      I'm sure they can afford a cheap pair of work boots for about $40 at Walmart. Their videos are interesting and fun, but their safety precautions are damn near non existent.

      I've mentioned this to Dan and several other urbexers who blithely walk around over piles of lumber building materials that came down decades ago, with rusty nails and animal feces, etc, all over the place. Not wearing masks is similar to riding a Harley or other "Sonermichael," as my dad used to call 'em, without a helmet (anyone who doesn't should take a good look at Gary Busey).

      bah, whats a tetanus or multiples or nasty deadly infection and losing a foot from feces being driven to the bone stepping on glass, nails or other sharp object maybe even some used needles with drugs, disease or other nasty STD possibly still thriving.

    I went to college there in u circle and knew people that lived there like 25 years ago. To be honest, it wasn't much better then. There were constant complaints about vermin, broken and unsafe facilities, drug and prostitution activity, muggings and the whole nine yards. I think Rick Sera lived there at the time and thought it was wonderful.

      Blu Butch also some proper shoes, not sneakers. Some gloves would be a good idea too, especially if you fall and need to grab onto something.

    • @AKAtheA
      @AKAtheA 6 років тому +4

      Gloves are overrated. They are holding cameras in their hands, so they'd need something compliant and flexible. The the same time, something puncture resistant. There ain't such a glove on the market. Everything else would be either unwealdy or provide insufficient protection, so...better to just not touch shady looking stuff.
      Shoes definitely though. Both protection against pointy bits and it's a lot harder to sprain your ankle in proper boots. Unlike the gloves, there are nice shoes available that both protect and are comfy.

    • @Dracale
      @Dracale 6 років тому +4

    I have been to the neighborhood where this is, and it has a long history of decay going back to just after World War II.
    It has definitely gotten nicer since hitting rock bottom in the 1960s, but isn't the type of area most people in the region would consider "nice."
    Cleveland also has a huge problem with scrappers, four people were arrested for taking scrap metal from a house out on the east side back in May, which caused the house they were taking the metal from to explode due to a gas leak, destroying the house and two others on either side.

    • @throttlebottle5906
      @throttlebottle5906 6 років тому +2

      they steal and pilfer to feed drug habits, at once point the scrap values were so high you could easily make thousands a week, of course everyone started scrapping for extra cash and then the major thieving started, stealing new cars parts right off the lots.
      it got bad enough they quit taking many items, then got forced to have your photo, fingerprints, drivers license, vehicle make model and plate and you cannot have a felony to cash in scrap ;) of course they find ways around that by having a "friend" without felony cash in, but get caught with stolen good and you'll have one also...

      @@dampergoldenrod4156 there's a lot of past that doesn't leave the present here, it's a very interesting geological and energetic area with the history of the original people who lived here before Moses Cleaveland, before a city, and the salt mines, lei lines, just a very intense kind of energy spiritually here. It's not a good idea to be an atheist in Cleveland I think, lol, but I don't worry about it, I'm definitely one of those people who believes in what I do not have to see to know that I know it is... And here is one of those places where we have to deal with a lot of people, including ourselves that aren't always the best version but it is what gets you to understand more about people. You are aware of what's what... But we're got the grandchildren of the 60s ideology raising babies in the same oblivious mythology that shit is just like the way it was 40 years ago, but it isn't, it's kinda like two different mindsets of people coexist in the same place but the ones who are not woke just really need to hold on to the other mythology and then another Generation of kids grow up in disillusionment and doubt that don't have to, that river stopped burning 51 years ago...

    Unfortunately..... Cleveland has so many abandoned buildings, stores, house etc... it's sad :( especially when you see how much money has been dumped into certain areas while other parts are just forgotten about. Cleveland is a weird place and I've lived here my whole life. You truly never can get used to despair.. you can learn to ignore it/get used to it but it's always still their visually. Sad..

      @Vaughn reed jr Fort Worth is nice but it has his bad side like those buildings that haven't been demolished. Also the entire country loves Dallas more, when you talk to someone and mention Dallas they know what city you are talking about, and when you mention fort Worth they all like " what city is that" therefore Dallas is a nicer city.

    It's amazing how thorough the scrappers were at getting to every last bit of copper wiring and piping that they could.
    I remember this building, from visits to see my sister, when she lived in Cleveland and was working at Cleveland Clinic.
    Everyone in her circle knew the building, and complained about it. But none of them every did anything more about it, to get it torn down. It's crazy how "nice" the rest of the area around it is, what a huge contradiction it shows.
    Respirators, guys. Seriously. i know they are not comfortable, but... your lungs will thank you for wearing them later.

ONE piece of rusty wire, broken glass or plastic, one splinter, can change your whole trip in a big hurry. Not just tetanus but staph and hep infections can take you out, since you din't know who or what has been in there just before you. Take care.
