Keep in mind he was ready to have Tifa and Barret publicly executed after the meteor was summoned. Rufus really doesn't start to get a real redemption arc until Advent Children. Before then? His standard MO before the original FF7 is manipulating things behind the scenes. Due to the Japan only nature of the mobile game Before Crisis, lots of folks miss the plot point that there was a traitor within Shinra. Turns out it was Rufus as his role in that game was secretly funding the original version of Avalanche and feeding them insider info. In fact, Rufus was so well hidden that not even Avalance knew he was the one funding them. All they knew was that a Shinra executive was funneling resources and info to them. At the surface level, one would think his intentions are pure, but Rufus didn't care about the planet at the time. His only real goal was overthrowing his old man and taking power for himself. When he's eventually discovered, President Shinra realizes that if word gets out that Rufus was the traitor, it could throw tons of things into chaos. He instead has him placed under house arrest and imprisoned by the Turks with the cover story to explain his absence being that Rufus had just become the vice president and that he was on a business trip overseas. Rufus eventually manages to use that cover story to his advantage when Sephiroth kills his father and Palmer reaches out to Junon asking for reinforcements and the whereabouts of the "vice president." Without doing a deep dive on the details, it was essentially Rufus that kept the Turks operational rather than disbanded, and as they were the ones tasked with watching over Rufus, the Turks weren't exactly going to inform anyone that Rufus was the VP in name only. And honestly? With some of the hints that Remake/Rebirth have dropped regarding Wutai and the mentions of an unseen viceroy that was part of Wutai's interim government, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Rufus somehow pulling the strings again as he is very much unconcerned with the warning that firing the cannon at Junon could be seen as an act of aggression by Wutai.

Oh thx
Temari From Naruto!!!!!
I like these guys, they probably also had enough of Shinra's bullshits already, they stay for the civilians, not the company. Hopefully to see them turn around in the next game.
The commander has a sassy walk. Loving it!
Can someone update the wiki saying that cloud was technically captain of the 7th regiment? I feel like he deserves that in one of his titles lol
Wasn't expecting Mitsuru to turn tall, blonde, and militarized.
(Same voice actor)
Also Edelgard from Three Houses.
Respect man
I love Seventh Infantry so much
For a sec there I thought they were gonna have you raid fort condor
The commander's voice sounds familar... isn't that Lenneth (or Hrist) from Valkyrie Profile?
Sounds like Edelgard from fe3h
She plays Mitsuru Kirijo in Persona 3 Reload.
@@SpyroulGaming That's actually Allegra Clark playing Mitsuru in P3R. Tara voices her in the OG P3, however.
@@ThatBoySonder damn you’re right! They sound so similar!
I swear the commander is either Gun or gun and Elena's mother. I know their father was part of the military academy but I don't remember if their mother was part of the military as well. She looks way to much like an older Elena.
* potential spoiler *
Why was this an Aerith mission? Tifa should have been part of it as well.
Cause there were too many Tifa centric side missions already. And frankly, I doubt Tifa would want to revisit posing as Shinra troopers.
commander temari 🥰
Commander is mommy, i want to see more of her in the third game
I wonder how different this mission is if you let the squad die during the Junon escape
Telluric Scriptures Volume VII
I see what you did there, game!
I hope we all can see this 3 guy next FF7
Bro thats fucking avdols voice actor 5:54
You can bet when the PC port hits, modders will be working on commander mommy as much as Tifa or Aerith.
praise the modders
Hello there Edelgard lol
wow that commander is beautiful, I like the way she moves when she walks 02:07
So cute Kitten.
Commander sounds like Mitsuru Kirijo from Persona 3
I start to think the commander is related to Elena 🤔
Is this game patch adding or is it part of the original game and if not how when and how do you unlock the side mission
I hope this is Elena Older sister. I know she was a Turk but they could make it to where she changed positions to be a military leader like their father one was.
heideggar: okay f me i guess
The commander is cute and has a cute walk. However it is not practical as a soldier.
Tara Platt always manages to pull off these strong female characters perfectly 🤣
How do you get this mission?
Hope they gonna show up again in part 3
dude the commander is H.O.T
I want more scene of commander
What is the side quest name? I probably missed it while playing through
its in junon. I believe its the one that unlocks last
Beneath Still Waters. Available after Chapter 12. You have to do the Tide of War and Worry quest first, though.
How can a commander not get intel that Cloud never got these promotions?
Dude, Edelgard is doing well in FF7
Hello Zero!
she knew it was cloud
THE BOYS!!!
All I hear is Mitsuru
Not gonna lie, the commander is a snack
Her VA sounds familiar
edit: it's yuri from spiderman ps4
maan, this captain is clever :D
Good Soldiers follow orders. Great Soldiers stabs by their brothers
Tifa thinking too many girls joining this crowd😑
