I get the impression that most of humanity had moved to other colonies. But Ripley felt that Earth was still worth saving, thus crashing the Auriga into the ocean. So there must have been "some" people left on Earth. I for one, like this ending.
Pollution, overpopulation and all the resources exploited. That means a wasteland, famine, crime, colapse of civilization and slow extinction as a result. And chance that humanity finds another planet like Earth is very low, so here in Alien universe they can only colonize unpleasant planets and moons that require decades of terraforming to be close to this shithole Earth anyway. And what about the space radiation that is deadly without proper atmosphere and magnetic field? What about the proper gravity and air pressure that matters for most living organisms? it kinda deflates the tension of them having to defeat the alien hybrid before they land on earth though. if the entire earth is destroyed anyway, it doesn't really matter if the alien makes it to the surface
Reminds me somewhat of the alternate ending to Army of Darkness as in hero ends up on wrecked Earth. This still leaves Ripley's story hanging in mid-air. Unfortunate things are now held up to 2017 or beyond and Blomkamp has dropped interest in a sequel. Ridley Scott has said any sequel will be after the sequel to Prometheus. :(
Yep, and Ripley and the crew were totally indifferent that they just had killed many millions of people. For some reason there's also no fires, smoldering ruins, ash in the air or an impact crater. I take it you're joking.
Great Special Effects, Decent Cast, Good Story, good atmosphere, It was certainly entertaining and exciting, the under water scene is awesome, i also like the charisma of the characters, the human alien in the end of the movie was great love how killed the alien queen.
Well, since Ridley Scott implied, in an interview, that the Alien universe and the Blade Runner were the same universe, this deleted scene doesn't work for me and I'm glad that it was deleted.
LOL He made so many mistakes, like the whole idea of prometheus... if you explain the space joky it ruins the mystery and ends up like... well like pormetheus. Shit.
Mark Bullen Yes, someone was talking about how we never really see Earth in the Alien series and wondering what it looked like, and he said that we've already seen at least part of the Earth from Alien in Blade Runner, and that Weyland Corp and Tyrell Corp are rivals. Shortly after that, Tyrell made it's first appearances in the Dark Horse "Aliens" and "Prometheus" comic books. From what I hear, the "Prometheus" Blu-ray confirms it 100% in the special features, I haven't seen them yet because I Own the DVD.
Because Blade Runner earth totally didn't look like a polluted mega urban environment. Seriously it was based off of a book where Earth was a radioactive shithole humanity was in the process of abandoning.
I dont know why i find that ending scene so soothing. The combination of the picture of destroyed Paris and the dwelling, romantic music makes me want to visit this future earth and discover what happened there.
i see whoever made this scene never even bothered to look at a picture or Paris, just plonk down the Eiffel Tower in generic background number 5, these CGI kids are so clueless.
dude it's how you do a destroyed city, Paris Eiffel Tower, London Elizabeth Tower. yes it's a bit lazy but you can say a lot with just a few secs of screen time that just needs to be a mat painting.
I used to read the comics and read the books (back in the 80/90s) ... I remember earth just being over developed, and run by corporations, but not a wasteland like this. Earth was still the primary seat of mankind in the comics/books, and some of the story lines involved aliens being set loose on earth.
and it just isn't Paris but all of the EU that let in refugees. There are parts that are still have humans like New Jersey, Geordie Shore, that shithole where Laura Bingle lives and other dumps. But that is because even xenomorphs have standards and no self respecting xenomorph will go near the Kardashians because they don't want to bastardise their purity and get an STD or STI.
I felt bad for the newborn. I mean yeah it was obviously a killing machine, but I couldn't help but feel bad when it was calling Ripley 'mama' while it was getting sucked out.
That's weird, I specifically remember this scene at the end of the movie. Quite clear as well, cause I found it especially intriguing as an ending on such a good science fiction film.
It was this ending which partly served as inspiration for my own personal Alien vs Predator script. Something I'm going to novelize in the coming year. I figured that there was no real future for the characters on Earth, especially with the military closing in. The prologue for my story shows the military in this setting, hunting Ripley & co. But we all know how cunning the Ripley clone was & she'd be able to hunt the hunters one by one. Something which captures the eye of the Predator race who see Ripley as a perfect candidate for their own hunting game on the Game Preserve planet from Predators. But that's just the prologue of a much bigger story involving space pirates, space marines & of course more Xenomorphs 😎
They say this was in the comics, but honestly this smells like something Sigorney Weaver thought up. The things that made her great in Aliens, being anti-gun and all, being forced to use guns, made her horrible in terms of the direction of the Aliens. Her influence is not carrying weapons, and having superpowers, which doesn't make any sense than just carrying around a pulse rifle. In truth Ripley is still sleeping and on her way home from Aliens.
