    I just finished making this. It’s my 4th project and I’m so excited! It’s beautiful!!! I scrounged around and found 4 balls of Lilac Frosting and used almost all of it. I also color controlled it as I went. I get so many compliments on it! Thank you! Thank you, for teaching me how to do C2C! It looked so intimidating, but Crystal at Bag-O-Day raves about how you gave her confidence many moons ago, so I knew you would be an excellent teacher, and you didn’t let me down! 😘 Thanks Mikey!

    This is a very interesting stitch. I am wanting to crochet a shawl like I had as a child. This really seams to be the closest that I can find. Thank you very much.

    Just finished making this, my first ever shawl. I LOVE it. Thank you so much for the fabulous tutorial. I only ended up getting 50 rows out of two cakes but I think maybe a smaller needle next time:)

    I seen on another UA-camrs video and she said to make sure when you buy the Caron cakes or Mandalas that they are the same type of skeins. If you don’t, the yarn won’t line up. Use the same dye lots as well.

    For the color change, I tried to find balls in which the outer color of one was the center color of the next and I numbered the labels for the order in which I would need them, so I had a significant amount of each color as I came to it and transitioned into the next ball.

    Hi, I love this! Have you tried this cluster C2C technique for making a rectangle scarf? I remember with the other Corner to Corner technique (using three dc instead of clusters) you were able to show how to turn a triangle into a rectangle, so I wonder if the same could be done with this because I like the look of the clusters, thanks!

    What is the point of the cakes if you have to cut and re-join yarn to doctor it? Wouldn't it be just as easy to use normal balls in different colours?

    Love your videos. Love doing this shawl. I've done 3 or now for my church. However I have a problem with the starting point curling. I have tried to crochet looser but doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

      Damped the starting and lay it flat to dry. It's called blocking and will solve that issue after you completed the project.

    I think the problem is with people saying you are going to fast is that you say ' do a cluster,' and then you whizz along... our memories need jogging continuously so maybe do another video where you just keep teaching really slowly each stitch :) Im following along by stopping the video every stitch but its as 'clear as mud' lol

  • @spoolhead51

    ok does this apply to a c2c baby blanket?

  • @tamaram200
    @tamaram200 7 років тому

    The two balls that were used would have made more sense if ball 2 was ball 1 because it ended with the same color that ball 1 starts with. So no cutting or moving colors around.

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  7 років тому +1

      Yarn isn't wound that way. The next ball isn't from the same industrial spool. As yarn can flex during spinning, it can change lengths slightly. So in time, after winding 100's of balls per shift, you can guarantee that by the end of the day, every one of the winders would be in a different position for where it is on the colour. If they have each ball start at the same spot, could you imagine how much yarn would be tossed into the garbage. It would be really terrible.

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  7 років тому

      Tea Cakes are much shorter in yardage. Cross compare the yardage of Caron Cakes to Caron Tea Cakes. It could be 4+ Tea Cakes. Tea Cakes are Super Bulky 6 verses Medium 4 - 4 ply.
