Excellent video - with a very informative and educational commentary! This is undoubtably the best site for displaying farm machinery..!! Keep it up..!!
I pulled a 40 foot sunflower disk for Charles and Brian Sunday with their 9620RX. I was going 6 mph throttled back to 1790 rpm. The Degelman tool looks like a great way to disk the stalks quickly
Very cool. I saw the 9620RX and 9460R parked on the By-pass across from Hutson around noon in Sunday around noon. I took pics of the 9620RX parked for a thumbnail pic. Are they not running the DMI crumbler on the Sunflower this year?
Dang, that's a far cry from when my Dad turned me loose on a Massey 44 with a 7' drag disk. I think it may have been 4 mph. Didn't even have an umbrella! Natural air conditioning!
Those were the days. I grew up in the late 70’s and the early 80’s. I had a neighbor that still ran a pair Massey-Harris 44s along with two 970 Agri-Kings. They were neat to see in the field.
I own a 40 foot model. Works very well in fall for spring seedbed prep and to level out sprayer ruts. My typical working depth on canola or cereal stubble is 1" - 1.5" so horsepower requirements are actually quite reasonable. I pull the unit at 9.5mph with 500 HP no problems.
They need to engineer a large caster set up for the wing wheels. They rut the ground pretty bad when turning. i would think that will lead to maintenance issues over the long term.
They look like they leave a great seedbed. It looks really even and there aren’t and clumps. They do also cause a lot of compaction. The guys around here use the in the spring to get the fields ready to plant. Their wet spots are getting bigger every year because the water can’t soak in. They don’t do any heavy tillage, just run the high speed disc.
This is used here in Kentucky in the fall to work ground from corn to wheat. In June they cut the wheat and double crop beans into the wheat stubble. In October they cut the soybeans and the. Deep rip the ground 18 inches. See this video of tillage a year latter m.ua-cam.com/video/eL6jbJWhW7Q/v-deo.html
Kinze actually bought out degelman and have there own models in kinze paint. We just demo'd one a week ago and actually had better luck running at 7.5 mph than 10 mph the packing wheels in back were not leaving those traces in the dirt and when we were finishing the field looked like a concrete floor. Awesome machine but I'd steer clear of the 33' models because of transport width the 26' model is a lot narrower in transport and better visability. Be a lot of country roads you couldn't get down with 33'.
Degelman was having allot of growth with Pro-Till sales that the Degelman factory could not keep up with. Degelman has partnered with Kinze to have Kinze manufacture the Pro-Till. The Kinze Mach-Till offers expanded sales through the wide range of Kinze dealers. It is a win win for both companies. Kinze did not by Degelman.
I am always wondering how long it takes to pay for this equipment. Lots of "seat time" regardless. Folks eat bread and grains and have no clue what it takes to get it to the table
So the 40 foot model must be working that 620hp tractor pretty hard. Guess you almost need one of 700+hp Big Buds to truly get that bad boy a serious workout.
Kinda intresting the difference between this and our vertical tillage tool like our Salford but how they both are pulled about the same speed but work completely different styles
My question is what kinda head did they used at harvest? Stalk master or really aggressive snapping rollers like precision or calmer?? That makes a big difference on how that thing will work. Looks like a nice machine. Should be able to quite a lot done at that speed. Might need a parachute to slower down on the end rows lol.
We have the 26 footer, you cover a LOT of acers fast so we don't have the widest model. It has cut down the times and number of passes it takes to make a good seed bed by a lot. When we have a very wet year and have lots of straw we use it on the dryland too and set it to 1 inch depth so we don't disturb the soil too much.
The Pro-Till advantage is speed, individual blades that flex over stones and that it is one pass. The Wishek advantage is it really plows up the ground deep. It depends on what you need on your farm to decide which fits the operation best.
The standard answer is 15hp/ft @ 2 to 2.5" deep. As you go deeper the more hp you need. Wheat Ground (2") 15hp/ft, Corn Ground (3.5-4")18-20hp/ft, Potato Ground (Sandy) (4") 20+hp/ft.
