I really feel like cutting down on the repetition was a brilliant move, and the percussion drives home this... this quiet rage that doesn't quite come across here. "I HAVE some NEWS. I HAVE some NEWS." She's in perfect control, but filled with such vitriol. It's one of my favorite moments of the album.
This version is absolutely perfect. I wish the album version was as intense...but it's a great song regardless. Ms. Marling, will your music ever fall short of amazing?
guys the tuning is: CGCGGC with a capo on the 2nd fret as you can see. I am sure of that because I've tried like a million different tuning in a day and for example DADDAD is similar but works with no capo. I think she played "Don't ask me why" before this in Open G but then changed guitar (look for the video, you can see it there). Hope I am a little of help, anyway. Laura is amazing! She got me obsessed ahah

I just heard this song on Radio 2 Graham Norton show, he said she's only a kid and her 3rd album. So I had to what her on you tube, coz it just sounded awesome. After watching this I think she is awesome and I'm gonna buy this on iTunes right now!
Forever the best version--- most sincere and powerful. I have to say, all the songs are great, but I was really unhappy with the overproduction of Once I Was an Eagle. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Laura fan and wanted to love the album, but I think it would have been best if she had done it solely acoustic. Still, she rocks! This performance takes my breath away!
