Amazing choice and really insightful reaction! Would love to see more Aphex Twin, whether it's more ambient works like this or the more constructed/arranged tracks that range from beautiful and melancholic, to downright disturbing!
I like how you don’t necessarily follow reviewer trends. It could be the new Carti one day, old Nas the next, and some wildcard Cocteau Twins or Aphex Twin. And everything you get into, I see surface songs and deeper ones as well. Keep being the most versatile reaction group.🎉 Dad always is sharp with the analysis but Kai is the boss of this operation.
For real, dropping some AFX for Dad was a good change of pace. If they do any others from this album, it should be one of the darker ones, like #10 (Tree) or the last track (Matchsticks)
Liked your guys' thoughts on it. It is very contemplative (I typed that just as you said it allows you to contemplate). For me it stirs up feelings that words fail to fully express, but basically "life is utterly bizarre and confusing and bittersweet...but everything will be ok, try to relax and enjoy it and appreciate the love surrounding you before it's all over". Utterly fascinating how a piece without lyrics can stir up similar thoughts and emotions in so many disparate people huh.
Loved this! I've been listening to Aphex Twin since I was a kid. It would be really cool if you showed your father "4" from Richard D. James Album, it's my favorite tracks of his.
Very pleasantly surprised with this reaction, Im a huge electronic music fan. Stone in Focus is my favorite one from this album. "Carbon Based Lifeforms" is another great artist similar to this style.
This album was a must in the 90s when coming down on Sunday after a crazy psychedelic weekend of rave parties in Sweden. His Selected Ambient Works 85-92 album is also phenomenal. But all you need is an open mind, goods headphones and preferably a dark room when listening to to this and let your mind just go
I've also always gotten death from this song. It's profoundly sad in a way I've never heard in any other song. In a strange way it's one of the greatest songs ever made imo.
Very much in the Trip-Hop space. If interested check out Moth Equals (Border, Heavens Opened and Closed, Honey Trap). Just an absolute master. Great review!
Cool unexpected choice guys! edit: now I'd like to see dad respond to Windowlicker. Or even better Chris Pennie do Come to Daddy with not a single bar the same drums. Insane.
You should both also listen to Sekonda by Aphex Twin, its a bonus track added to the warp store for ...I Care Because You Do, and its available only on UA-cam and the Warp Store and other random places
Hey, firstly thanks for the awesome videos you put out, it’s great to see a different take on the music reaction genre. Few suggestions to explore: - Tupac: Do for love or It Ain’t Easy - Logic: Open Mic/ Aquarius iii - Wycliffe Jean: Gone Till November - Goo Goo Dolls: Iris
Great video. Love watching you guys. I just have a suggestion for an 'Ambient' song you and your pops might want to check out. "Radio Right Now" by Felix Laband. Along with "#3" by Aphex Twin and something from Boards Of Canada such as "In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country", I'd consider it one of the greatest 'Ambient' songs ever made. It's incredible.
Songs like this remind me of all the times great pain was quickly followed by extreme joy atm I’m mourning those times bc I’m not as young as I was then. Some songs that make me feel like that are acid rain by lorn, Alberto balsam by aphex twin or reaper by Corbin or Jeanette by Kelly Lee Owen’s
I would love to see you cover some Chicano Artists like Kid Frost - I’m still here , lil rob no soy de ti , brown side rest in peace !! Please would be so awesome to see your take and your dads take on some Chicano culture
thank you for this, i love aphex twin. i recently watched your mos def video where you guys mentioned busta rhymes and a tribe. i would love it if you could react to one of their songs or albums!
I would be laughing too showing songs from Aphex to someone. I'm used to them, experimental and ambient music, because is my favorite genre, but I know you need pacience to listen to them, and we live in a world where living calmly and patiently is really difficult for people. This video made me realize that I would have a gift from the Universe if I could listen this type of music with someone who can feel it like I do.
Nice vid! Always lovely to see people listen to aphex for the first time :) If you want to do another track from him I'd recommend something from Drukqs album. Probably the most far off from this in all of his work. Say Mt Saint Michel or Ziggomatic 17.
