The most obvious thing to me is the lack of guardians in ToTK
Sorry to tell you but the guardians are not in the game only the dead ones are
Well we haven’t seen some enemies
@@nathanielmitchell7516why you sorry?
@@nathanielmitchell7516 the dead ones are gone aswell
The guardians where ganons creation and I'm pretty sure he isn't the main boss in TOTK but I could be wrong
The shadows and lighting looks more dynamic in totk
Also the angle of the sun is totally different.
@@imagomonkei ...It's a different month and time of day...
I wonder if they'll ever explain why the sun is at a different angle now. I know the lighting is better, but it's weird that the shadows are going in the opposite direction.
I’m curious about this as well 🧐
The seasons…? I mean time has passed??? I know there’s tons of theories about time travel (which I also sort of like) but the most reasonable one would be how seasons normally work-
It actually seems like it is set in a different season, not just the sun but less foliage like flowers on the ground and places that were covered in snow are not any more.
It seems BotW was set in spring, and TotK in summer.
I agree that it does seem to be in a different season. From a more practical point of view, however, changing the angle of the lighting is a relatively effortless way for the developers to make locations appear visually unique and interesting to players that have visited them hundreds of times before.
When combined with differences in vegetation and removal/modification/addition of assets, I think the landscapes will feel surprisingly fresh.
Oops, forgot to kill the bokoblins by Proxim bridge before diving at the end. 😅🤣
You sound like your playing
some of the enemy camps are gone in totk i wonder if that’s part of the actual game or if they just got rid of enemies so he didn’t get killed or attacked in the middle of the gameplay trailer
So when link goes into head-first mode during his fall, it appears that he's still falling at the same speed as BotW, with only the speed lines giving the illusion of faster travel. 🤔
He's definitely falling faster. I had to slow down the botw clip ever so slightly to get them to match up.
@@RMFHGaming Ah, that explains it.
@@RMFHGaming You could have done the sword speed up to get link to fall faster in BotW.
the most notable change I've seen is the addition of physics based fog in the depths and the caves/wells apart from the obvious gameplay mechanics/ability changes in terms of visual fidelity. also somehow the water looks so much more natural in totk. also when you are above the clouds, the sunset/ sunrise looks absolutely mesmerising 💀
I dont care at all it is "the same map", in fact i think it's clever + this version of Hyrule is worth revisiting considering how much work was put into it. It would actually be a shame not to take advantage of that and built up and down, all around. Its kind of the same situation back them with TLOZ MM and TLOZ OT. The fact the can spend all that time on new contend instead of the world map is win-win to everyone. The Ascend ability will mitigate the feeling of having to climb the spots we already got to. Not to mention flying from the sky islands.
Mm reused assets, not the map at all. I find this to be really lazy and makes this feel more like an expansion rather than an actual sequel, and the fact it costs more than botw for the same map is a slap in the face. If any other game did this, fans would complain nonstop. It's only getting a pass cause it's zelda.
@@Viichan777 that's what I've been sayin, fans see any innovation in this game at all an act like it's revolutionary
@@Viichan777 goty right here! Ill be back tho rain or shine even if im wrong
@Victoria Hernandez BOTW did so much for the media that it earn its sequel. The budget saved in assets will do wonders for more optimization, mechanics and new locations. You can still get fun and amazed even if it's the same place or assets, videogames allow that posibility if done properly.
@@Viichan777 oh shut it
Just started totk and I think it’s better than botw, here’s why. sky islands, underground caves, and the new abilities are way better. Also korok seeds are easier to get bc of the deliver to friend quests
That korok wearing a backpack…
I played Zelda on a game boy when I was 6 and I liked it but never really got into it because I had dragon ball z legacy of Goku 2 and all the Mario games . However I bought a switch oled and still never played BOTW until now. Once I beat it I’ll buy this . I guess I’m hooked but we will see that one on game boy was so much fun
Guys, genuine question:
Im about to buy a Nintendo Switch OLED to play Zelda, but im having trouble deciding if I should buy Zelda BOTW first and ToTK after it. I dont have free time like I used to, and I know this game is ginormous and I'm sure I wont be playing both for 200+ hours each.
