I think it requires as much skill as any other performance art. Whether you're executing a difficult sleight, or a self-working gimmick, you still want to execute it perfectly. I can't remember the exact quote, but i remember reading something along the lines of "magic is the only art where you dedicate hours to make sure people don't see what you're doing"

Some good advice as always. But no matter good you are the performance is key. 😊😊

Hi Michael, excellent video covering an important area of magic: practice, practice, practice. Just as so many famous actors beco.e an overnight success after 20 years of hard work, so too excellent magi make it look effortless after years and years of diligent effort. I think of all the hours in front of a mirror I have spent and continue to spend to perfect my art and routines and yet, it's never enough---- we can always improve our skills. Just as I have done my best (and continue to do so) to perfect my magic, so too has my magic done its best to perfect me. Your friend, David

In order to drive home the value of repetition and practice think about whatever it is one does in their day job. Think about how much is done without any thought. When you can perform a magic effect with complete ease and focus on your audience that’s where the real magic happens.
