Me too dude, I only started to properly appreciate diesels in the last few years. Steam has always been the favourite for me.

Shame all trains can't be replaced by steam that would cost millions though

Thanks, glad you had fun. This one was an absolute rollercoaster for me because the services were a right mess. As you saw it got quite close at Pevensey & Westham. Shame 201’s no longer being preserved though.

@@thetrainspott3r i’m gutted about that too - with the affection people have for Big Blue, I’m surprised nobody has stepped in to prevent her from being scrapped

Preservation isn’t easy. I thought I heard something about the NRM considering one of the other 313s though?

@@thetrainspott3r they had originally had their eye on 201 but now allegedly want 121 but they aren’t committing to it. Preservation can de difficult but even preserving as a static exhibit or as a loco hauled set would be preferable ti having none at all.

Agreed, part of my motive for filming this tour was to see 201 in action one last time before becoming a museum piece. Another reason is I made the Sussex rambler headboard (humble brag).

Hey thanks, I was at Eastbourne briefly on my journey to West St Leonards, would’ve liked to get a shot of it there but it had already moved. This video came out almost exactly how I wanted it so I’m glad you enjoyed it.

@@thetrainspott3r sadly there were a lot of inconsiderate spotters at Eastbourne - still, I’m ok with the footage I got in the end but it could have been better

It’ll be leaving Hastings at around 8:13 and will be travelling to Portsmouth Harbour via Tonbridge, Redhill and Chichester.
