There’s another show that was animated by the same people. It’s called Lego Monkie Kid, and it’s also a really good underrated show. Why is it always the shows animated by these people that don’t get recognized??

I personally think that Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came at probably the worst time while the fans were grieving the end of the 2012 series and the tone always change of the characters we know.

@@Primetime_inc I like to think that since Odysseus does come back home to Ithaca alive, the line means that yes, he did manage to make it home, but he’s been so changed and damaged by the journey that he’s no longer the man that he used to be when he left for the Trojan war (See: “When does a man become a monster”, “What if I became the monster?”). I know it’s the entire point of prophecies to be mysterious and have multiple meanings depending on how a person interprets it but damn is it annoying not knowing exactly what’s going to happen 😢
@@missylveon576 thanks for the context and literary insight, but my comment was referring to the fact that the line was so accurate to the situation the Hamato brothers face in the movie. Leo "[makes] it home alive", but it's not the Leo that is being spoken to. A song that wasn't about the Rottmnt movie that was weirdly accurate to the movie. The same goes for the comment above aswell. That's literally what happens. Mikey "[helps]" Leo "get home", but it doesn't happen in Future Mikey's timeline so it's "not a world he [knows]".

"A brother's final stand" physically hurts-
One of my favorite shots from the movie was when Future Mikey settled onto his feet to open the portal, because it looked like the Earth had to *pull him* out of the air, like Mikey no longer really belonged upon it. I really loved that you included a similar moment here. Throughout this, the grief and acceptance on Mikey’s face just absolutely takes me out at the knees.
One of my favorite shots too. They took two shots of mikey landing on the ground and then having his weight settle onto his feet. Absolutely stunning.

I love how fluid you made Mikey's movements, and the way his cape moved with him, and how you established the smoke from the candles and used them as a tool to use in the narrative, and I love their expressions, and the Mikey's pupiless expression and I love the final shot with Mikey's burning bandana to represent not only the loss of his life but also the loss of his childhood and identity, and that final passage with only the music in the background and ARGH HOW ARE YOU SO GOOD?? AT MAKING ME HURT???
As a musical theatre kid first and foremost we’ve GOT to acknowledge the vocals of this singer there’s so much emotion in his voice which is perfect for the turtles’ personalities and own voicing of emotion and grief- and holy crap the lyrics and orchestration are so freaking good, the entire edit itself is so chilling from Mikey’s graceful illustration to seeing the last two brothers together and the way these lyrics work so well with the story???

Edit: me realizing the "It's no longer you" isn't Mikey telling Leo he's going to die before he finds peace (like I originally assumed the song was saying, and like how Leo originally would assume in MNMC). Instead it's Mikey morning the amount of loss of Leo's sense of self, and that he'll only reunite with the turtle fam so scathed by the horrors that he'll become almost unrecognizable from where he is in the animatic.

Keeping this on loop while I draw Future Mikey and LORDY it helps a lot. The vibes are immaculate and fit him so well. And the art is so perfect- I adore this idea of Mikey. I really wish we got to see more of him in the movie.

The flow of the scene and the way the camera moves is just mesmerizing. The part where the smoke forms Donnie's silhouette and Mikey's hand goes through it alluding to his death is just...oof. And then the silhouette of Raph protecting Leo, implying that's how he dies - uGH, MY HEART

It's so satisfying seeing one of my favorite dsmp animators move on to the same fandom that I have as well.
Both friccafracc and you have been making some amazing fan content in the rise fandom so it just makes me happy to see.
Anyways, this is beautiful. I love how it almost completely resembles the Karl one you did nearly a year ago.
I do feel like Mikey could have possibly had the power to look into the future. And I do agree that Mikey burned his mask because he didn't want to think about Leo putting it on his sword one day. I'm almost positive that the author is going in the direction of having Mikey the one who sent Leo back to his brothers, but It's still not confirmed yet so we'll wait and see.
God this animation is incredible, the way the song fits perfectly with the characters makes me just want more ROTTMNT. Incredible job dude, i'm gonna think about this for a while
God I keep coming back to watch this over and over again it’s so good. I love how the lyrics fit so well with the lore - as though Mikey knows of the world where they win, but also the bittersweet truth that they won’t be a part of it, and worse they’ll have to lose to make it. Just- ahfkfnffk it’s so so good, and the fluidity of Mikey’s movements? Fits so so well with the waltz of the song. I could watch this for hours

I actually could not contain my amazement and sprung up from my seat the first time I've watched this. Cause holy crap! This is one of the best animations I've seen in a long while! The way Mikey uses the smoke to form figures, the way he subtly snatches the family picture from Leo, the end scene!! Incredible, props to you a thousand times
We see future Mikey for maybe 15 seconds in the movie,I hope that we can explore the cannon design more!

The way Mikey moves is amazing! He flows so well, guiding the smoke into a story, his face shows more than what we can see, acceptance perhaps? He seems so mysterious and at peace, knowing what will happen and accepting there is nothing that can be done to change this timeline! Leo looks lost and you really perceived his need for guidance within this animation!! Everything about this is truly phenomenal and I will pay millions to see a spinoff series of the bad timeline made by you!!/pos

I just watched this multiple times now like 😭💙💙 I loved how fluid Mikey is! I also love how Mikey's eyes through the whole thing except the end are just white, like he is having a vision, and the animation is portraying that he is in a middle of a vision and relaying a "prophecy" to Leo, almost warning him or making him aware of what's to come? And then the ending with the text and fire was just the icing in the cake 😭👌🏾💙💙 I love this so much!
Also I realized how this is like a great headcannon/ AU material??? Where as Mikey slowly develops his mystic powers he also starts to see visions of the future and past?? Someone needs to do like a deeper dive!

I love how you made everything flow together here with Mikey, the smoke, and the camera movements. And omg the song fits so well. I really like how you chose to add the bit at the end with Mikey still wearing a mask and then the mask burning because it shows so much about him and really puts the demeanor his future self has into perspective.

i'm over analyzing a clip this in tears because I just read the first couple paragraphs of MNMC.. okay so here's my take. this totally makes sense the line "I see a man who makes it out alive, but its no longer you" is canon, no really it should be because in the scrapped movie intro scene its states that leo was trying to send a team back in time to stop the kraang. He planned that he'd get to go back home and said "see you guys soon" holding the family photo. But in this animatic is literally showing us that this is what we could have got .one: leos plan to send himself "home" failed two: the man who got to make it out alive (unexpectedly) was casey jr. And in the end credits of this animatic the entire paragraph is right, it makes sense, and mikey canonically being the most in tune with his mystic abilities makes it even better. (I wrote this so I'd stop crying over the linked fic, also holy moly this animatic is mind blowing I am speechless)