@@giulyblaziken268 Hicks died, fan favorite, I think it was retconned in some comic books so him and newt lived but then somehow ran into aliens again "omg what are the odds...."
Ripley left earth ages ago. Wandered through space surviving one alien hive after another, died, got resurrected as a perfect human alien hybrid. And when she finally returns home....its not the earth she once knew.
This alternative ending is way better than what they included in the film.m and makes me want to see Alien 5. Please make it happen as long as Sigourney can still play Ripley, as Alien comes and goes with her
I remember the first time when I saw the movie when Ron Perlman said:"Earth? What a shithole". Then, when they finally arrive, actually the Earth looks great. I thought "what was that? Something must have happened here". And yes, after many decades finally, thanks to this video, that line makes sense. Thank U

@Creeps MaPasta If you have a Laserdisc player, get that movie on that specific format. I bought it just for the rarity of the original theatrical cut of that movie on Laserdisc.
As of a while ago this isn't a deleted scene. It is the ending to the director's cut edition in the blu-ray elien boxset. I was shown the director's cut first. I thought this was the legit ending... It makes sense really, as it could've been thousands or millions of years before ripley actually made it back to earth after all the hypersleep and... dying. It emphasises the point of _"what are they trying to save"_ as they have saved a planet that is dead and doesn't need saving anymore. The company is gone and the alien has been made extinct twice. The fourth film was an addition to the series that was only made because of public demand. It was supposed to be a trilogy. Which is why ripley is a clone in this film.
Myles Coyne there are plot holes in this film. But apparently work on a fifth film is underway. Because a broken 4th one after killing the protagonist wasn't enough. Oh, and ellen ripley is the protagonist again.
I heard about that. There is a theory that the new film will restart the franchise after the events of Aliens. Like Aliens 3 (redo). So there is a chance they could save it!
Howard Smith (Sigh) The wasted opportunity that was Alien 4. IF they had to bring her bk bring her bk with a Vengeance. And simply make Ripley bad, make her give up enitrely on Humanity, afterall she'd tried to save it so many times and still her greatest foe was still arnd, everyone she had ever loved had been taken from her. The scene where she goes into that room with all the failed messed up cloned experiments, that there should have been a key scene to set up and justify Ripley's ultimate change from trying to defeated the Xenos, to joining them. Al the signs were there, her behavior how she had changed and was kind of acting less human at first, the Xeno DNA in her blood, greatly increased physical strength and the Xenos themselves, accepted and embracing her as like one of their own. It was just dumb how she runs to the ship and joins that group toward the end, what Ripley should have done after leaving the nest was got in contact with the group, explained to them that she was cancelling the self-destruct and taking the ship out into space, and telling that group they have so much time to leave and head to Earth, releasing the clamps on their ship.
I swear HBO used to play this as the ending when this was out of theatres. I was a kid a and watched it a lot in 97-98. This was the ending I always thought was the true ending. I never owned or watched any physical copies of this.
I don't know about the other Alien Fan's out here but I'm personally ready for the :::: NEXT :::: installment of this Alien Franchise!!!!!! Let's DO this!!
the last two movies, a tentative date in the last quarter of 2020 or middle 2021 is most likely. However, since no one connected with the project has come out with certain news, we have to take everything with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, we hope to see Ridley Scott bringing the series back on track. Michael Fassbender as David will again lead ‘Alien: Awakening’. His journey will be pivotal here. Katherine Waterston as Daniels is also expected to feature. It will have a lot of recall value as it is expected to connect with the actual timeline. Judging by this, we can also see some original members in the mix as well. Sigourney Weaver is always ready to reprise her famous role of Ellen Ripley. Since we are still in the dark about actual development, we don’t have official announcements yet.
It actually makes sense because earlier on in the film Ron Perlman's character said Earth was a shithole, and Alien Covenant is set on a ship with thousands of humans as they look for a new planet to colonise because Earth is inhabitable.
@maw1186 Ripley never steps foot on Earth in Aliens, she goes to Gateway Station which orbits Earth. Before she gets a chance to go down to the planet she goes off on the LV-426 mission with the marines.
It is actually quite beautiful to see Ripley's clone have a better ending than the actual Ripley. At least one of them got to see some sort of hope for the future.

