Large ABANDONED Apartment Building Where Strange Things Happened

  • This Building is Cursed
    I am going to tell you about three stories that happened to me, a friend of mine and a complete stranger involving this formerly abandoned apartment building.
    My friend had told me about this place when he had read that there was a zoning application in the works to redevelop the property. A few weeks later I got a message from him, he said he was in the hospital after he had broken his leg. As we were talking he had mentioned that he was at this location checking it out when he got spooked by something and I guess took a wrong step and collapsed. He couldn't walk anymore and ended up having to call for help eventually landing him in the hospital.
    I decided to go and check on the location a few months later and it was pretty great. I was outside taking exterior photos and was standing about 8 feet up on a ledge above a set of stairs that led to the parking garage. Somehow I made a wrong step and fell onto the concrete steps, fortunately landing on my bum onto a pile of leaves and my head did not swing back and hit the ground. I got up and immediately searched for damage, surprisingly nothing, I was very lucky and escaped unscathed.
    Finally, there is a video of someone having explored this location after our visits. He went into the parking garage (which is an area that I had never explored), there were a lot of leftovers down there but one in particular that caught his eye. He found what looked to be a fairly large gym bag and as he opens it up, there are stacks of bills folded in half and held together by rubber bands...the whole bag is full of money! Naturally he starts to get nervous since law abiding citizens don't usually leave a gym bag full of cash in an abandoned building. He guessed that there must have been about $50,000 inside the bag. I don't know if this really happened or not and to this day I remain skeptical but honestly, although farfetched, it is definitely not impossible.
    The new building that is replacing this one is 5 stories and contains 12 units ranging in size from 3000-6000 square feet. The price range for the condos is a staggering $6.5-$12.5 million dollars, I can only imagine what the monthly maintenance fees will be like!
    What do you guys think, is this building cursed or was it just a series of strange and unfortunate events? Let me know in the comments below!

    I'm sick that a developer would take this place down. It looks to be structurally sound. If the developer wants to sell them as expensive condos, then redo them with high end finishes and upgraded kitchens instead of putting all of this in a landfill. I get so annoyed seeing places like this torn down for more poorly built and much more expensive prices. Rant over lol. Another great explore James!

    • @StaticSpaces
      @StaticSpaces  Рік тому +1

      Ya i get it but this will never stop. Honestly it's the governments fault because they are the ones who allow it. Honestly though, i don't know if retrofitting buildings would actually lower prices or not, i think it may actually increase them. But there is no doubt that the costs for a home here are already astronomical. Thank you very much for the comment KMF!!

    • @hennybee9977
      @hennybee9977 Рік тому +1

      Don't be ridiculous it's not the government. It's developers people have money and want to make money. Stop blaming the government for this

    • @StaticSpaces
      @StaticSpaces  Рік тому +1

      But what if there was no demand for new housing, do you think that developers would still be building new homes? I mean yes, it's not entirely the government's fault, there are many factors involved including us, the consumers. But the reality is, development companies are businesses just like any business and they can't operate at a loss.

    Hmmm, never remembering seeing this place before but I seldom watch abandoned home tours where there is basically nothing but stale air inside as it initially appeared. Stuck with it this time because there was a bra in the fridgeand surprise, there ARE random bits and bobs and much other odd stuff in many of the rooms! ...If I would have found all that ABANDONED $$$ it would have been mine - IF that story is true then that other explorer is as dumb as a bag of rocks if he left it there! Did he? or are YOU the rich man now?💰🤑...That "electronic voice" you heard could be a hidden ring doorbell. ...Definitely need sunglasses in that ultra-white building😎 - good grief! ...Yep, that one lady in the photo certainly was bright orange🟠 - another good grief! ...And finally, yes - another perfectly good building going to be destroyed by another greedy developer! It appears that the tenants were quickly evicted then the bastard lets the place stand vacant and slowly rot for years?? Hopefully he will have one of those bad accidents you spoke of, or maybe he already has!🤣😂PS: The small records are 45s, the large ones are albums - the ones I see are great jazz LPs - and will be a terrible waste if they get destroyed in demolition! Why someone would leave their valuable record collection behind is mind-boggling!...and NO COMMENT on your toilet shot!

      Ya, i don't think anyone else posted a video from here other than that one guy. IDK, if it belonged to the mob or was part of a drug deal it could be a really bad idea to take it. Lol This one was only aba dined for about a year or two, so not too long. Ah yes 45s that does sound familiar actually. Glad you enjoyed this one despite it not being your usual taste. But you should know by now that if i post a video of a location, there is good reason. Usually something unique about it. Thanks very much for the comment Bill!!
