1969 Porsche 911 T: Maximum Pleasure, Minimalist Package
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 вер 2017
- The 911 T was the most stripped-down model in the range, and arguably the most pleasurable experience because of it. No excessive luxuries or functionality to take away from a pure driving experience.

The videography here is better than most feature films! Unreal
This was probably the best yet, just breathtaking.
They all are. That's what I love about this channel.
Same here! This one was exceptional!
I don't know they could top their earlier work. Unreal.
So true, it really brings out character of these cars. It's automotive Porn and I'm addicted....just like regular porn!
*Who else is down for Petrolicious filming this guys 6 weeks adventure?*
im down
Ì volunteer as camera guy during his adventure!
Hell yeah
I think that would be one of those things where he would just want to experience it rather than knowing a camera was filming him constantly.
Better question would be, who isn't?
That breakaway rolling bridge shot at 2:03 was beautiful.
And that shot around 3.50 was very cool too. This entire video is shot like a car chase movie, one of my favourites from petrolicious
@@jackchatham3947 yeah, all car chases in movies should be shot like this!
Watch 4:10 to 4:30 shots
I like how he says the 2.0T goes just as fast as he needs to go. It's refreshing to see another early 911 owner who doesn't feel the need to update every 2 liter car to a bigger motor. In many respects driving these early 911s has more in common with driving a modern Miata or Toyota 86 than driving a contemporary 911 supercar. Somebody once pointed out that it's a lot more fun going fast in slow car than driving slow in a fast car.
I have and enjoy a '16 Miata. It is true that it will go as fast as I need it to go. And the top goes down in seconds.
"Somebody once pointed out that it's a lot more fun going fast in slow car than driving slow in a fast car."
That would be Bob Lutz, and I agree with him completely.
I owned an STi and a 350Z when I was younger. I have more fun driving my old BMWs now, than I did with those cars. Unless you are tracking them every weekend, there's really no point in having all that horsepower. Enjoying your daily drive by maxing out your car's potential, and feeling everything your car does is the way to go.
Definitely agree with this. I have a full bolt on Mk5 GTI with a Golf R turbo swap and suspension goodies. While it's fun as hell to drive, my 2015 Mazda 3 HB (2.0 6MT) is a very fun car as well. Great turn in and it makes you work for it since it's just 155hp vs my GTI making over 320chp. It's also just over 2800lbs.
I really love my Turbo S. There's multiple ways to have fun, and mulltiple definitions of it.
That shot at 4:35... holy shit.... I swear, you guys have the best fucking crew ever.
I would give your observation two thumbs up if I could.
They’re artists 😍
I don't get it; do I have to study videography to appreciate?
willd0g Nah, you just have have a certain taste and appreciation for good cinematography
The shot at 2:20!!!
Seeing him manhandle his car makes me more happy than anything. These cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed. What's the point of all these guys with garage queen classic cars? This guy has the right idea; keep the car clean and in good condition, but don't be afraid to use it for what it's designed to do.
Agree completely
the car is half a century old and still looks so modern in a way
Good design is timeless.
No, it looks better.
@@Alpostpone LOL timeless??? It's so poorly designed it actually looks WORSE than it did when it left the f*cking factory!!!! XD I didn't think that level of FAILURE was possible!!!!
@@michaelmeliambro5117 The taste is just like the asshole, its split i two
@@michaelmeliambro5117 Yeah, sure, you're right. That's why this car still exists until these days...
Ugh I can't get enough of this cinematography oh my lord
Would look 100X better minus the Porsche......
Need new rims. It will give it a few additional style points!
This dude is living my dream life....awesome cars, nice house in So Cal, epic journeys with a classic 911.
And his House is also very nice...
www.hunker.com/13718891/natural-materials-warm-the-industrial-feel-of-this-minimalist-home
uncommonplaces me too!🤩
So cal is so overrated. Did you see how disgusting the city looked?
Love the pompous smug comment about not being able to afford the other cars. Yet, he lives in Crappy California in a multi million dollar house and has 2 classic Porsches in a custom garage just for his classic cars. And then he's shipping his car to do a rally from Peking to Paris. SMUG CALIFORNIA LIBERAL ATTITUDE! btw, I watched the video because I love old Porsches, not becuase I care about this guy's life. I just wished more "average Joes" could afford them instead of these rich DB's who own mutiple expensive cars and act like they are the average car guy.
@@vuk8985 well said.
