Thanks for the video, Brad. I love adaptive cruise control, especially in stop and go traffic. When we first started towing and I would do cruise control, my trailer would start slightly fishtailing. At the Wyoming international rally last year we got talking with a lady who used to work at Ford and asked her about it and why that would do that. She said because the truck was making micro adjustments that you couldn’t perceive but the trailer would and that’s what caused it. It only would happen when I was doing over 70 mph.
I had a similar conversation with a Ford executive a few days ago confirming the same thing about the lane centering. We love the tech in this tuck and it makes driving a much better experience.
Excellent video. I love technology as well. It’s always an aid, not a replacement. Being a pilot, I’m quite accustomed to technology but again, it’s an aid and sometimes lifesaving especially in airplanes. So, yes, the adaptive cruise, lane keeping and speed monitoring are terrific along with so much more. Thanks for the Ford tow calculator. Looks like I’m going to need a bigger truck soon! Thanks, Brad!
Thank you very much! I experienced those aviation aids as a helicopter crewchief in the Marine Corps. Many nights flying on night vision in the middle of the ocean. Couldn't have found land or the ship without the tech. Also, kept us safe from those bad guys on the ground trying to shoot us down!
Thanks for the tech update, Brad. You almost need a separate video on these features and their use while towing. I believe you mentioned the issues you've had with Lane Centering when pulling the trailer and not being able to use that feature. I have experience with that on my 2021 F-150 Platinum when pulling my 18' tandem axle toy hauler with a conventional ball hitch. There is just enough sway induced to start an oscillating movement of correction followed by over-correction enough to make it unsafe and unusable to the point I have to turn off Lane Centering if using cruise control. When I tow my 25' Airstream with a Hensley Arrow hitch then I can keep Lane Centering and Lane Keeping active without any issues. My truck has the full Blue Cruise package which makes it nearly autonomous driving on designated highways, but that feature is not available while towing. I've seen other people with 22 and later F-150s post that plugging anything into a trailer connector on their trucks disables the Lane Centering altogether (even if it's just a bicycle carrier with extra indicator lights). So this may have been changed on later year's production. Keep the great content coming!
You are absolutely correct in the oscillations on towing. I had a chat with some of the design folks at Ford about this and that was their thoughts as well. Lane keep assist works fine when towing, just a little jerky like I said, but lane centering will not work at all. Thank you so much for watching and your feedback! Happy adventures.
I have a 24 Platinum 350 love it! You can have the gauges up top show you the temps as well so you can use other screen. So much you can see it's wonderful. Strange your lane keep didn't work with that road mine works even on roads with no lines just need to be a certain speed.
That road was on a military base and that's the only place I've had an issue. Otherwise its, worked flawlessly. So glad to know you're enjoying yours too!
I can see were the adaptive cruise control will come in hand. My wife and I was talking and the vehicle in front of me stopped and I almost hit them. What does Blair think about this technology?
It was a great one!!! It was the veterans museum in O"Fallon. It was a parking lot, but very safe and they had 30 & 50 amp hookups and a wonderful staff who took us through their museum of all local veteran history!

Really great information on the adaptive cruise control. Wondered how that worked. Great job!
It's such a cool thing.
Brad: Come on. Whens the truck giveaway😂
I actually had a meeting with Ford last week about the truck but they wouldn't sponsor a giveaway with my small following!

She likes it too! Ive had your situation on a number of occasions where a minor distraction almost caused a major problem.
I didn’t realize it would drive you at non highway speeds. I will have to try it. Where can I get one of those hats?
Im working on a partnership with someone right now to make some more! Hopefully, Ill have some info soon!
Does the steering assist only turn on when cruise is on?
Steering assist works all the time above somewhere around 35mph. The lane centering only works on cruise control.
Ok but the Missourians want to know - where was the Harvest Host and was it a good one?
