this looks cool, im just building mine. i think id use a jig and router to cut this. maybe a 1/8" 3" bit with tripple bearing to cut multiple at a shot.
I have a question that was presented by YT video suggestions on DYI blast gates after watching this video. (Thanks for that 🤣) You may have thought of this, but what happens if the blast gates get clogged and they're built into a cabinet? Would you create an access panel like for plumbing, or would you have an alternate method you could use to clear the gate?
Excellent question! The workbench is going to be on casters and have access to the space underneath in order to empty the dust collector bag and dust separator bucket 🪣. The blast gates will be in proximity to those.
LOL! Hopefully it won’t be a problem. But I think it’ll be as simple as removing the pivot bolt and pulling out the swinging gate if the need should arise. Thanks for contributing! What are you working on these days?
@@BrettsWoodshop I built a changing table for my 1st granddaughter. And my wife just had the chance to use it for the first time today. I also built a stool by Steve Ramsey, and ended up giving it to my brother for the standing desk that I built him. I've got a few more projects in the works too... maybe I should start a YT channel....
Congratulations Grandpa! What a great project for your family! Maybe you should… Let me know if you do. I’ll help you get going in the right direction.
I just released plans on my new website! The plans are for the Project shown in this video ua-cam.com/video/UrOoHZH3lL8/v-deo.html

Sounds like a good workaround.

@@BrettsWoodshop awesome! I'm glad you thought of it, because I'd probably be using a multi tool later when the problem presented itself... :D
