Man! That's definitely a heavy disk looking at how the tires seem to be breaking traction just a little bit and that disk is only 26ft wide! Wheeeww! They out there getting it done! Excellent camera footage brother! Keep em coming!
Love seeing the cars and trucks pulling over for the big equipment... you don’t see much of that here in CNY. They all try to race you so that they don’t have to pull over.. great video Jason. Love watching your videos.. you ever thought of doing a taping around the Syracuse NY area?
We used our Wishek disc this fall for the first time in 10 years. The last time we used it was in 2012 when it was so dry. This year was the same. The ground was really hard this fall. We tried our usual ripper but it was pulling some huge chunks. So we disced the corn ground & then we actually ripped it after we finally got some rain.
those garnett lads are a mighty professional bunch, all the video footage you show is interesting but this farm seems just to shine that wee bit better jason, great wee vid again mate, regards from fife 🥃🏴
I'd never heard of Wishek disks until you had them on your channel , none here I west central Illinois ! Your under frame shots showing how much those gangs flex were interesting ! 30 inch blades are truly massive ,but I guess they are doing tillage for 2 crops with the wheat then beans !!
I love these videos. Matt is a regular on here I see him a lot. What is the name of the farmer? I see these guys a lot I my fuel hauling travels in KY.
Great Vlog, these machines are very impressive, and efficient, the 4 tractors would be covering just over 60 acres an hour so 2 hours in that 100 acre paddock doing a primary pass, is very effective, thanks
John Deere makes a seed drill that will plant wheat in standing cornstalks eliminating the need to spend time and money to prepare the field. The farmer by my house does it with great results.
This farm likes the Wishek disk’s for three reasons. They break up the ground every other year to reset and smooth the seed bed. The following year they subsoil it to break compaction after wheat and double crop soybeans. They like to bury the stalks to reduce disease and fungus carry over from year to year. The third reason is to reduce vole infestations in the fields that ruin sections of wheat. I film at a farm that runs a 60ft 1890 to no till wheat after corn. It works well but without tillage they find allot of extra wear on the drills disk blades. 60ft 1890 no tilling wheat over corn at ua-cam.com/video/nQJRYAYyLSQ/v-deo.htmlsi=-69keIvv8L90Y7Ga
hi nice tractors where is this field and plant corn there again how long does it take to come up and what kind of seed is it . big tall corn. do you spreed liqued manure on it and lime also thanks.
Great video as always. I was wondering, what is the difference between a field cultivator and a chisel plow? Maybe you could cover this in a future video. Thanks BTP.
That would be a good topic. Short answer a chisel plow has shanks that dig 9 to 12 inches deep. A field cultivator has sweeps that run 2-4 inches. Primary tillage vs secondary tillage.
@@nellsonstout7001....the only reason I caught it was that camera angle on the frame of the plough. I saw the disks riding up and down with the undulations of the field, but moving independently of the chassis. Some are probably very basic and cost A LOT LESS money than others.
Deplorable Libertarian these discs are the absolute top of the line. No attention to detail spared. I think I’d rather use one than moldboard if I had to tear up some old hay ground
*bigtractorpower* I know that times are hard for alot of you right now and if anyone is feeling low or sad I just hope you guys feel better and know you are not alone! Cost effectiveness. It’s a lot cheaper to put duals all the way around the tractor, same reason some of the tractors he films run narrow triples vs big metric duals
More disc less speed.too much bouncing at that seed, disc doesn't keep a steady depth when bouncing. My dad preached that to me when I first started driving tractor, makes ground rough, that bounce he was experiencing was from the previous fast tillage .
The drone shot from behind the disc really shows the great job the Wishek does.
Always enjoy visiting with Matt !!
Those disc’s turn over a lot of dirt,,,, 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇨🇱
Very relaxing watching these videos.
I like watching these disks work. The field sounds a little rocky.
Thanks 👋👍
Love to watch those big harrows plow
I love these big tillage teams! Thanks BTP
Thank you for watching.
Always love watching your videos
Appreciate you and your hard work.Respect and support from the UK
That's light work for a Wishek 862NT. I used a rental one to break virgin prairie dirt with lots of rocks. Did a great job very tough unit.
Some of your best shots. Getting better all the time.
Thank you for watching. Matt did the drone work and go pro clips while he was working. It sure gives a good perspective of how the disk works.
Really impressing, great upload, thanks!
Nice illustration.
Please improve video quality in your future shootings.
Thanking you.
That disc does a great job

@@bigtractorpower my joy!! 😁😁
No the tires don’t seem to be at all.
We always pulled a spiked tooth harrow connected right behind the disc, so we didn't have to waste so much fuel & time to get ready for planting
Hello! Wishek, the heavyweight champion.
It is a monster tillage tool. 👍👍
Impressive that it turns corn stalks into such a nice seed bed in one pass. What a rewarding job. Wishek really does it right.

