I love using waterfall. One year, the teachers and I came up with a plan to make the room more zen and quieter. We bought a waterfall and also said waterfall when it was too loud in the class. It was heaven.
You are such a blessing to us - thank you for sharing your wisdom!! I'd love a mini lesson on managing noise volume during work time. I love giving my students the freedom to walk around, work around the room, work with others, etc., but the volume level tends to spike after a few minutes. Any suggestions? Hugs!!
You're amazing. I'm going back into the classroom after 17 years of homeschooling my own kids. I'll be teaching kinder. These are great lessons. Thank you!
I love the flat tire call back! I’ve never heard of that. ❤ I may be switching from 3rd to 1sr in the next month so I need all the tips because I haven’t taught first grade in YEARS!
Hi Miss May...i know you might feel like it's a little weird that you are doing these videos with no kids in front of you... but thank you soooo much! Watching you actually doing it helps me know what you mean and how i can tweek things to fit my personality.
Flat tire sounds better than saying ,"Waterfalls." I wonder if you could bring in a portable bike pump to show how quiet that you want them to be. Thank you for your video presentation. Take care.
Do you still have the HP printer you posted about a couple of years ago? I didn't realize there were so many models to choose from. Also, if you have a printer and laminator in your classroom, do other teachers take or use your personal items? Do you believe the neutral colors are more calming than bright colors? I am moving from MS to Primary. Do you have a calm corner?
Yes, she's still kickin! I think she's on her last leg though. I refuse to purchase a new one until she's done! I keep a laminator I purchased in my classroom and I have one at home. I never have a problem with sharing with my teacher peeps. I used bright colors for at least 18 years. I loved it, but I love the neutral more and will finish my career with the neutrals. It's calming, but still happy. To be honest, I've used a calming corners in the past and some years no. Many blessings to you this upcoming school year. I'd love to know later in the year if you prefer MS or primary. ((HUGS))