Hey BTP I saw a Claas Xerion with a mower traveling down the road today. It was so bizzare looking. The cab was rotated around. No idea who it belongs to. Was seen near Shippensburg Pa off Rt.11
Going from corn to wheat they like to leave the field firmer for the sprayers and harvest. Then soybeans go in right after wheat. When the beans are cut they subsoil the field 18 inches deep. The Pro-Till is not vertical tillage. It is just a disk that moves fast.
They do a good job. I tried to show that with the clip of the stone in the video where the disk cruises over it. Each of the blades is mounted separately so when they encounter rock just that blade, pops up and rolls over the stone and then reengage the ground you don’t have something like an entire axle were all the blades, pop up and jab back down the soil.
bigtractorpower, but does the John Deere Quad track ride smoother than the case or versatile, because a bunch of people in Saskatchewan are switching their cases for deeres
bigtractorpower ok my book just says for best results go 10 to 12 i find 11 works very good one more question wat about putting ridged disks on the back too?
I have not had a chance to film a Joker. From what i read about them they are a good tillage tool. A key difference I have seen between a Joker and Pro-Till is the Joker can not work wet soil. You can see in this video the Pro-Till can blast through a muddy spot to help dry it out and keep rolling. I saw a Joker in New York that was parked that had tried to work a wet spot and it was completely plugged with mud.
Finally someone offering a tillage tool that will last generations! Thanks for listening to farmers..
👍
I don't often make comments but this tool works.
I like this Degelman disc. Strongly built and effisient
Very effective tillage implement 👍👍
Love the way it beats the ground up! Great looking seed bed
Excellent video - with a very informative and educational commentary! This is undoubtably the best site for displaying farm machinery..!! Keep it up..!!
Thank you for watching. I enjoy getting to film and learn about farm machines. Degelman makes a great tillage tool.
Wow that big rig gave me goosebumps
Looks like its a very well made implement. Massive frame & large tires. Thanks again BTP
It is a tough tillage machine. Well built and does a nice one pass tillage job in the fall and spring.
This machine does the best work I've ever seen on your channel. Pretty impresive
The Pro-Till is a great fall and spring tillage machine.

They need to engineer a large caster set up for the wing wheels. They rut the ground pretty bad when turning. i would think that will lead to maintenance issues over the long term.
I totaly agree. A expensive machine like this shouldn't do that. But it makes great work on the field
If you skip every other pass it's not as bad
A caster wheel would eliminate the burning. Although as the headlands are disked last so the burn is knocked out.
Man that depth adjustment is slick!
It’s a nice design.
Another great detailed video thank you BTP
Thank you for watching.
Very impressive piece of machinery. Great review on it. Thank you

Nice implement a little bit deeper maybe to really bring the stalks out of the ground sizing up the chaff looks good.
Amazing tiller, I guess one pass with that machine and the field is ready, great video BTP
Yes it is a one pass tillage machine. Less tillage time leads to faster seeding time.
Great job for one pass till ,great vid ty
Another great video. Love to see different manufactures implements in action. Love that big JD also!
Thank you for watching. The 9620R and Pro-Till are impressive machines.
Thank You for another great video Bigtractorpower
Thank you for watching. Glad you liked it.
Each blade has its own independent bearing I wonder how that will hold up?
I’d much rather take one apart than a whole gang at once. As he said there are three seals and sealed bearings.
I am always wondering how long it takes to pay for this equipment. Lots of "seat time" regardless. Folks eat bread and grains and have no clue what it takes to get it to the table
Very cool video and really need to see the walk though of the machine
Thank you for watching.
Do something on the old tractors 1940 love your show
So the 40 foot model must be working that 620hp tractor pretty hard. Guess you almost need one of 700+hp Big Buds to truly get that bad boy a serious workout.
I love this video
I would love to see a head to head between a good high speed disc an a minimum tillage tool like a Great Plains turbo-till
It would be neat to show. If I have that opportunity, I will film it.
Kinda intresting the difference between this and our vertical tillage tool like our Salford but how they both are pulled about the same speed but work completely different styles
I would like to film a Salford. They make interesting tillage machines.