He was really hauling ass on those LA roads and the way you guys captured it was simply electric!
I agree; he was really pushing that thing on the street. Wheel lifting......Man, what a blast!
Hauling ass... Jae Baek, that's a perfect way to put it.
Another beautiful representation of the experience of driving and owning a magnificent machine. Good job petrolicious.
Prthik Karthikeyan are you Hindu?
Al Denino Why do you ask?
@@prthikkarthikeyan3013 He must of forgot.
"it's not an S or an E, because I couldn't afford those"
He says as he pulls into his mansion with 2 Porsche 911s
AND a bike
I thought the same thing. LOL
So?
That’s why he can’t afford it- he’s got other things that take his money
its not buying a used one its the repairs and upkeep that will make you broke
Part "Baby Driver" part Superhero flick, but damn Petrolicious knows how to film a 911.
I you liked Baby driver, watch "Drive". Superb movie.
It's been a long time since I've had goose bumps after watching a video. This is the dream
THAT guy knows what a 911 is for. Bravo.
Except he DOESN'T. 911's are for driving off a CLIFF when you've given up on life.....end of story.
@@michaelmeliambro5117 if you hate Porsches so much why are you watching a video about one? I see you commenting on other people's comments, what's the point?
@@aslipperysnake Bcuz unfortunately, in this world, there are some incorrigible f*ckwits like you who are clearly incapable of understanding the error of your ways.
holy moly that cinematography. how can a car be so beautiful? and i love those basic but wide wheels on it. what a pure dream
More like a driving NIGHTMARE.......
Excellent job as always and you can't go wrong with a pre 70s Porsche. Gorgeous

@@maxjelley4055 which is pre 70s
I had a 1970 T, umm, oh crap, that was 37 years ago! They were a substantially different car than the 69. Both mechanical bits and the body were upgraded in many places. At a glance however, they both were the same very light, adequately powered fun cars. For me it was a project that needed to be turbo charged. There were no turbo kits in those days. I had to make the intake and exhaust manifolds, and the muffler all from scratch. Taking care to match the body exhaust cutout. A vac/boost gauge went inside the one blank instrument pod. Clocks must have been optional. I used a new tech (for the time) small industrial turbo that had nearly no lag. The various carb setups I tried were finicky so I took it apart and milled a bit off the pistons and notched the intake ports to fit a 3 liter FI on the 2.2 liter engine. That setup worked perfect on pump gas. It was lowered subtly and got an air dam I had a bunch of fun with it running away from the camarbirdtangs at speed. Really a fun car to drive! Responsive as heck. And bunch of unique sounds inside and out. Like hearing through the body the dry sump system work after corners not to mention that 6!
Fun times.
After a few years it had run it's course and I was feeling like it was a liability that I couldn't properly care for so I found a buyer. He was more show than go and didn't want to pay for the turbo so I had new engine tin handy for this eventuality. See I had built the mods without altering anything unreplaceable. Bolt the carbs and stuff on with new tin and shazam! Back to stock. The lowered compression and port notches had no appreciable affect as the Ts had milder cams anyway.
This video, very well executed BTW, sure stirred up a bunch of thoughts I haven't had in years. Kinda bittersweet today. Well I guess it was better to have done these sort of things than not.
Sorry to bend you ear, hope you enjoyed the story.
Great story! I would love to see a video of yours making similar stuff to what you described! You seem to love these things!
Wow! Good on you! Thanks for sharing your story!
Yeah, good idea! I’ll have to get that going. Sadly I keep feeling like I’m running out of time to accomplish all the things I have in mind. But thanks. I’ll keep trying. :)
Watched yet again on my new 4K TV rig....... Beautiful in every way.
Those twin pipes and steelies really stand out, I love this car.
Steelies >>>>>> Fuchs
*buys 2 porsches*
"the minimalist"
hahahahaha!
Namur Al-junedi maybe the other Porsche is for the 2019 rally.
A 8 seaters fllat 12
Namur Al-junedi hahaha
lol
This is still my favourite Petrolicious video. I love the car, I love the cinematography, I love the soundtrack and the owner looks as such a cool guy. He's basically living my dream, I was into 911s since I was a small kid and saw that iconic sillhouete in a couple of movies. Hopefully his words "taking it easy, taking the time" will become real eventually :). Beautiful movie Petrolicious, this is pure art.
