- Опубліковано 21 січ 2020
- This is 2020 BMW 750Li, and it meets its grandfather, the E38 2001 740i, which costs far less and is rear wheel drive. Both are V8s, and both are BMW flagships of their time. But can the old one stack up, and is the new one worth the massive premium? James and Thomas jump behind the wheel of both to experience them and discuss them inside and out. Watch and enjoy. What a horrible looking car, the new one!
"If you can afford the new one ... just ask the dealer for a 4% discount and you could get both"
can’t believe how good the E38 still looks
“...and it has 1000 times more turbos, plus two”
I can't wait to see how the new 7 series will hold up in like 20 years. I doubt it will even do that...
“Ask the dealer for a 4% discount and you can get both” such a good way to end the video 😂😂😂😂
The E38 is one of the prettiest sedans of all time
These guys really gel well together, they are the ying and yang, Canadian & British. Its obvious they spend alot of time researching the cars they are going to review, like James looking up what the BMW online forums thought and wrote about the 7 series in 2001! I think these two are the top of their game with their channel, all the best for 2021! Matt from Sydney
I drove a 1988 7 series with 200k on the clock a few years ago and I was so surprised on what a comfortable and sporty drive it was. It was so well put together you could feel it in the drive, the seats, the suspension, the buttons.. everything. Though my Mazda 3 is much newer and has more technology, for a drive the bmw was a better ride and 30 years older. It made my Mazda 3 drive, look and feel cheap lol plus I also don’t think my Mazda would last or stay in as good of condition as the bmw has for 30 years
Coming soon :
"Did you fall into the grill"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
A BMW service guy once referred to the E38 as « the big car that thinks it’s a small car ». Very accurate. Despite its footprint, it was nimble.
I’ve owned a 98 740iL for years. Lowered on 20’ period correct Alpina rims. I’ve owned a 911,M3,S4,Alfa’s over the years. I’ve receive more compliments from teenagers to adults about the 7 than any of the others. It’s a timeless design
The ideal 7 series would look like the old one and have all the tech of the new one. That old 7 series must be one of the best looking sedans ever made.
The E38 might be old, but it will go down as one of the best looking sedans of all time
i really hope the first 7 series self driving ad is a bond throwback
Love this before and after comparisons. Favorite one so far is Lexus LS then and now. Keep up the good work guys.
In 20 years, let's see if the new 7 series looks as elegant and good as the E38.
The fact you mentioned Tomorrow Never Dies right off the bat, this is already fantastic