Winona's one note delivery and delicate sniffling sound like she's about to cry voice doesn't do it any favours either
I was watching this the other night. Excellent movie, although it was edited because it was on TV. Glad to see they kept the hybrid's guts visible.
It wasn’t the other night anymore! It was over 10 years ago. 😯
Chronologically, this is the last scene of the franchise....
i thought that army of darkness ending was the canon
"YOU MANIACS!! I... don't really get the point of this."
Huh
I take it earth looks like that because of that Manhattan-sized ship that just crashed a few scenes before, and leveled Paris.
I feel like I only ever watched half this movie because I don't remember any of that
Yep, and Ripley and the crew were totally indifferent that they just had killed many millions of people. For some reason there's also no fires, smoldering ruins, ash in the air or an impact crater.
I take it you're joking.
No if you look when it crashes it was in Central Africa from the looks of it
This is when Ron Perlman should say "War... War never changes."
We'll always have Paris.
“Let’s grow out our armpit hair and stop showering!”
Great Special Effects, Decent Cast, Good Story, good atmosphere, It was certainly entertaining and exciting, the under water scene is awesome, i also like the charisma of the characters, the human alien in the end of the movie was great love how killed the alien queen.
Shitty movie
So did Spiderman in Infinity War.
Reckon the xeno's got there first ladies.
Well, since Ridley Scott implied, in an interview, that the Alien universe and the Blade Runner were the same universe, this deleted scene doesn't work for me and I'm glad that it was deleted.
Wasn't deleted. Is the normal ending to the special edition version in the blu-ray box set available at the moment.
LOL He made so many mistakes, like the whole idea of prometheus... if you explain the space joky it ruins the mystery and ends up like... well like pormetheus. Shit.
+KlingonCaptain No way, ya mean Harrison Ford.....Blade Runner.....same universe?
“I slept too long! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggghh!”
Paris didn't look that different to me...
plot twist minus one space godzilla appears
Fallout 4 Confirmed: Setting: Paris, France
Brotherhood of Croissants inhabiting the area, using the remains of the Eiffel Tower as a Radio tower.
Fallout and Aliens take place in the same universe? Confirmed!
EuroHEV like deathclaws...only cuter
would have been better than the real f4
Wow. It's 2022 and I've never seen this before. Thanks for the upload
The way the music ended in this clip took me right back to the second hunger games movie ending.
"Earth!"
"What a shit hole."
There is another ending, here is a snippet of the dialogue:
Ripley: scissor?
Winona: I thought you never ask
i see whoever made this scene never even bothered to look at a picture or Paris, just plonk down the Eiffel Tower in generic background number 5, these CGI kids are so clueless.
dude it's how you do a destroyed city, Paris Eiffel Tower, London Elizabeth Tower. yes it's a bit lazy but you can say a lot with just a few secs of screen time that just needs to be a mat painting.
I used to read the comics and read the books (back in the 80/90s) ... I remember earth just being over developed, and run by corporations, but not a wasteland like this. Earth was still the primary seat of mankind in the comics/books, and some of the story lines involved aliens being set loose on earth.
Because the comics and books continued after Aliens where Hicks, Newt, and Ripley don't crash in the EVV like in Aliens 3.
This is now in the director's cut on DVD/Blu-ray. Alternate opening credits as well.
Abogamos por un final con Ripley y la sintética enroyánsose.
Cool scene I think the real ending works with the same dialog better but great acting and shots makes this scene work 4 out of 5 stars from me!
Wait, why is earth destroyed?
overpopulation, resource depletion, etc. humanity abandoned the earth and set about colonizing the galaxy :)
alien infestation (Comics)
and it just isn't Paris but all of the EU that let in refugees. There are parts that are still have humans like New Jersey, Geordie Shore, that shithole where Laura Bingle lives and other dumps. But that is because even xenomorphs have standards and no self respecting xenomorph will go near the Kardashians because they don't want to bastardise their purity and get an STD or STI.
weird how they can terraform other planets but not re terraform earth
a Trump presidency
I like this ending better because everyone once to know how out planet would look like when they landed.
Nunca había visto este final hasta después de 16 años gracias al.Internet
George Taylor:
"YOU MANIACS!!!
YOU BLEW IT UP!!!
AAAH, DAMN YOU!!!
GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!!" (Planet of the Apes)
Something like that perhaps
I felt bad for the newborn. I mean yeah it was obviously a killing machine, but I couldn't help but feel bad when it was calling Ripley 'mama' while it was getting sucked out.
