On this day we visited the Spa Valley Railway. While on our way home at Tunbridge Wells Central station about 1830, waiting for our train back to Waterloo East, I said to my mate "I keep expecting a Hastings unit to pop out of that tunnel at any moment". Little did we know, that if we had been just a bit later, it would have!!
Ah shame you missed it, I won’t lie whenever I’m waiting at a station I’m always willing it to come around the corner even when I know it won’t. The train will be running again in a couple of weeks time on August the 7th so there’s your next chance. Hope it was a good day at the Spa Valley regardless.
A much loved trainset. Hiring it for a wedding - what a lovely idea! Made me wonder if the happy couple were daily commuters who had met on a New Eltham to Cannon Street service
@@philsmith132 It’s a tribute to a livery that only one or two units had for a couple of years. Not many people are likely to remember it as it was very short lived.

Indeed, only one of its kind too.

It certainly is a nice idea. It’s possible, I believe the bride used to work on the railway possibly for Network Rail but I’m not too sure.
Damn, I missed seeing this - would’ve passed within a mile of me yesterday 😫
It’s good to have it back, it’ll be making a couple of trips to Tonbridge and back on the 7th of August so you have another chance to see it.
@@thetrainspott3r Excellent! Thanks for the heads up
