I just finished making this. It’s my 4th project and I’m so excited! It’s beautiful!!! I scrounged around and found 4 balls of Lilac Frosting and used almost all of it. I also color controlled it as I went. I get so many compliments on it! Thank you! Thank you, for teaching me how to do C2C! It looked so intimidating, but Crystal at Bag-O-Day raves about how you gave her confidence many moons ago, so I knew you would be an excellent teacher, and you didn’t let me down! 😘 Thanks Mikey!
This is a very interesting stitch. I am wanting to crochet a shawl like I had as a child. This really seams to be the closest that I can find. Thank you very much.
Just finished making this, my first ever shawl. I LOVE it. Thank you so much for the fabulous tutorial. I only ended up getting 50 rows out of two cakes but I think maybe a smaller needle next time:)
Thank you for such good information. I wish I could crochet like you but I'm a beginner. I might still try it because it is still an easy pattern. sue xx UK.
I seen on another UA-camrs video and she said to make sure when you buy the Caron cakes or Mandalas that they are the same type of skeins. If you don’t, the yarn won’t line up. Use the same dye lots as well.
For the color change, I tried to find balls in which the outer color of one was the center color of the next and I numbered the labels for the order in which I would need them, so I had a significant amount of each color as I came to it and transitioned into the next ball.
Hi, I love this! Have you tried this cluster C2C technique for making a rectangle scarf? I remember with the other Corner to Corner technique (using three dc instead of clusters) you were able to show how to turn a triangle into a rectangle, so I wonder if the same could be done with this because I like the look of the clusters, thanks!
Love your videos. Love doing this shawl. I've done 3 or now for my church. However I have a problem with the starting point curling. I have tried to crochet looser but doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
And this seems to be a different Corner to Corner than I am used to doing. In the long run, will it make much of a difference if I use a different process for my c2c?
So your tension must be different than me! Sorry it took more yarn that what I had said. I might have been a tighter crocheter and got more yardage out of ball.
Hi love this pattern but any ideas what yarn we can use if we cannot get caron yarn cakes would love them but no where sells them in UK , thanks again for your videos love them x
Hi Michael thanks very much for the beautiful pattern I have started it a few times but it's curling what am I doing wrong I have done it 3 times please let me know. Thanks a lot
I think the problem is with people saying you are going to fast is that you say ' do a cluster,' and then you whizz along... our memories need jogging continuously so maybe do another video where you just keep teaching really slowly each stitch :) Im following along by stopping the video every stitch but its as 'clear as mud' lol
The two balls that were used would have made more sense if ball 2 was ball 1 because it ended with the same color that ball 1 starts with. So no cutting or moving colors around.
Yarn isn't wound that way. The next ball isn't from the same industrial spool. As yarn can flex during spinning, it can change lengths slightly. So in time, after winding 100's of balls per shift, you can guarantee that by the end of the day, every one of the winders would be in a different position for where it is on the colour. If they have each ball start at the same spot, could you imagine how much yarn would be tossed into the garbage. It would be really terrible.
Tea Cakes are much shorter in yardage. Cross compare the yardage of Caron Cakes to Caron Tea Cakes. It could be 4+ Tea Cakes. Tea Cakes are Super Bulky 6 verses Medium 4 - 4 ply.
Your hands cover what you are doing and you go too fast, watch creative grandma, love your work but I can't learn it and I am not a beginner. Not trying to sound negative but I really want to learn
Terry Benson look up FiberSpider. Mikey is great but I often have to pause his videos . And I've been crocheting over twenty years. FiberSpider is great and goes at a nice pace and if you're ever in a jam he will message you back and help. His voice is calming as well.
Terry Benson I agree that you are going much too fast. Your hands also block your instruction. There is no point to do a video if speed is your object. Please slow down and try to keep your hands out of the way. Thank you.
Ridiculously too fast. Unsubscribing right now. BTW, I BEEN CROCHETING FOR OVER 50 YEARS. YOU EVEN TALK TOO FAST, COVER YOUR WORK, SLIP WITH YOUR HOOK... CRAZY! TOTALLY OFF THE HOOK DUDE!

To be honest I have fallen in LOVE with C2C!!!!! TY sir very much for doing this video.

loved the tip about color control on the yarn cakes. seems obvious but hadn't thought about that! Thanks
Great colors
I have learned so much from your videos!! thank you this shawl isn't done yet but OMG it's amazing.
Thank you for such good information. I wish I could crochet like you but I'm a beginner. I might still try it because it is still an easy pattern. sue xx UK.
your work is very beautiful and elegant
Thank you for this video. I have wanted to make a shawl of this pattern. Needed help getting it started. & work across..
I seen on another UA-camrs video and she said to make sure when you buy the Caron cakes or Mandalas that they are the same type of skeins. If you don’t, the yarn won’t line up. Use the same dye lots as well.
Beautiful stitch and LOVE the yarn as well!😊🤗🤗
Thanks, I’ve been using this trick with the cake colors ever sense you showed this! ❤️🤗. Love tips!
How to crochet C2C was a great video.
For the color change, I tried to find balls in which the outer color of one was the center color of the next and I numbered the labels for the order in which I would need them, so I had a significant amount of each color as I came to it and transitioned into the next ball.

