I’m so glad you did this video, I am wanting to make my mother a Shaw and I am as soon as I get the yard. I have everything but a light weight yarn 🧶 so so pretty ❤😍🧶🧶
Working on this as a rectangular shawl for myself using a mandala self-stripping yarn. It is so beautiful! I love making things using corner to coner patterns. I will definitely be using this stitch pattern again and again.
Dear Tuula, Thank you for sharing…this is an absolutely beautiful pattern. I’ll have to put it on my To do list! Take care and stay safe and well. God’s blessings to all 🙏🏽💜🧶🥰😻🐶
On this video I'm showing how to make the rectangular shape although this is not the exact same stitch, you need to add the picots and one chain more in between the pixels. ua-cam.com/video/ODmlCoztJvs/v-deo.htmlsi=Ct4b2ocWdtc-q2Ot&t=524 Maybe one day I'll make a video of the exact stitch in rectangular.
Hi Tuula. Thank you for this beautiful pattern…I am not very experienced, so I try to understand WHY I do each step instead of just doing it…it helps me a lot. For this pattern it took me a while to remember not to chain 2 after the first cluster in a row. Then I figured out why…because the chain 10 has 2 unworked stitches at the start…which counts as the 2 chains. I was over the moon when I got it! Maybe this will help someone who is like me🙂
This is such a beautiful shawl. I have started one using Lion Brand Mandala sparkle yarn #3 color is Nova. It is turning out so beautifully. Thank you for the video. I am subscribing to your channel.
Very pretty! I have a big skein of Lion Brand Summer Nights yarn (& part of another skein) & this pattern will be perfect for that yarn! Thank you for an excellent tutorial!
I would really need to make a different video showing that. I have shown it on a video where I make a very similar C2C but without the picots, I wonder if that would help you. I'm linking to the stop on that video where the decreasing starts. ua-cam.com/video/ODmlCoztJvs/v-deo.html
It's a wonderful scarf, i think this one will be mine! I'm looking for a long time to find my preferred pattern. Thank you so much for sharing. Please would you give me an exact indication for the last straight edge? 💯 Thanks
Great, make one 😊 The last edge could be done in a number of ways. One way is just do it exactly like every row. Or then could leave picots out. Or if you want it straight, an easy way for that is to ch2, single crochet in a picot, ch2, sc in chain loop and repeat that the whole way.
Dear Tuula, I just fell in love with this pattern...but I would love to use it for making a Summer-Jumper..out of rectangles..rather than a triangluar shape....So my question is..can you make the same pattern but in a rectangular form?...have you already made a video out of my request?... I do have multicoloured cotton yarn..and just want to make a rather rectangular jumper you can use over whatever light t-shirt you are wearing..when summer nights get chilly....the pattern should look interesting and lacy and should not be all that much see through...so this pattern is just brilliant here...but I need to figure out how to make a jumper out of triangles..? ...so I hope you can give me some tips..or direct me to one of your already existing videos... again my Question is..SAME PATTERN..but in RECTANGULAR FORM... Thank you so much...bless you ...Seleina from Germany :)
That would work well for a jumper. I have the lighter form of thie C2C stitch where I also show how to make it rectalgular. That can quite easily be adapted to this one with the added picots. This link should go directly to that part of the video where you start decreasing ua-cam.com/video/ODmlCoztJvs/v-deo.htmlsi=F8MUmttjhQqz8ikG&t=506
Dear Tuula ~ i'm always charmed by your videos and enjoy learning from you. How many skeins for this shawl? I look forward to your videos and travels! Kind regards from Portland, Oregon USA
Thank you so much! The finished shawl in wool weighs about 200 grams (7oz) so depends on the size of the skeins. Heavier yarn would take more, mine is sport weight. Very light one takes less. Greetings from Finland!
Thank you Tuula, this is a gorgeous pattern. Can it be made into a rectangular shawl snd what would yhe multiple be? Thank you for all your informative video.
Yes, it can be done rectangular by ending the increases. I have this video about a lighter C2C but without picots. This link goes to the part of the video where it starts to make it rectangular. ua-cam.com/video/ODmlCoztJvs/v-deo.htmlsi=USlmBybPgONCcwG9&t=524
I have done the last row without picots on the top side and then made a row of chains jumping from one stitch to anther, having enough chains in between so it doesn't pull the top tighter. I don't have any of the shawls with me now so I can't check the number of chains. You can also make the top edge more solid by adding a row of single crochets into the chains.
Do you have something covering the bottom part of your screen? I went through the video and didn't see anywhere where the stitches I work with wouldn't fully show except in a couple of spots where it dips down when pulling the yarn through in a picot. Which part of it doesn't show to you?
Depends so much on the yarn you are using. The thicker yarn, the more you need. In Double knitting weight one shawl, height from the tip 65 cm weighs 200 grams.
Yes, I normally block more or less everything I make. Depends a bit on the material you use. All types of wools and cottons need blocked. I hardly ever use acrylic so I'm not sure about it.

Easy and very pretty! Thank you!
Glad you like it!
Such a pretty stitch for a lightweight shawl.
Yes, I love it, I have already made 3 or 4 shawls using this!
Stunning pattern, looks absolutely devine in mohair. My go to edging is row od SC and than row of twistested SC. Thanks Tuula, you're a gem.
I'm sure it looks great in mohair, I haven't tried that! A great idea for a border too 💜

Oh right! I don't really get it, would need to start crocheting that to get it! But good it helped you!
Beautiful stitch pattern!! Perfect for a spring shawl or wrap. 🧶💕🧶
True, great for the warmer weather! 😊

Wonderful! Sounds like a great yarn for the project!
Fabulous tutorial. I needed a modesty panel for a dress and made this to insert and it's perfect!
Great idea!
Thanks for sharing this pattern. Do we leave the edge of the final row as is?
Yes, I will in my shawl. If you prefer, you could do some sort of a border, or a row of single crochets or reverse single crochets.
@@TuulaMaaria thank you ☺️
How do I stop on one edge to make a long scarf? Very pretty pattern, love it!❤️

Much appreciated
Hello Tuula, how do we make the upper edge of the shawl with a straight edge? Thankyou😊
@@TuulaMaaria Is there a tutorial to show how to do this at the end.
@@stephanielandon5218 please see the answer to this right above your question. But mostly I just simply stop when the item is big enough.
Super👍👍👍👍🥀🥀🥀🥀😍
Thank you!
How many numbers of rows to finish project .Thanks
It depends on the size you want it to be, you just continue until it is big enough.
Very easy to understand directions. Please be careful to keep your hands under the camera. Often the stitches are below my view. Nice work. Thank you.

One complete shawl how much yarn need ?
Depends so much on the yarn you are using. The thicker yarn, the more you need. In Double knitting weight one shawl, height from the tip 65 cm weighs 200 grams.
How do you decrease please
Do you mean if you stop increasing or make it rectangular?
Do you have to block this?
Yes, I normally block more or less everything I make. Depends a bit on the material you use. All types of wools and cottons need blocked. I hardly ever use acrylic so I'm not sure about it.
