I just removed the steering column and there was no ESL and I looked for the emulator and I couldn't find it either so I installed everything back on and I'm back to square one. The car is a 2015 Mercedes Benz C300 any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Nice work!!! 🎉 Can you post a video on how you got the steering wheel out or did you even have to do that? I ordered one from Michael too and my man that fixes Mercedes-Benz is backed up, so it would be amazing if I could do it myself! Hit me up and let me know! Awesome job!
You don’t need to remove the steering column. Just so you know UHS makes plug n play esl emulators where they don’t need replaced. You can buy the emulator yourself online and it’s just plug and play. You’ll save $150-$200 bs buying it online. Btw, use a local shop, tech, locksmith as they can support you after the fact. The unlock noise you hear is a little speaker emulating the sound. Keep in mind if you ever take the car to the Mercedes dealer for service and they find that stuff while doing diagnosis they will require you to replace said components so they can diagnose properly. A goood mobile tech, shop, locksmith can even take a used esl and write the data from an old to a new one.
How do you get the ESL out when it failed in the locked position? If mine failed in the unlocked position I could have got it off the steering column, but mine failed in the locked position. @@dtnel
@@tcal9230 Starting about two months before the esl completely failed, periodically I would put the key in and and it would not start. I would then take the key out and put in back in then it would start. This happened to occur more frequently before it completely failed. Before you take it all apart scan the car with a tool that can see the Mercedes codes. Taking the steering column out is a real pain. And if you can get that esl out while it is unlocked you won't have to put the whole column out.
I tried replacing the motor, but it didn't work. I noticed there were some very dark spots on the pc board inside the esl where the motor connected, so the pc board on mine was probably fried. It's worth a shot trying though. I had to get an emulator to delete the esl. Hope you get yours fixed. ua-cam.com/video/PoZkqtFGKcQ/v-deo.html
Man I’m so lost. I have a 2010 c300. Left the doors open too long battery died. Swapped battery(ended up putting negative on first by accident) checked fuses, checked relays…everything is good. My battery just so happened to drop a cell and was due to die anyway(auto store checked it). Nothing was popping up for DTCs. I decided to start pulling relays and all off a sudden I get p0607(performance control module error)… when I place key in ignition it says “remove key from ignition.” Jumping the car won’t even work… is this really my answer bro? Should I give this a go?
I'm just a DIYer. Perhaps get the car scanned with a Mercedes Scan tool to get more insight into what's going on. These cars are a **** to figure out and I was real close to sending mine to the junk yard.
Maybe It's possible that your ESL stuck in the unlocked position? The way I found out for sure was to use a scan tool that can read the Mercedes modules. See link in the description for the scanner I have. I didn't want to take the whole steering column out (which is a major pain in the ass) until I knew for sure with the scanner. I hope you get yours fixed.
@fixanythingdiy I found the guy they call him the key master. He came to my house and fixed it in my driveway. Put in an emulator, and it's all good 🙏🏾❤️ took him 2 hours.

@@fixanythingdiy lol I feel your pain bro. Exactly how i feel.
Nice work! Thanks for the shout out. I’m happy to help.

u throw out that big metal piece with old steering lock? remove it totally?
It is removed now. The emulator replaced it.
Where did you put the emulator, after connecting it? Just let it hang or...?
I just zip tied it under the kick panel

how much did it cost to program the new emulator?
I paid $280 to get the emulator programed. I hope you get yours fixed.
can I just replace the motor? without progamming?

How did u program the esl unit ?
I had to send the key and the ignition switch to a shop that programs the emulator to communicate with the car's system.
@@fixanythingdiy perfect thanks 👍
Love it ❤

Does it work on s 2009 c63 AMG? My steering wheel is not stuck but car wont crank everytime I try.