This is more like planned pooling. Watching the colors for a better looking scarf
What is the point of the cakes if you have to cut and re-join yarn to doctor it? Wouldn't it be just as easy to use normal balls in different colours?
You can do that and i do. This is just sponsored
Thank you, you are a great teacher.
good tip with the caron cakes
I like that it uses less yarn than the traditional C2C :)
Are there any videos showing this cluster method with a rectangular or square pattern?
heard you say sea to sea, seen the pretty water color yarn, i like sea to sea instead of c2c.
Pretty pattern!
It would be so helpful if you included the yardage of the yarn .
Love your videos. Love doing this shawl. I've done 3 or now for my church. However I have a problem with the starting point curling. I have tried to crochet looser but doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Damped the starting and lay it flat to dry. It's called blocking and will solve that issue after you completed the project.
@@TheCrochetCrowd thank you so much for your reply. I will try that. 😊
Anyone saying Mikey goes too fast - like any youtube video, if you click on the settings, you can slow it down to 75%, 50% or 25%.
THANK YOU MICHAEL
And this seems to be a different Corner to Corner than I am used to doing. In the long run, will it make much of a difference if I use a different process for my c2c?
Awesome tutorial.
Thanks Mikey
That's pretty.
I like it very much thank you
Great tips re color changes. Caron cakes are fun to crochet in
Well i like this so very much i could make another one
can this be done in 3dc and 2 dc clusters and chain 1 spaces ?
I love this pattern but after using two cakes I only ended up with 50 clusters across instead of 54 so it will take one more to finish.
So your tension must be different than me! Sorry it took more yarn that what I had said. I might have been a tighter crocheter and got more yardage out of ball.
LOVE this!!!
Hi love this pattern but any ideas what yarn we can use if we cannot get caron yarn cakes would love them but no where sells them in UK , thanks again for your videos love them x
Jo-anne Whyman can it be bought in Eire ?
I don't know Margo I live quite a way from Eire I'm in derbyshire but you can get them on line if you want to pay postage.
Is this as much of a yarn hog like regular C2C?
Hi Michael thanks very much for the beautiful pattern I have started it a few times but it's curling what am I doing wrong I have done it 3 times please let me know. Thanks a lot
Hi M, thanks for your tutorials. I seem to have the same problem as Jeannette. It curls.
I am relatively new what is 62 * 25 deep mean? Is 62 the width and 25 the length?
I think the problem is with people saying you are going to fast is that you say ' do a cluster,' and then you whizz along... our memories need jogging continuously so maybe do another video where you just keep teaching really slowly each stitch :) Im following along by stopping the video every stitch but its as 'clear as mud' lol
ok does this apply to a c2c baby blanket?
The two balls that were used would have made more sense if ball 2 was ball 1 because it ended with the same color that ball 1 starts with. So no cutting or moving colors around.

How would you decrease to make it a blanket?
How do we finish it?
Hi, Can I order the CaronCakes yarn in europe to? I live in The Netherlands myself.
Mandy Cordewener I think we cannot. I live in Spain, and Michael's don't send to Europe
Estefania, thats tot bad then. It looks wonderful to work with.
Mandy Cordewener Yes, it is. I really love this yarn and I can't get it 😢😢
Estefania. lets protest.😁 we want this yarn to!
Hi love the C2C pattern can this be made into a rectangle shape?
I'm not sure. The pattern was written in a triangle. I'm not sure off the top of my head of converting this to a rectangle.
Anne Tutin I was wondering the same thing
Anne Tutin Once you get the with that you want, stop increasing on one side and it will start making a rectangle
Anne Tutin
Thanks for all advice
Hoe brei ik een omslag doek?
yasss i love it mikey :)
Lov this! Half way through min, but the edges are not a straight line :/

mary Carisiti worsted
If you use tea cakes is it still 2 cakes
Tea Cakes are much shorter in yardage. Cross compare the yardage of Caron Cakes to Caron Tea Cakes. It could be 4+ Tea Cakes. Tea Cakes are Super Bulky 6 verses Medium 4 - 4 ply.

I'm sorry Adele.
No problem. Finally got the hang of it after replaying it a few times. 😁 Thanks.
“Shaw” ???? 🤣
I'm sorry, it's the way I annociate Shawls. I've been told that a number of times. :D

I just simply rewind the video, its really not that hard. Crochet Crowd have so many great videos for free, try being a little patient.
