When is Tom Ricketts getting on board? It’s hard to tell if the problem is Tom or Jed buts it’s one or the other. Worst case, it’s both. We’ll be watching. Just missing the playoffs is getting old.
What team going to be/still in the hunt for the postseason doesn't have at least 1 superstar type of player or someone at least playing like one? Philly - Schwarber, Harper, Turner, Wheeler Dodgers- Freeman, Betts, Ohtani Padres - Bogarts, Machado, Tatis, Cease, Darvish, Merrill AZ - Marte, Walker, Carroll Mets - Lindor, Alonso, Vientos Braves - Ozuna, Olson, Sale Brewers - Adames, Contreras, Chourio, That's just the NL can apply the same pattern to the AL teams as well. All of these players are producing superstar like numbers either throughout the entire season or started surging in the 2nd half.
There's a handful of players that have been doing their jobs for the most part these past 2 years. 2 most obvious hitters are Happ & Seiya. Starting Pitching wise its Steele & Assad. Relief Pitching there is absolutely nobody. This team needs to bring in more consistent players that produce in clutch moments. A.K.A a superstar. But they do have some good pieces in that regard that can be relied upon to produce. Shota/Busch/PCA only have this year to back them up but look VERY promising. Parades/Hoerner/Swanson/Amaya/Taillon/Bellinger/Wicks/Brown all have something to prove or reinforce next year.
Jed needs to go get an Eovaldi/Martinez/Manea/Severino teir SP AND a big bat like Santander at a minimum. The bullpen just needs the 1 right guy at the back end, Jansen/Holmes/Finnegan etc. Jed can pick up or call up reinforcements as the season goes on, he's actually better at that than picking free agents.
@@mr.bohner6819With the bullpen: Correct. Jed would be better to build the bullpen by finding projects than signing veteran arms. Boxberger, Fulmer, and Neris were the right signings at the time but we're terrible. The mid season projects are what made the bullpen good. The pitcher teir you're talking about is Tallion. They have that. Get Fried or Burnes. There's not a big bat available that fits on this team right now though. Hopefully it's Caissie!
@@michaelthiel3161 ehh Fried & Burnes will require 5+ years & a very high AAV. I dont see Jed going after them. Maybe he does a trade for Logan Gilbert or one of the Mariners studs but he aint signing either of those 2. But they'll also need to trade for the bat they need too cuz like you said the Free Agent market doesnt have a big bat that fits well on this team. Or if they go the Catcher route it'll take a trade too.. Jed has a VERY TRICKY offseason ahead of him. He has to improve the Rotation depth & lineup 7 men deep while getting the bullpen more leverage production
Craig’s message wasn’t that the current players are the problem. Although there was a lot of issues, there was also a talent gap in the bullpen from the start. His message is the organization process. That’s front office and ownership alignment with coaching and players. Jed saying he needs to get better is getting old. What does Tom say, does he have to do better?
Getting a superstar doesn’t mean success in baseball. Large contracts usually don’t work out too well in the first place. Cubs need to develop players better and get guys that are hungry to win
TOM ISNT THE ONLY OWNER OF THE CUBS, 2 BROTHERS AND HIS SISTER,,,, I believe Tom has the most passion to win, more than the others, he can't just say let's go and spend a bunch of millions without an agreement with the others, if I was him I would buy them out and take soul ownership and go get some division championships, and a few world series rings

I hope they make more moves. I don’t trust the leaders entrusted in making moves, based on their philosophy and performance. How to reconcile.
I think Jed needs to listen to those that have had winning seasons on the team and add. We need to win at least 95 games.
Listen to counsell