I love that this guy drives this car hard. They're vehicles after all and designed to do that and not just sit in a show room. This bloke gets it. Also, that shot where they split up as he went over the bridge was EPIC. Loved it.
a narrow body 911 is prettier than a wide body
False
True, too bad porsche will never make another one though.
I'll have either thank you
This is the purest form. But the SC flares and wide body were a way to widen the rear track to allow the car to safely (relatively speaking) put more power down.
Agreed. Far more charming . It sort of sits there like a frog while smiling at you. Dont like any of the models that came after the mid nineties when they moved from air cooled to water cooled. Once it was no longer the trusted old hard wearing air cooled engine it lost its charm and distinctive sound . Porsches now dont sound like porsches anymore and they are way to fat and flash.
Every single video you guys do could be 10x longer, and I'd watch every minute on the edge of my seat. Fantastic car & great to see an owner using it, and not just hoarding it for resale.
Seems like a cool dude who drives/treats a Porsche properly. Good luck in 2019!
I saved this video in my playlist called "Motivation"
This is one of the best car videos I've seen.
I always come back to it every year or two. Too bad they don’t make these anymore
Who ever is in charge of your shots and scenes is a genius!
Another killer episode. Would Love for you to do a BTS video showing what it takes to put one of these together.
Yes please!!
Ditto. Would love to see that
Just watched again...... magic every time.
This is awesome, absolutely wonderful. No fancy alloys, nothing, electronic sensors etc...,just a driver and his beautiful german car with its sound.
You went from that F40 video, which was disappointing to say the least, to this, which was absolutely one of the best films I've seen. The cinematography was EPIC. Those chase scenes were incredible. The whole thing gave me goosebumps, and I feel like I know a little bit what it's like to actually drive this car.
Like, why would you even dislike this video?? I just don't get it, who in their right mind would go and intentionally dislike this pure gold video???
...ain't no accountin' for some people's taste. Some folks just don't like Porsches.
Utter perfection in a 911, and an owner that gets what it's all about. Bravo Petrolicious, you've done it again 👏👏
I don't know if there was some sort of change in staff at petrolicious or if whoever is in charge of setting up the rolling shots has found their groove but this is by far the most satisfying thing I've seen on a screen in I don't know how long. Petrolicious, you took it to a whole new level with this one. It's so wonderful to see content that pulls back the curtains on that intangible special something that gives a true drivers car it's soul and makes it more than mere transportation.
You have my enthusiastic applause! 👍
Report this channel for filming a porn.
no
I feel such relief. I thought I was the only one.
porn is life.
😄😄Just Say No!
This channel is pure art. It deserves much more attention and subscribers.
LET PETROLICIOUS BURN IN HELL!!!!!!
At 2:24 as the chase car veers left while we watch the 911 T cruise away with its motor tone... Man, that is just sweet!!
This is some of the finest southern California driving footage I have seen in a long time. Thank you so much for the catharsis Petrolicious.
Holy hell, I can stop watching this video. The cinematography and editing is mind blowing!
These videos evoke so much emotion and passion. True petrol heads, true car guys. So so cool.
I had to screen shot to use as my background, this car and the cinematography are just next level
This is by far my favorite pretolicious video in terms of cinematography. Loved it.
What a wonderful car with great cinematography and editing.
The tracking shots are bloody beautiful!
At 4:13 - "You can beat it up a bit" dubbed over that screeching, wheel lifting right turn, then roaring away to "and you can haul ass in it" is pretty much the coolest few seconds of video that could ever exist !!! That old 911 must surely be happy to get thrashed around.
The best Petrolicious Porsche content film.... probably.
Absolutely amazing video ! VIdeo editing on this video is maybe one of the best you made guys ! Some of rushes are maybe better than movies ! Incredible !
Is it possible to have the name of who actualy are filming and editing these videos ?
Once again .. Perfect video ! ANd this Porsche is so beautiful ..
I loved this video. In my humble opinion the greatest car ever made is a Porsche by Singer. Unfortunately my bank account will never support such a passion. There has to be another way. Could a 911T be it? Thank you for opening this door...
That music as he turns on the radio after getting in his Porsche!
Man with Porsche's philosofy.
two poeple from australia liked this video
Do you mean disliked?
No, he means liked. You know.. down there everything is upside down.
6 Australians now
Some are from New Zealand
Add another Aussie. This vid is up there with their greatest.
Does everyone in LA drive a classic Porsche? Is there some kind of code I am not aware of? Not complaining though, gorgeous cars.