I thought that scene was so much better than the rest of the movie for impact - almost like the hand on the doorhandle in Bridges of Madison County.
I love this movie and I love this alternate ending. Makes it even better :-)
The internet said you exist but I never believed them until now.
That's weird, I specifically remember this scene at the end of the movie. Quite clear as well, cause I found it especially intriguing as an ending on such a good science fiction film.
Little did Ripley knew the actual reason why Earth is destroyed is because The Ugly Barnacle killed everyone.
Sounds pretty cool man. Maybe if you can screenplay it to Joss or someone it might trigger their interest?
@@LandersWorkshop well if you ever hear of a film called "Aliens vs Predators:Queen Of The Jungle" you'll know I wrote it 😎
Looks like Paris went downhill after the Olympics.
But what about alien 3?
@@giulyblaziken268 Hicks died, fan favorite, I think it was retconned in some comic books so him and newt lived but then somehow ran into aliens again "omg what are the odds...."
Somebody should tell her, needs more pulse rifle.
@@andrewescocia2707 Preferable. I'd prefer it if there was a different race of aliens or space opera vibe to the Aliens franchise.
I have all the Alien DVD's (Thank you China really cheap) and this ending goes really well with the overall story.
And they lived happily ever after.
Ripley left earth ages ago. Wandered through space surviving one alien hive after another, died, got resurrected as a perfect human alien hybrid. And when she finally returns home....its not the earth she once knew.
Ironically she probably would thrive in some off-world colony somewhere.
This alternative ending is way better than what they included in the film.m and makes me want to see Alien 5. Please make it happen as long as Sigourney can still play Ripley, as Alien comes and goes with her
I think it's time for a male-lead to come in on the franchise.
It’s really weird to use the words “Alien Resurrection” and “poignant” in the same sentence :P
I remember the first time when I saw the movie when Ron Perlman said:"Earth? What a shithole". Then, when they finally arrive, actually the Earth looks great. I thought "what was that? Something must have happened here".
And yes, after many decades finally, thanks to this video, that line makes sense.
Thank U
Given it's current state in 2024, it's actually an improvement
Things are okay where I am. I've driven hundreds of miles in other directions, and everything looks fine.
The only places that look like this, are countries where Russia is running rampant, i.e. Ukraine, Syria, Mali, Sudan, etc. Yeah, yeah, "b-b-but duh Russians be duh good guys!"
XD it is no longer a deleted scene
I thought this was the actual ending...
@Creeps MaPasta If you have a Laserdisc player, get that movie on that specific format. I bought it just for the rarity of the original theatrical cut of that movie on Laserdisc.
it is the canon ending......
Howard Smith Wouldn't the space pirates be like 'Hey Ripley. Earth is gone, ya know?"
Myles Coyne let's hope so
Howard Smith (Sigh) The wasted opportunity that was Alien 4.
I noticed this ending airing also on TV.
This changed everything in the ending, so...they weren't going to live in the earth they thought they'd get to live....so tragic...
I don't know about the other Alien Fan's out here but I'm personally ready for the :::: NEXT :::: installment of this Alien Franchise!!!!!! Let's DO this!!
You mean Prometheus?
I love this ending alot better
the last two movies, a tentative date in the last quarter of 2020 or middle 2021 is most likely.
No… 20th Century Fox merged with Disney and now a show is being created
that aged well
It actually makes sense because earlier on in the film Ron Perlman's character said Earth was a shithole, and Alien Covenant is set on a ship with thousands of humans as they look for a new planet to colonise because Earth is inhabitable.
Alien Covenant takes place before Alien. In Aliens Ripley is taken back to Earth after being rescued. Its still there
@maw1186 Ripley never steps foot on Earth in Aliens, she goes to Gateway Station which orbits Earth. Before she gets a chance to go down to the planet she goes off on the LV-426 mission with the marines.
It’s almost like they had a crystal ball… Paris is starting to resemble this.
It is actually quite beautiful to see Ripley's clone have a better ending than the actual Ripley. At least one of them got to see some sort of hope for the future.
In fact Ripley did get a happy ending in Aliens. Alien 3 and this one were a bad dream.
There are two Alien movies and this isn't one of them.
This isn't canon.
Then out of nowhere bearded guy yelling "Noooo!! I slept to long!!"
"Oh god, it's worse than I thought! We landed in Paris! NOOOOOO!" Cut to black, roll credits.
