I grew up on Will Hay films during the 90’s thanks to my dad who like Tom said grew up watching them in the late 60’s & 70’s & when channel 4 launched they use to show them during the 80’s & my dad managed to tape them on VHS
    My dad loved “ Oh my Porter “ & “ Ghost of St Micheals “ my favourites were “ Good morning boys “ , “ Ask a Policeman “ , “ Convict 99” , “ where’s that fire “ & of course “ Oh mr Porter” as well
I definitely agree about “ My Learned friend “ & if Will Hay lived a little longer he could’ve easily been involved in more Ealing comedies. He was a genius & ahead of his time! Great discussion guys 👍

Do you think you have to be of a certain age to have heard of Will Hay? I don't know all his films. Those I have watched are very enjoyable especially "O Mr Porter". His fellow actors in his films helped cement them in my memory.

It seems as though his films find a new audience. Especially Oh! Mr Porter which finds new people in the train enthusiast world! Being able to watch his stuff on UA-cam definitely helps!

as good as Will Hay films are if the film is black and white it turns people off may be if his best film was colourised that might just be enough to get people to watch the rest. the only film of Wills I have not seen is "know your apples"

I’m not a fan of colourising black and white films. I find that the same people who prefer films colourised probably don’t appreciate older films in general.
