That makes Monster- where Odysseus turns his back on kindness- hurt SO MUCH MORE. Now not only is Polites dead, but the part of him Odysseus was carrying is dead too.

Oh NO, that's actually heartbreaking. When I was imagining the animations in my mind while listening to the underworld I imagined (taking from one of the animators) that polites threw him an apple that he tried to catch (symbolizing asking him to be kind) but it fazed through his hand. I think in the overall scheme of things he succeeds in a way. Odysseus will have his crew turn on him in Act 2 after he refused to protect them from Scylla and realize being a callous asshole all the time doesn't make you right either. Okay, I think I caught a really cool detail at 00:30 That feminine figure that appears right before the main part of the song, in the Odyssey text, when the crew is in the underworld and spooky stuff starts to happen, they suspect is Persephone's doing, as she in ancient Greece was widely feared as a very scary queen of the dead type, I wonder if this feminine figure is a reference to that If it is this is very very cool!

like in every myth ive heard, Hades is the most chill of the greek big 3
@@alakazamlover4908 he doesn't do much. but he's not exactly fond of it.
eg. a man wanted to bring his wife back from the dead. hades agrees, but through a rule. "you mustn't look back, or you will fail". and he did look back, so his wife's soul was sent back to the underworld.
hades is chill. but he doesn't like those who mess with the underworld and its balance. he won't actively do stuff, but he some rules.
@@halfknight2310 oh no i know that much, i never said he had no rules, i just meant he's chill if you come to the underworld as long as you obey them
Odyessus for example, he let comes to the underworld to find this prophet
but on the other hand, there was the guy who captured the God of death and well....
The infant part gets me each time! Damn I just wanna enjoy my meal but shit I gotta cry XD
Also damnnnnn that's a peek animatic! Your shots are Hella thought through and creative, it's really amazing
The 558 men died are so much worse since they’re stuck in/ on the wrong side of the river Styx since they weren’t properly buried with money for the ferryman Charon. If I member correctly they have to wait 100 years before they get an afterlife
I was crying and yelling “no”when I was first listening to it!! Especially when he realizes his mom is gone…😭😭
I love the boat flipping to the underworld... the only other representation of that transition to the underworld is in Pirates (of the Caribbean) but it's so fitting for Epic
I’ve never been so excited for the artists to make animatics of a saga
He's in the River Styx. The boat filled over into the river styx. Wow. Btw i love the animatic
the part with his mom got me crying 😭😭 their voices are so magical together it makes me so sad
Everyone else find Polites part to be the saddest. But here I am crying at his mother's because it made me missed mine so much 😭
Holy shit this was fast and it looks so good?????? My god (immediately added to my Epic animated playlist)
The waiting part just reminds me of my great grandma who died and I had her funeral yesterday and I'm like "nope don't cry in the car" also I drank like 4 cups of hot chocolate at the funeral, yes I have problems what about it
Okay, I think I caught a really cool detail at 00:30
That feminine figure that appears right before the main part of the song, in the Odyssey text, when the crew is in the underworld and spooky stuff starts to happen, they suspect is Persephone's doing, as she in ancient Greece was widely feared as a very scary queen of the dead type, I wonder if this feminine figure is a reference to that
If it is this is very very cool!
I thought it was Circe
@@martinvicentefabregas7240
Could be, multiple interpretations are cool
The ship turning over Pirates of The Carribean Reference was awesome :]
God this is so good in so many ways! Anticlea’s part in the song has always made me cry and you’ve made it so much worse (this is a good thing. It hurts more) The visuals with the soldiers coming out of the water (especially when they FORM POSEIDON) is just so awesome and creepy!
Dude, that was so fast yet so beautifully made and cool. 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you soooo much!!😭😭💗💗
It’s kinda interesting that explained by Jorge that if explored further, Hades would have a positive music beat which highly contrasts this song
Intentional or not; I was getting POTC World's End vibes from this 0:32
I am sobbing ;-; the song is so powerful, and then polities just comes flying in UGHHH UGLY CRYING
Everytime Odysseus’ mom sings I’m crying. Damn voice of an angel
This is so good! And I love the transition from the world of the living to the underworld!!
Thank you!!!!
i simply love this series and animation if all myths were resembled like that everyone would be a history nerd
Polytes and his mother didnt make me cry hearing it but seeing it animated? I'm destroyed
Ah fuck. Ive been marathoning animatics of this musical ever since I found it a few days ago...and the moment his mom says "I love you" it just hit me so hard I teared up.
Bestie had this animatic locked and loaded lmao
Naw fr like this was soo good
How dare you, and also thank you for this😭😭
"I took to long" almost made me tear up...
the way polites and odyseus' mom were illustrated literally bring me to tears everytime, i think I've watched this animatic like 5 times now
I swear I’ve never seen animators work so fast and produce such high quality content as EPIC fan animators. It’s really impressive!!!
( If someone is reading this in the future for context this video was posted 20hrs ago and the song came out yesterday)
Polites return here was a punch in the gut. Polites return in Love In Paradise was a kick to the nuts
