was a big thing in the past how the anime focused much more on her naked rather than the fact she was being toetured, like the manga

      @@vcamv2354 oh dont get me started on grand magic games . Tell me hows is it a team that hasnt even trained for like 7 years came back and won grand magic games like come on . The thing about fairy tail there is no “risk involved “ its so obvious who going to beat who . I like fairy tail but sometimes i wish they lose

      @@Raulc713 They were still hella strong, Gajeel and Juvia who joined the main team later joined it, and, if you don't remember, Ultear made them able to use Second Origin, meaning, they could use more magic power than normal. Also, they've been fighting during ghe grand magic games, that served as training as well. They didn't became pathetic just because they were "frozen" for 7 years, they just weren't as strong and dominating as before, but Fairy Tail.has always been depicted as much stronger than the normal guilds around them. Also, a lot of the games weren't based on just raw strenght, if you don't remember. It wasn't just "fight fight fight". So yeah, they won, fair and square.

      @@Raulc713 well, they lost! They lost to Acnologia! They lost once to Phantom. Man, as you said yourself, many shounen also suffer from that! There's almost no risk involved cause you know the MC's will always win. That's why they tend to have other consequences to compensate. Also, I won't judge FT for not being heavy on consequence or MC loss. If the series gives satisfactory reasons why they win, it's enough. And though I agree during the final arc we had a lot of debatable moments, and even some stupid fake out deaths, doesn't mean the fact we know who'll win suddenly takes away from everything, otherwise, no Shounen would be fun cause you know in 90% of them, rhe good guys side will always come up victorious

      @@vcamv2354 there a few issues i hate about fairy tail. And the one thing it made me drop this series is when during the grand magic games when erza literally pull out an armor out of nowhere where she can negate magic against minerva . And the only explanation it was given during that fight was because “shes erza” now i love erza as a character and backstory is really sad and admirable. But sometime it doesn’t do her enough justice for the way hiro is trying to make her a mary sue

    I can see the trope but when it often being use , it will quickly become boring to readers. Like ice vs ice , fire vs fire, magic key vs magic key, gravity vs gravity. Yeah the concept is similar, just different in interpretation or presentation but its too redundant when happen multiple time even in a single arc

    • @trashiki
      @trashiki Місяць тому +7

      If the way the powers interact with each other and the characters involved is different then I don’t see how it’s redundant.
      Natsu vs Zancrow is nothing like Natsu vs Totomaru.
