Wugtrio =Convergent evolution where an entirely separate species can evolve to resemble other species because of the areas requiring an similar type of evolution to survive in those areas
Convergent evolution is where two (or more) species fill the same ecological niche, therefore developing the same traits entirely independently. The thing about convergent Pokemon and regional Pokemon (or animal) is that they both did the same thing to achieve their form. Darwinian evolution to suit its environment. I think that's fun.

It's never stated what material Kantonian Voltorbs and Electrodes are made from; it can be determined that it's not metal since they do not have the STEEL type the way Magnemite and Magneton do. I think Voltorb and Electrode instead are covered in plastic, which can be created by processing certain plants. And the Hisuian Voltorb and Electrode just so happen to be GRASS type. Or possibly the accumulation of microplastics created by humans caused the plant based material in the pokemon to be substituted out in favor for being able to survive in a more industrial age.

I think that applies to some Pokemon such as Voltorb, but in the case of Growlithe/Arcanine, they are so beloved by trainers and people in general in the world that I could never see it actually going extinct. Don't think it invalidates anything you said but I like the theory that goes around that the Galarian birds ISN'T the kanto birds they just received their names cuz they're similar. Take Galarian Moltres dex entry for example: "*The sinister aura that blazes like molten fire around this Pokémon is what inspired the name Moltres.*"

Blood moon Ursaluna is honestly weird. It's less of a variant and more of a Ursaluna that survived making it overseas to Kitakami. Think of it as a damaged and cornered animal more than anything. That's how I enterpret it at least

My only main criticism is that it’d be really nice for casual viewers like me for visuals of the pokemon being discussed to remain on screen while you talk about them! It can be small and in the corner, just something so we can still look at it. Otherwise a fun video to listen to ☺️

After the way they did sv. They could give us different dlc to bring us every pikemon in at least the main gen games. They could start the game with new pokemon mixed with older ones. Then bring different dlc to bring the rest of the pokemon. That way we can get them.

I actually did somehow miss the best of the three starters BUT they got their own full video on this channel explaining how they made Spiritomb and changed to the modern age form!
White Stripe Basculin is currently considered the same species as red and blue stripe despite their differed appearance and behavior, but good question!
is it just me or you purposefully put white dot next to your head to make my screen a bit dirty? tried to clean it up by slides it up/down left/right, but it looks like that white dots came from the video itself
Normally I don't respond this fast, but I was already looking through the comments, and while I somehow missed Typhlosion, they got their own entire video!
I love your biological analysis I always thought it was the most interesting part of pokemon, however. I also wanna know your reasoning behind why sneasler can't climb ice as well as Alolan Sandslash despite having similar claws, other than just video game quest, great video!
Thank you! I have a deep love for science and nature as that's originally what I was going to college for, so it felt right to deep dive and apply it to Pokemon, especially since these things are considered in their creation! As for the reasoning...I think the areas that Sneasler/Weavile inhabit are more snowy, while Alolan Sandslash has more ice to break through considering that I believe it will also go underground. So it probably just made their claws tougher through time through needs. It's insane to think how packed ice can be denser than some rocks! Hope to see ya in future videos or even stop by in streams and thank you again for watching!
I think one thing that could have made this video even better is having more pictures of the Pokémon or maybe clips of the Pokémon you were talking about from the anime playing while you were talking maybe some graphs or something like that instead of a long video of you Talking, no shade, it can give the viewers something more to look at
No shade taken! Honestly graphs wouldn't fit this at all but I get where you are going. In addition, many of these pokemon have VERY short parts in the anime or games and I can't use other people art. Ultimately I saw it as more boring to have static images for too long BUT my upcoming release on "Why Chairman Rose was DESTINED to FAIL" has more clips to it! I also plan to try and work SOMETHING proper for the next massive Pokemon Research video! Thank you for your input and viewership!
I love pokemon, and my favorite is Growlithe and Arcanine. I want to throw Hisuian Arcanine into the sea and let it sink to the bottom, forever. I can't take the design compared to the original. Hisuian growlithe is okay, though.👍

Especially considering how much time and effort (and passion) you clearly put into these videos, I would encourage you to take slightly more time with your research and aiming for a bit more specificity and accuracy when talking about real world biology or phylogenetics.

