Its a shame Monster does not get talked about a lot. Its literally one of my favourite Paramore songs - well I love all their songs but this is definitely on my top 10. I always end up singing/screaming out the lyrics at the top of my lungs every-time I listen to it.
Many years ago I had an argument with my dad and step-mum, I was left homeless and I stayed in the woods for a couple nights in the cold and dark, I burned books to keep warm but.. there was a couple of teens who played this song as they walked past and that gave me the inspiration and confidence to keep going, paramore kept me going and now I am doing well. Next day I sold almost all the belongings I had at the time to get a train ticket back to my true home.
They stopped playing this song because they wanted to distance themselves from their old album. I can understand them wanting to start a new path from their old stuff but I feel they should incorporate their older stuff a little more.
SonPan96 They change their setlist at the beginning of every tour to change it up a little and to bring these kinds of songs back to life for the fans, at least for a little while. I think it's understandable that the majority of the set will include most of their new songs as that's what they're trying to promote and is the direction they're heading in. They can't play the same old songs forever.
My one complaint is that when they play their older songs, Hayley sings them the same way she sings the new songs--happy. But that doesn't work for songs like Ignorance, Careful, or even Misery Business etc. For those songs to sound great, Hayley has to use her more raspy/angry/rock voice. If you sing those songs the same way you sing Ain't it Fun or Still Into You, it's just going to ruin the song. She might not do this all the time, but I've definitely seen multiple videos on youtube like that and it annoys me.

Paramore said countless of times that they made this EP to make you understand that if they wanted, they could still make songs with the same old formula. And that's the point: they don't want to. They're not teenagers anymore, they're not always angry at everything and everyone, they're open to experimenting. It's easier to do that when you're 3 and not a 5 piece band. 4 years passed between Brand New Eyes and the self-titled and that's a lot of time. People grow, they change. They lost members and took it as a chance to re-invent themselves. When this song came out everyone was surprise because how heavy it sounded. Now people like to come here and say stuff like 'oh, I miss this sound' when pretty much 3/4 of their discography doesn't come close to the darkness of this song. It's honestly super funny to me. My advice? Listen to the self-titled ALBUM and not its singles. It's different, sure, but do you think that Riot was a natural progression from AWKIF? That BNE was exactly like Riot? No, all of them are completely different from each other. The same band that made Misery Business also wrote My Heart. The band that wrote Ignorance also wrote The Only Exception. The same band that wrote Still Into You wrote Future.

Guys, paramore is not turning pop. There punk pop which is still a type of rock. Hayley even said it herself in an interview. Paramore is just going where no punk rock band has EVER gone. I love the many sounds of this group. Pop, rock, punkish. I don't mind the changes, they keep evolving and changing as the years go by. I don't really like how people are so harsh to the lead singer because she seems to be having fun, same as her musicians. Honestly, I think people are more upset by their new SOUND rather then their current lyrics, feel as a band, etc., despite whatever the hell they say. All of their songs still have meaning behind them, which I love, even if I am not the biggest fan of their new sound. This usually happens when bands sound more ''happier''. It's like this stupid war with the pop genre. There is nothing wrong with music that is just for fun versus music that is made to really make you feel something. Both can be equally enjoyable. Not all pop is bad, not all rock is good.

To this day this is one of my favorite Paramore songs. It had such an impact in me when I first saw it on MTV. I remember there was a lot of speculation during this time with the lineup change and all, than when I saw this video I remember thinking “Oh, that's amazing, they will be just fine”. My mother & father got me an iPod for my birthday 1 year & the girl my parents bought it from already had her songs downloaded on it. I was upset because I wanted to put my own songs on it but since it was a birthday gift, I accepted it. So while I was listening to a certain song, I realized it was on shuffle so when the song ended I skipped through them since they were all in a random order. I love the many sounds of this group. Pop, rock, punkish. I don't mind the changes, they keep evolving and changing as the years go by. I don't really like how people are so harsh to the lead singer because she seems to be having fun, same as her musicians. I love this song and I love Ain't it fun, I also liked Future and Decode, (even though I hate Twilight with a passion). To each their own.

Honestly, I think people are more upset by their new SOUND rather then their current lyrics, feel as a band, etc., despite whatever the hell they say. All of their songs still have meaning behind them, which I love, even if I am not the biggest fan of their new sound. This usually happens when bands sound more ''happier''. It's like this stupid war with the pop genre. There is nothing wrong with music that is just for fun versus music that is made to really make you feel something. Both can be equally enjoyable. Not all pop is bad, not all rock is good.

To this day this is one of my favorite Paramore songs. It had such an impact in me when I first saw it on MTV. I remember there was a lot of speculation during this time with the lineup change and all, than when I saw this video I remember thinking “Oh, that's amazing, they will be just fine”. And I'm happy I was right and they are still creating amazing music and evolving each new record ❤️

I’ve been listening to Paramore since 2012. I remember when I 1st heard them it was actually by accident. Heh, heh. My mother & father got me an iPod for my birthday 1 year & the girl my parents bought it from already had her songs downloaded on it. I was upset because I wanted to put my own songs on it but since it was a birthday gift, I accepted it.
So while I was listening to a certain song, I realized it was on shuffle so when the song ended I skipped through them since they were all in a random order.
My finger got tired & decided to stop hitting the “shuffle” button & it just so happened to land on Crush, Crush, Crush by Paramore & ever since then I’ve been listening to them.
