@ 7:20 😭 OMG ! I pray mrs. Project wrong way was clearance and no where near in harms way ! She absolutely deserves a medal ( bronze or silver star ) , hazardous ( combat ) pay . Won’t comment on what / how but thanking the good lord everyone is alright . Last year I helped a couple move and we had to unload an engine and transmission . I was against the way they wanted to unload it but I kept quiet until the mrs. decided to try to put the brakes on a 700 pound or so load on wheels . I yelled “ get out of the way ! “ she escaped injury and was able to laugh it off slightly . My heart jumped out of my chest . Needless to say , I’m very over protective of women . Will try not to let it infect your channel . I know it was an accident and thankful your both unharmed ( especially the pretty mrs. After you shouted “ intercourses ! “ and I recovered from rolling in the aisles , I got serious and said “ lower the engine “ . Learned a long time ago that engine hoists are unstable when the engine and/or engine / trans are hoisted high up . Never move a hoist any more than needed and drop the load down ASAP . The legs on that hoist aren’t very wide so it’s not very stable . Yes , it’s designed to accommodate any chassis width and clear any suspension obstruction but it’s still dangerous as we found out . I’d say the video lived up to its name when the right leg caught the drivers front tire . Welcome to Project Wrong Way nation! What kind of cruiser do you have? And sadly we are on the west coast, but I won’t rule out any future road trips. The episodes improve a bit as you go, but thank you for the feedback/compliment. It makes me happy to hear it!
I have a '77 FJ40. I had it shipped here from Oklahoma about 25 years ago and do all my own work on it. I think that makes it even more entertaining to watch your videos, to know I'm not the only one who does stupid things. Like working on the cruiser in the driveway with a slight incline, without the wheels blocked (it was in gear, so I was good) but I was disconnecting the driveshaft. LOL!!! I wish I had that on video, I stopped it from rolling with my foot on the tire then laid there trying to figure out what to do next. And I have long hair, warn your wife if you get her on a creeper. Once you roll on your hair... stuck. I need to catch up on all the other videos! I found you because I need to get rid of my rear drum brakes. Can you tell me more about that axle you muscled in, in another video and why you swapped? Appreciate the entertainment, rock on!
I found a pair of axles from a 1978 Landcruiser, those are a more modern version and find splined, which just means they are a bit stronger. The front axle had disc brakes already, so I didn’t have to worry about a swap. The rear axle had drums on it, but when I was thinking about fixing the drums I just decided to do a disc swap instead. I was on the Internet and everyone said it would be easier to just go to disc. So I’ve been doing the swap and it’s not that bad, I should be filming today and hopefully get something out about all the parts that you need. And if I can do the swap anybody can so that should be helpful. Since you have a 77FJ 40 I’m guessing you already have Front disc brakes. So really all you have to do is the rear. And I will warn my wife about her hair, I hate to have it get stuck in a wheel LOL
Thank you for the response! If you are on FB, look me up. My 40 is my cover photo. I was planning to get it out (my 40 that is, I have watched a few of your videos, ha!) but we got about 6" of snow overnight. I need to replace the manifold gasket, I drove it with the leak last summer and kind of enjoyed it being loud and backfiring, whenever I saw someone on the sidewalk I let off the gas and got a nice POP! :) If you ever venture through NE Ohio, you both definitely have a place to crash!

OH MY GOSH! Just when I think you couldn't do anything dumber, you go and do this, AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF! Mission accomplished, you got the motor and transmission out just like you said you would. Ben, dude, be careful, maybe get some help so you don't kill your wife in the process.
I could totally see things unfolding the way they did moments before they happened. But that's what keeps us loyal viewers coming back for more. Keep up the...work. Lol good job man.
WOW!
Almost made it.
It's easier if you separate the engine and transmission to remove engine I think it took me two hours to take engine out and it wasn't that bad.
Paul Sthormes definitely, will do.
Flat hilarious!!!
Man I forget about these old episodes! Glad you’re enjoying them buddy.
Men, let this be an example. NEVER be afraid to read directions/manual to do something properly!!!
Matt Johnson everything I do should clearly be done the opposite way for optimal safety and performance. You are %100 correct.
OH-EM-effing-G!!!!! Hahahaha!!!! Female cruiser head here, do you live near Ohio? I need to hang out with you guys! Best pandemic viewing next to Tiger King!!!
And now for my next trick....
Just glad she has cat like reflex’s...

I like your videos, very entertaining and informative at the same time. I myself, here in the land of Oz, have my own FJ40 project that is just starting. Keep em coming ole mate.👍
Appreciate that legend! What year 40 series? And Spec?
@@projectwrongway9127
She is a 1971 model built Late April 1971. Petrol with a 4 speed gearbox. Side cap oil fill with oil filter on the opposite side of the block. Going full ground up restoration. Will have power steering and disc brakes when completed and a hand built full rear style side tray. .And some other upgrades along the way.🙄. Check out Project FJ45, this guy is doing a great job.
Sorry should be FJ45 Project.
dude's hilarious hahaha Science honey!
8hour I’m a strong believer in science/magic.
Just found your channel.
With that awesome moustache you just have to be a cop. Am i right?
Mustaches belong to all kinds of careers, but I like your thinking.
Omg Dude man what a show please be careful.
I’ve gotten a little bit better... but the heavy lifting is all done.
how about some of your out takes , the bits you left out please
Brother, it’s all outtakes. I cut dull humdrum content. Any mistakes or something worth seeing gets included. I can see what I have, but anything left out is boring. Trust me on that. Thanks for watching man.
@@projectwrongway9127 it cant be boring mate no way , keep hum coming.
Mike 1960 thanks man, appreciate the feedback.
Some people have more money than brains. You don't seem to have any money either.. 🤣
Probably the most accurate review of my show. Well said Gary!
So......that's engine removal. BAHAHAHAHAH It is all good brother. One step closer to selling the Honda.
I’m getting closer every day man.
It's possssssssible that engine removal is not your thing.
camann33 no it is not! I’ve learned what not to do when I install the 2F, but I learned at a cost...
@@projectwrongway9127 Videos very entertaining. Thanks for them.
camann33 thank you, just trying to show not everyone’s a pro out there. And mistakes will happen haha.
Why is this me in 20 years
20 years?! Shit man I’m not that old. Maybe I am?
holly shit 7.21
Bald man almost kills attractive... engine.
Eh... kills it. But, I wasn’t keeping the motor. It was always going to be a 2F on deck.
HOLLY SHIT!
That’s exactly what I thought.
250 subscribers to money.... this one should get you there :)
a71landcruiser bout time to start doing this for a living eh?
@@projectwrongway9127 you do provide it all: fashion, advice, special interest, and great stunts. What could possibly go wrong?
a71landcruiser nothing. Not a damn thing. ;)
Idol car toyota landcruiser
I’m sure in real life that was not funny in the least. Worried you damaged the motor, your wife. The land cruiser and your cherry picker.
Moving on Next
It was a mess! We laughed about it later...
Can you come remove the motors from my cars. I like being your style
Depends, you happen to live in Australia?
If yer gunna be dumm ya better be tuff
Or fast.
I thank he needs to work on lawnmower engimes becouse he will be in a car when it blows up because there's trany fluid on the spark plugs
Lawn mower could be bad news too man, what with the spinning blades and all.
This is just a waste of time..
juliansskadins accurate as hell review, and it doesn’t improve much from here.
@@projectwrongway9127 Good luck with your project, it's a nice car! I have too little time to look at all your mistakes, need to work on my car :) But i am sure, your videos will be usefull for many guys out there!
Thanks man, it’s a labor of love. The show is just a way to document the disaster.