What do you guys recommend?
If you care about experiencing the story yourself I recommend playing BotW before TotK. Otherwise you could watch a story recap and just start off with TotK. Zeltik just made an excellent video going over the story for BotW. I hope that helps!
Botw explains the story but totk can be played not knowing the story and it’s overall better
Totk won't be nearly as amazing if you don't play botw first
@@nicholasthomas447 I prefer BotW.
Botw isn't required reading, that said in glad I played botw before TOTK, with botw fresh in my mind I get to notice the things they changed and get to think about why they changed it.
Very interesting.
Botws go faster button on switch says yah! We're as totks says go!
Cool idea!
Thanks! Took forever to gather all the footage 😅
@@RMFHGaming lmao I can imagine!
Looks great! My brain is exploding I’m so excited 🤯
You and me both!
Why do people complain about it being similar? Just don’t buy it! It’s not like you’re going to convince me to dislike it!
We don’t need that kind of negativity.
Did you see your tweet featured on Kotaku?
I did! I’m still shocked about it lol.
i love it, im in TEARS of happiness...😪
If I wanted to reduce the draw distance, what would I have to do?
I know you can increase it via Cemu. Removing the graphics pack would set it back to the standard setting. I don’t have the program anymore so idk how you’d reduce it any further.
@@RMFHGaming yeah unfortunately I don't use cemu, I'm using yuzu
Ohhhh ok. I’m not sure how to do it via Yuzu. I’ll look into it and get back to you sometime this weekend.
@@RMFHGaming oh awesome, I appreciate it
When you said both versions of BOTW, I didn't know what you were talking about until you put Wii U on the screen. That poor console.
The switch is similarly underpower console tho
@@despeckt I'm just saying I forgot BOTW is also on Wii U, I wasn't commenting on the performance.
I see almost ZERO difference between the graphics of the Wii u and the tears of the kingdom for switch.
It’s like a dlc
i hate to say it but this series is held back so much by the switch
it's hilarious that a game published by Nintendo in 2023 could probably run on the wii u
Yeah and it actually looks good tho and play good unlike games like redfall i feel like this is why Nintendo is hated and loved at same time.
Looks the same to me. Can't tell.
same. But you'll have fanboys trying to point out the slightest microscopic differences and be like "See. you're wrong"
Holy shit it's only when you watch this video how much better the draw distance and graphics are in totk
LOD looks worse though
The Same Game 2
I’m genuinely curious. What do you expect out of a sequel? Graphical improvements, map changes, gameplay changes?
@@RMFHGaming Generally a sequel gives me as much new land to explore as the old game has ontop of the old map being changed, in games where you don't there is indeed usually a total overhaul of the visuals.
That aside though, is it not possible to match the sun direction between games more accurately than this video did.
Don’t ever play any of the Yakuza games then.
first
They spent five years playing Garry's Mod and then added those mechanics into BotW and called it good lol.
Smells like a 🧌
y the hate?
@@calmv_ Just being honest, that's what it looks like. Hopefully there are a lot of surprises in store.
this mans just blatantly does not like totk because they decided to reuse hyrule and add new things to make it better than botw 💀
@@Pebphiz well, you were wrong
i know they havent shown much on purpose but im not impressed ngl also its 70 dollars when this game obviously took less effort to make than the first one since most of the groundwork had already been done. not even the graphics were improved besides render distance.
lol enjoy the $70 DLC. I will not be buying this. I will wait for the emulator.
Sure will lol. Hope it’s not a long wait for ya.
No one asked.
@@carltennesseocampo8411 lol stay mad
@@RedM-lk6fk well, let’s see who gets the last laugh when it releases
@@calmv_ It would be nice to be proven wrong, but we shall see.