My question is what kinda head did they used at harvest? Stalk master or really aggressive snapping rollers like precision or calmer?? That makes a big difference on how that thing will work. He's flying!
The Pro-Till can cover a bunch of ground.
Awesome Video Buddy!!
Big John Deere Power
Awesome video, interesting.
Thank you for watching. The Pro-Till is a stand out tillage tool.
We have one of these machines they are very nice and also popular here where we have lots of irrigated land.
Very cool. What size do you run?
We have the 26 footer, you cover a LOT of acers fast so we don't have the widest model. It has cut down the times and number of passes it takes to make a good seed bed by a lot. 👍👍👍
Awesome video 👍. 9620R when you need to get the job done quickly and effectively.🚜🇺🇸🚜
Thank you for watching.
Saw one of those just today!!!
Very cool.
Great video. How much does the implement weight?
Very interesting! Nice 🚜💪
Thank you for watching.
Just had breakfast .thank you.
Good espetacular parabéns 🇦🇫👍👍
green monster, nice work, thumb up, greetings
Such great machine
Degelman makes an impressive tillage machine 😁👍
Looks like someone in the Oilfield built it.
Interesting to see this disc. That thing can cover some ground.
It is built for speed.
THE BEST !
👍. Thank you for watching.
One would wonder about transmission and drive line wear running at those speeds?
John W Cool.
I love that. Quote. Made by a company overseas.lol
Good video
Thank you for watching.
Nice!
Thank you for watching.
@@bigtractorpower i com from germany
Very impressive B.T.P.,but what about fuel consumption per hour running the Degelman with this 9620R?.
About 18 gal an hour.
Thank you BTP. I would not like to be the one that has to change a broken disk not alot of room to work on them.
The Pro-Till lifts up pretty high and each disk is separate so they just pop off. Most disks have a 7 to 12 inch spacing between blades.
@@bigtractorpower They are not stacked on a long axel?
Scruffy prefect punctuation!
great info
Thank you for watching.
It definitely turns the soil over. The tractor wasn’t even wheezing as pulled the plow.
It was moving right along.
Sim a JD guy but I’d like to see a quadtrack hooked to this
It would be neat to see a Quadtrac with a Pro-Till.
Im running one
@@wesleyhofer3141 let's see it!
Is that an air deflation system on the tractor
Yes each tire has a gauge built in.
Hello BTP. How does the Pro-Till compare with the Wishek? Aside from speed of operation, what are the advantages / disadvantages? Thank you!
The Pro-Till advantage is speed, individual blades that flex over stones and that it is one pass. The Wishek advantage is it really plows up the ground deep. It depends on what you need on your farm to decide which fits the operation best.
bigtractorpower Thank you.
Fine - as long as there's no rocks... 10 mph + basketball-sized or more rock and you'll be doing a LOT of blade changing..
I tried to show in the video this disk can handle rocks because each blade is mounted independently and it can flex over a stone.
I guess my ProTill question on the Wishek disk video was timely. (;
Yes it was. You never know what I might be filming. 👍
I like it.
It is a well built machine.
Otimo video amigo 👍👏
Thank you for watching.
Wonder what kind of h.p. you would need in our sandy type soil mixtures we have down in the southeast?
I am not sure. If you would like to contact Jason at Degelman I am sure he can answer. You can email me at contact@bigtractorpower.com

Ok thank you for the info.
I figure you'd spend more time working on it then ploughing
Man I wish I had one of those when I was discing stocks looks like it does a great job how much are they
It does a great job. It’s heavy duty and leaves a nice seed bed.
Q maravilla estas maquinas.,. Felicitaciones
Hey BTP I saw a Claas Xerion with a mower traveling down the road today. It was so bizzare looking. The cab was rotated around. No idea who it belongs to. Was seen near Shippensburg Pa off Rt.11
Neat sighting. The Xerion can run frontward and backward. I would like to film one mowing like that.
What happens to the blades when you hit a big rock @ ten miles per hour??
The blades are independent so they roll over the rock or obstruction.
