awesome video !!!! just great! Now im on a search for the smallest size powerbank that will do the job. Any recommendations for somethign as portable as possible ?
Thanks Martin. Hmmm, that is a tricky one; sorry it's a long answer. Small sized power banks that have a high mAh number are nearly always BS. Unfortunately power banks that will work 'well' are large. One of the key things to remember from the video is it's best to have a power bank rated 12V @ 3A - In the video I use the Romoss power bank (the red ones) which are only 12V 2 1.5A, can those work for the pocket 4K and possibly the 6K? Have I personally tested my own tiny 10,000mAh power banks? Yes. Do they work? Yes... but there is a BUT - not really worth it IMO for like an hour+ of recording. USB-C power banks are not an efficient way to power these cameras - here's a non-scientific calculation - my 10,000mAh NP-F batteries run for 4 and a half or so hours and are compact so a 30000mAh power bank like used in the video should run for 13 and a half hours but that is not the case; we only get about half that with power banks at 7+ hrs as you saw. Hi! Thanks for the info... i have a question tho for my BMPCC4K... So, in my country, those type C to BMPCC cable was really expensive... How about i using LP-E6 dummy battery with type C to type C cable (this type-C PD cable way more cheaper) and plugged in directly to power bank... can it work too? is it safe??
There are USB-C PD to dummy batteries but remember it should not be more than 8V. I have a Micro Studio G2 and sometimes use a NP-F USB-C dummy. I will say that if you can get the 'normal' 12V Weipu cable shown in the video it will be better than a dummy... you can check Aliexpress for cheaper cables.
Also there is a big difference between powering our cameras with Weipu 12V and dummy batteries - I also made a very informative video about that - ua-cam.com/video/NJMpNlsiBRM/v-deo.htmlsi=3hbRk2QoKL_eiDBC
