What a life saver man! Whenever I look up how to grow peppers, I am overloaded by all this bullshit I need to do such as steps, things I need to buy, when to plant, correct temperature, the correct direction the seed is supposed to be facing when sowing, how to properly water the plant, how many times you can pet the plant, etc, and it would make me frustrated with all that information. Then I found your channel and you simply tell me how to do it. I really can't thank you enough, you earn my sub and like.

I soaked 5 seeds in cold tea before I planted them. I put them in a little zip lock bag , which I put in my mouth so I could reach for my tools. Those seeds enthused the tea with capsaicin and I could really feel the heat. I can't wait for them to grow. They're sprouting.

These videos helped out so much in my understanding as what I've done wrong from the "expertise" of my local greenhouse's.
Literally everything they sold me was wrong, advice was wrong.
I'm hoping to now finally grow some peppers this year.
All of my attempts have failed, and I couldn't understand why & nobody had answers. I understand now clearly.

I'm really anxious for more information and I want more! I picked up gardening as a hobby because of the pandemic and I killed all of my seedlings with Kellogg soil that compacted and rotted the roots of my plants. I followed this guide for starting seeds, and I had the best germination on my 3rd generation of seeds. Sadly my Carolina Reaper plant died along with about 7 others, but thankfully we have a long growing season in Arizona so I still have time for a pepper harvest! Please release more, this information is gold to new gardeners like myself!

I usually start my seeds in empty foam egg cartons. Cut off the top for a tray, stab an "X" in the bottom of each cell for drainage, then fill with potting soil. Transplant the plant when it is a couple inches tall. Good way to get some use out of old plastic, and basically free. Fits on a windowsill perfectly.

    This is marvelous.
I'm doing my first year of trying to sprout my own crop from seeds this year. I did an experiment last year to see if I could get sprouts from harvested seeds and got an over 90% germination rate, so I've got ten varieties, 12 each in the tenter-dome thing, all in the window until we get to the point where I can put them outside and let the sun do its thing.
The "paper towels" reference killed me. I know from whence that comes, and appreciate what that means. Thank you.

Is there a reason you don't pre-germinate your seeds prior to planting? coming from a cannabis background, peppers are all new to me.

Hi Ed! I brought a reaper home last year in a 6” Bonnie pot and it managed to survive the SoCal winter. Coming back ok so far but lots of yellowing, what is it trying to tell me?

Here's an idea put a GoPro on your plants and then time lapse them for video in the future.

Good idea. That would take a lot of sd cards

I thought the reaper seeds were more finicky and needed to be put in black tea for 30 minutes and what not for them to germinate faster? I'm just wondering because the way Ed did it, is the way I grow everything else.

All that stuff isn't necessary. They'll pop. Saying that though, a lot of videos on YT are from other countries. Here in UK, doing all you can to help germination and keep seedlings alive is helpful.
I'd just say don't go OTT and spend time or money you don't have. Let nature run its course...

Some of my plants started with 3 leaves instead of 2, mutation? or is this common.