At least with independent disks you don't break the whole gang been there done that CT rocks would love to break this rig
👍 What is "Ballpark" cost of this machine....???? Will it eliminate chisel plowing??? NICE UPDATE ..😎 😍😍😍😍😍
The 26ft will run $130,000 list. I have a video on the way this weekend featuring a Pro Till 26.
vertical tillage is the best way to destroy your yields and cause a bunch of compaction
Going from corn to wheat they like to leave the field firmer for the sprayers and harvest. Then soybeans go in right after wheat. When the beans are cut they subsoil the field 18 inches deep. The Pro-Till is not vertical tillage. It is just a disk that moves fast.
which is exactly
vertical tillage.
Is it verti till?Or just discing?
I wonder how the blades take stony and rocky ground.
They do a good job. I tried to show that with the clip of the stone in the video where the disk cruises over it. BTP, does the 9RX ride smoother than the rival 4 track tractors?
Triples do run smoothly. Much smoother than metric sized duals. They turn smoother on headland than a 9RX. Tracks will pull faster than tires.
bigtractorpower, but does the John Deere Quad track ride smoother than the case or versatile, because a bunch of people in Saskatchewan are switching their cases for deeres
Is that Garrett farms . Are they replacing the disk?
Yes. They tried out the Pro-Till on this field. Allot of farms here treat out a machine on limited acres and judge it after the following harvest.
High speed is fine, but not too many fields are smooth enough on first pass to be able to roll that fast without throwing you out of the seat.
My question is why three tires, why don't you just put on a set of 50inches floating wheels. Want it be cheaper.
Is that the fastest that u can go with that protill
10 mph is the recommend speed for the best results.
bigtractorpower ok my book just says for best results go 10 to 12 i find 11 works very good one more question wat about putting ridged disks on the back too?
I am not sure on the Ridged disk. That would be a good question for Degelman if that type of set up would work well.
How deep does the frost go in this part of the U.S.? Ron
No very deep. The ground rarely freezes for more than a day or two. Some years I can mow my lawn 12 months a year.
How much does those 9620r s cost in Canadian dollars.
Deere.com should have that info. I am not sure. It’s the biggest tractor John Deere offers so it will be $$$.
yeup. thats how everyone should till. 1 pass
Is this better than the European Horsch Joker?
I have not had a chance to film a Joker. From what i read about them they are a good tillage tool. A key difference I have seen between a Joker and Pro-Till is the Joker can not work wet soil. You can see in this video the Pro-Till can blast through a muddy spot to help dry it out and keep rolling. bigtractorpower Would you consider visiting Europe and make some farming videos there?Sorry for my english, and thanks for replying.
I would like to do that. I enjoy seeing European farming on UA-cam. It is just a matter of time to make a big trip.
So it's more aggressive than a vt
Yes it can be set to be more aggressive than a VT or to run light on the surface like a VT in the spring.
Triples!!!!!!! that is all
Plenty of traction.
What is the point of having 12 tires on the tractor?
More traction and less compaction.
620 horse spins 8 tires pretty quick
More traction, less compaction and smaller tire repair and replacement cost.
Cheaper than a deere?
I am not sure on prices. Deere’s high speed is built by Norwood. The Degelman is built heavier.

if someone has enough money to buy all this equipment, you have enough money to retire
This farm has been farming since the 1800’s. It supports several families. The big equipment makes sure the crops are planted and harvested on time.
where is this thing manufactured
They are built in Regina, Saskatchewan. Kinze is also building the Pro-Till for Degelman in Williamsburg, Iowa.
Rocky land anyone
The Pro-Till is built well to handle stones. Each blade is individual so they flex over rocks.
No problems on rocky soil. But if you see a large rock sitting 12" on top of the ground I'd probably either pick the rock or go around it.
Pro till seen be doing a very good job if I win the lottery power ball I will get a pro till.
They are an impressive tillage tool.
Muy encima solo rueda la rastra, debería de ser más profundo para tener mejores resultados
👍👍👍😉
👍🏻🇺🇸
12 tires more traction
More traction, less compaction and smaller tire repair and replacement cost.
What happens if you don't go 10mph is the quality not there and that's the reason for going faster.
The machine is built to move fast. If you run slower the seed bed will not be as good.