I'm not sure if you looked over your script, but corsula is actually from jhoto, not alola
Meowth changing colors like my chaos in sonic 😂
On Alolan Exeggutor, they should have used a form of dragon fruit. So the typing made better sense.
Also maybe J-Sneasel is dark because psychic is 4x effective against poison/fighting but dark is immune
Lockstin & Gnoggin has video "The ACTUAL Origins of the 4 New Hisuian Pokémon!" where he theories hisuian pokemon went extended because of mankind's intervention.
I had noticed that but wanted to go over them all. This was a nice test video before I started doing more deep dives. I think the only downside to making this content is I restrict myself from watching anyone else make it
@@KrillikVA it might be good to come to your own conclusions first then compare and contrast your ideas with others
@AnnaSmith-nj2lh now THAT is speaking like a real scientist in learning! But yes, that is a very good point and would be good for me to do
Did i miss it? Did he cover bloodmoon Ursaluna or is that different?
Blood moon Ursaluna is honestly weird. It's less of a variant and more of a Ursaluna that survived making it overseas to Kitakami.
Think of it as a damaged and cornered animal more than anything. That's how I enterpret it at least
Enjoyed the video, but would’ve like more images/clips of the pokemon
I learned from this and in the longer video of the food chain I made sure to include way more
What about hisuian typhlosion and basculin.
Basculin only had Basculegion as it's own other variant. White stripe is not an official separate form actually!
As for H.Typhlosion, it got it's own entire video!
@@KrillikVA or about how stantler stoped learning how to use psyshield bash which helps it evolve into weirder. And the personality shift white stripe basculin has from it's modern relatives. From being timid to being so aggressive the red and blue striped basculin will at time kill each other. I think there was a Pokedex message that talked about that.
Can we talk about that collar being popped
love the vids man, but i got some tips
if u use script (cuz ur eyes keep lookin left and right) put ur script below the camera, but if its a habit u can just put clips when your eyes changing direction.
keep up the good work man
My only main criticism is that it’d be really nice for casual viewers like me for visuals of the pokemon being discussed to remain on screen while you talk about them! It can be small and in the corner, just something so we can still look at it. Otherwise a fun video to listen to ☺️
You're gonna just live future videos, bc I do exactly that
Small pokemon in the corner when relevant and everything
Paldean tauros at least the aqua breed is based on a water buffalo
37:10 Should have gotten into more detail of Alolan Exeggutor being the original how Kanto one is a variant. Also, i heard in the great web that Alolan Exeggutor can be based on Dracaena palm trees. Regardless, this was a great video.
After the way they did sv. They could give us different dlc to bring us every pikemon in at least the main gen games. They could start the game with new pokemon mixed with older ones. Then bring different dlc to bring the rest of the pokemon. That way we can get them.
Samurot is based noba noga
What about coral Geodude ????
Surprised you didn’t mention that alolan exeggutor is the original
At the time I wasn't entirely sure that was the case. I never really saw anything that said that definitively, but it could be inferenced that it was the case!
Did we forget hisuian typhlosion or am I missing when he said 😅?
I actually did somehow miss the best of the three starters BUT they got their own full video on this channel explaining how they made Spiritomb and changed to the modern age form!
you missed hisuian typhlosian
I really love galarian darmanintan it’s my favourite Pokémon
Wait.. Where’s White Striped Basculin?
White Stripe Basculin is currently considered the same species as red and blue stripe despite their differed appearance and behavior, but good question!
@@KrillikVA oh that makes sense of why it’s not there. Thanks for the explanation
is it just me or you purposefully put white dot next to your head to make my screen a bit dirty?
tried to clean it up by slides it up/down left/right, but it looks like that white dots came from the video itself
Typhlosion?
Normally I don't respond this fast, but I was already looking through the comments, and while I somehow missed Typhlosion, they got their own entire video!
Samurott is not a fighting water it’s a pure water type
100% correct, little mistake that I made but it overall still works with losing the dark typing
Interesting I love it and I absolutely will I love biology and pokemon as well can't wait to see the rest of your stuff!

Galar ponyta is psychic
Hey man, I'm really enjoying your videos. I will say that when you delve into real world comparisons your accuracy and understanding is sometimes a little bit off. Especially considering how much time and effort (and passion) you clearly put into these videos, I would encourage you to take slightly more time with your research and aiming for a bit more specificity and accuracy when talking about real world biology or phylogenetics.
Don't you worry, since this video I'm taking more and more time and I think the ancient history of pokemon will be pretty spot on
I've been working towards that improvement and thank you for watching!
@@KrillikVA glad to hear it and looking forward to them.
