Contact point was off on the higher strings. Violin has a slightly raspy sound, meaning a) the strings are old b) there is a crack or open seam c) the bow needs to be re-haired d) the sound post is out of place. Vibrato is tight and uncontrolled, giving a tense feeling that shouldn’t be there. Spiccato was rushed. Skids were common, a sign of either a bow needing to be re-haired or improper placement of the bow or both.
Can anyone give me tips how to learn the part that is played in 0:04? I find it the most challenging part in the entire piece and has always confused me how to play it properly.
It's played on both D string and G string, I can't find sheet music so I don't know the notes, but it's basically played with two strings and you use your fingers on both at the same time, but in the end you play last notes on G string

Rhythms were inconsistent. Vibrato is tense and uneven. Instrument has a raspy sound to it (could be old strings, an open seam, cracked front/back plate, damaged or shifted sound post, or cracked bridge). Contact point is inconsistent and gets closer to the fingerboard on upbows, a sign of incorrectly holding the bow.
@rost-gk8fc Then he should he able to produce a video showing the “correct” way to play. If not, he’s simply talking out of thin air with no substance to back it up.
If you're a beginner, i dont think you should get anything too expensive. but if you can, ask music shops around you! Usually, they can point you in the right direction.
@@Ficu19902 If this is the case, then it could be either your instrument, or the way you play! If you're bowing at an angle (like on the side of the bow) then that could be making your sound quieter, if you want it to be louder and prouder. Also, pay attention to where you have your bow placed. Im sure you know the closer you play to the bridge, the louder the sound. I think you should continue with your current instrument, and if it is an instrument issue, ask and look around and try out different violins. Its all trial and error :)

Very clean glissandos and vibrato. I think the you messed up a bit on the eighth notes but it was very minute. Other than that very good!

Depends on what kind of tone you want. Closer to the fingerboard will give you a softer sound but honestly it doesn't matter THAT much.