That dude is horsin' that thing 'round the streets! What a beautiful car... Best one in ages P.
Although we've seen early 911's before on this channel and we've even seen these roads before (stops in front of Magnus Walker's place) Porsche videos on petrolicious never get old. Another week of perfection!
How do you guys keep the cars you film in focus so well during long shots at different distances?
aperture
Probably wireless follow focus with a 1AC pulling focus across the shot
Wow, fantastic video! See! You don't need 900 up to enjoy the ride! The classics are so engaging and he is right... It is a turn and go car. Awesome!
Absolute pure . Thank you mr. K G ....Petrolicious, again , hats off for the share!!!
the color grading is so spot on
At least when Italian cars break down the are beautiful to look at.
What about the second 911 though?
next week I hope
As an the original owner of a '72S with over 300k miles of "spirited" driving, this video comes as close to describing the pleasure the early 911's are to drive. There aren't that many cars that can be driven to the track, raced flat out at 7,300 RPM, and driven back home. The air cooled engine sound alone is so unique and coupled with free flowing exhaust, well,....
We now need to know about the stablemate sepia 911!
That’s his parts car pfft
Petrolicious videos are simply gorgeous. Amazing camera work and editing!
These are the Petrolicious videos we all know and love. Killer cinematography on this one.
I also own a 2009 Iphone !
I don't
who is that song by and what is it called
The Electric Banana (The Pretty Things) - I See You (1968)
I See You by The Pretty Things
A genuinely moving price of film, thank you petrolicious so much
this is, hands down, the most beautifully shot video on UA-cam.
This video would be perfect without the music. I would love to hear the engine only.
6 seconds of awesome from 3.50
Honestly some of the best cinematography I've seen out of this channel. Good Job guys
Another beautiful quality film and story by Petrolicious. Thank you.
Can a truck also be a dream car?
Pxintman which is on your mind ?
I hope so
The Nrajgn Toyota tacoma. I know it's not the most top notch thing on the planet, but man the older models look amazing.
Pxintman best gasoline powered light truck in the world hands down
Pxintman definitely, my dream car is a Datsun sunny truck.
Great car! But why turn on the radio???
Because when you drive it a lot, it gets pretty much the usual sound. Don't want to say boring, but music isn't actually a sin in a good car.
He farted
Daniel Z The engine sound should be his radio. The engine sound is music to my ears.
I'm sure they had him do that for a shot to introduce the music for the video.
Each of these videos continues to amaze; so glad I found this channel!
Absolutely Stunning work! I loved every second. This is by far one of the best from the Petrolicious Films!
music is a bit too much imho, but the filming is spot on
Was there music?
It's a shame that he put the radio on with that beautiful sounding flat 6 behind him.
It looks like an old Blaupunkt, probably originally fitted to the car, so no shame there.
White Death-Finland I meant that he played the tape , listening to it instead of the engine.
Flat 6 air cooled is the only sound you need
It's not a boxer engine...
Edward Manson its just now that i googled it and found out lol thanks for pointing it out i didnt even know they were different
To this day, still my all time favourite video on UA-cam
Amazing editing, amazing soundtrack and absolutely amazing car! I love 911 so much!
Absolutely stellar cinematography. Straight to the Favourites.
Petrolicious you've really outdone yourselves with this short film. A+++++ on the videography, car and owner. Excellent work!
Some absolutely stunning shots!
Sensational camera work and editing! Wow!!
My favorite Petrolicious feature, chills everywhere, wow !
These are my favorite videos to watch on UA-cam👍
I come back often to watch this. Amazing!
Thanks for sharing your passion with us . Great video , excellent editing .
Your videos are uniquely good for evoking the feeling of freedom driving on the open road - i just love it!
There is nothing ridiculous about minimalist-fun.enjoyment shouldn't be that expensive/heavy/complex.this video make my day.thanks 🌞
Best videography I've seen from petrolicious. So cool
Great episode, and award wining caliber Photography.
Some stunning shots of a true classic!
This man has class
I watched tons of Porsche Vids. This is my ultimate one! Sound, power, color is the end of the road. Thx frpm good ole germany
The simple lines of this car is unexplainably very appealing
and just like that, my desire for a classic/ retro 911 has increased once again
Likewise pal.....
This is absolutely incredible
I’ve known this film shot by shot for a year, and I still watch it
I'm just blown away with the quality of this video. Bravo to the director and crew. The sit coming into the bridge is brilliant. Take this whole crew to Mongolia!