Good video I like the narration. Since I am retired I would like to spend a day learning and helping out a local farmer where I could
Thank you for watching. I am sure a farm would be glad to have your help.

Great job from the disc turning over the ground 👍👍
I love the new camera placements.
Those disc really do a good job!
They are impressive. They really plow up the ground.
Great disc and a super video
Wishek builds an impressive tillage tool. Thank you for watching.

Awesome Video!!
Loved that video, great job
Great video btp, always great when you visit Matt.. 👍👍
😁👍👍
That disk means business!
That disks are really heavy duty. Seems overkill to have a 400hp tractor for only 26ft, but like the driver said, they are heavy. Thanks BTP
🤨
Great quality video!!👌👌👌
Thank you for watching.
Too us in the UK, that's the stuff dreams are made of.
big fields, big yokes and big roads to get from one big field to another and no headache trying to steer straight all day with gps, it looks great 👍🏻
Great tillage. I would live to run one of these. Thanks for sharing this video.
😁👍👍
Always interesting videos
Thank you for watching.
Awesome video and drone footage Jason👍👍Go Garnett farms. Could watch these guys all day. 😁GO BTP💪
Looking at the tires they all look the same tall and thin ,have they tried any other size to see if they pulled better ?

They can work up some ground in a hurry. This farm also has five 36ft Wishek 862NT models. The entire fleet will disk 1,000 acres in a day.
Tilling with my Ford county 1124 today 😎😎
That ground is working up beautifully.
Great video and i have told a bunch to check you out and subscribe.

I wonder if anyone out there farms with Rome offsets. They make them for ag too

This fall i used a 10 foot disc and a 2 bottom moldboard plow on a Farmall 400
Very cool.
Thanks again, BTP. I've been wondering where Matt has been this Fall or I've just missed some of the videos he was in.
Thank you for watching. There are two 2020 corn harvest videos with Matt. They are not too far back in uploaded videos from BTP.
@@bigtractorpower Thanks. I'll definitely be looking.

Would like to see 30feet or more with that size of tractor. Will it handle it?
You should pull harrows attached to the disk instead of running separate tractors to level the ground.
Then they would need smaller harrows. Personally I don’t see too much issue with running a bigger harrow on a second tractor
It makes turning on the end rows that much harder too. With just a disk you can turn pretty sharp, with a drag you have to make wider turns.
interesting that the harrow is not plugged by the corn stalks
Does Garnett farm why not use Vertical tillage or No till for wheat seeding?
I never knew that disk ploughs had independent suspension...
Not all necessarily do
@@nellsonstout7001....the only reason I caught it was that camera angle on the frame of the plough. I saw the disks riding up and down with the undulations of the field, but moving independently of the chassis. Some are probably very basic and cost A LOT LESS money than others.
It may have something to do with avoiding damage when hitting rocks in the field
Deplorable Libertarian these discs are the absolute top of the line. No attention to detail spared. I think I’d rather use one than moldboard if I had to tear up some old hay ground
@@nellsonstout7001 I would have to hook 4 or 5 of my tractors together just to be able to pull it
There`s not a better site to see ,as a bunch of John Deere`s tearing the ground up and getting it done !
Thank you for watching.
Good video as always how can I get one of the hats that Matt was wearing
They got those 2020 model 7rs.
In your early videos, there was one farm using Landoll Weatherproofers. Was it this operation?
Si
6 miles a hour is a good speed
Is the ground very hard out there? I don't understand why they need such a heavy disc when they are only cutting 4 inches deep.
The disk is working at 6 inches. They want to bury 250 bu corn residue completely to stop disease carry over to the wheat crop.
Jason, how long did it take Matt and them to plow that 100 acre frield
The 4 tractors can cover it in about two hours.
what spaceing the disks 12 or 9 thank you
They are 12. They allow trash to flow well and bury.
How deep is he disking the corn stalks?
80
6 inches
They are seeding wheat at the end of October and first of November?
Rain rain rain. Still a few hundred acres to go. Lost about 11 days this year.

Do these do a better job than an offset disk? We allways have used an offset
I think it’s hard to beat a Wishek. They work the ground up like a plow and they do not ridge.
@@bigtractorpower thanks!
I sure do not want to be the guy with the harrow... it's awfully bumpy.

That disc is to small for that mammoth of a tractor
It’s a good match on 30 inch blades at 6 inches deep. Did you watch the video where the operator talks about the disk size?

I enjoy the videos. One thing I wish is that you would reduce the usage of the BIG adjective. They are all big.