I recommend autechre as well. Used to work in the building game around the Manchester area with them decades ago. They thought we all considered them to be either gay or weird. To me they were just two guys making a living.
Song reaction Recommendations, I haven't seen Polo G on the channel yet and I'm curious to see if pops would like his style of music his album Die A Legend is one of my favorite albums. Polo G - Last strike Polo G - BST Polo G - Wishing For a Hero Polo G - 21 Polo G - Many Men Polo G - Dying Breed Polo G - Finer Things
react to deeper by Boss ! I feel like y’all would really enjoy the song and the message behind it !! other suggestions: thug luv tupac and bone thugs, TLC no scrubs video, jodeci come and talk to me, tupac so many tears
Aphex Twin actually sampled Pink Floyd before in a song simply called Pink Floyd, however he apparently doesnt really care for them all that much, and Aphex Twin has also worked with Philip Glass before
Dad was so patient waiting for some bars lol
lol
If I ever have kids, I want them to trust me with this kind of emotionally vulnerable music
Your Dad is a very pure soul. You two are a lovely pair. Thanks for the great videos.
Now it’s time for Boards of canada!
Or Nosaj Thing!
100%
some Sasha - Airdrawndagger or KOZE
BOC is next in the aphex twin pipeline lol
I'll let you into a very well kept secret. RDJ IS BoC, with some front guys pressing a play button.
This song is so epic ! feels like you found a new place, hard to explane.
Amazing choice and really insightful reaction! Would love to see more Aphex Twin, whether it's more ambient works like this or the more constructed/arranged tracks that range from beautiful and melancholic, to downright disturbing!

Appreciate you being quiet and not interrupting much and encouraging dad to do the same. It deserves reverence.
Liked your guys' thoughts on it. It is very contemplative (I typed that just as you said it allows you to contemplate). I love that you guys did Aphex twin!!!
OMG #3 is my favorite song by Aphex Twin. Great choice! Give dad some Prodigy next if you haven't already!
Sorry ONE of my favorite songs. You HAVE to play Xtal for him. THAT'S my real #1.
@@RockyVegaTVstone in focus 🔛🔝
A reaction to #20/Lichen from the same album would be great too! My personal favorite
Very Underrated
If you guys are looking for more ambient music I’d totally recommend Chihei Hatakeyama. Beautiful sounds.
thank you for the recommendation!
just added them to playlist ❤
Loved this! I've been listening to Aphex Twin since I was a kid. It would be really cool if you showed your father "4" from Richard D. James Album, it's my favorite tracks of his.
Stoked for this one!
Ok your Dad is wearing a Tupac tee (already checked those reactions a while ago) and now listening to Aphex Twin. Excellent artist choices.
I wish my dad was here to listen to afx with me. You're so lucky bro. This was a pleasure to watch.
I think your dad was spot on with his interpretation
Very pleasantly surprised with this reaction, Im a huge electronic music fan. Stone in Focus is my favorite one from this album. "Carbon Based Lifeforms" is another great artist similar to this style.

Dad needs to listen to some Brian Eno 😊
Need more Aphex Twin, an entire album would be sick
I've also always gotten death from this song. It's profoundly sad in a way I've never heard in any other song. In a strange way it's one of the greatest songs ever made imo.
Please show some music video's of aphex twin to your dad! Like 'windowlicker' or 'Come to daddy'
Amazing album!!
listening to ur dad describe his imaginary view of the song actually gave me shivers. keep up the great work.
Insane.
Phenomenal album!
This track is also unofficially titled "Rhubarb".
Would love you both to react to track #1 ("Cliffs").
#13 #24 from the same album would be epic
Or Mt Saint Michel + Saint Michaels Mount from druqs. That one is insane
it feels like in the 90s on the weekends..
DAMN YEAHH!!!! I'M GLAD SUCH VIDEO EXISTS!!!
You should both also listen to Sekonda by Aphex Twin, its a bonus track added to the warp store for ...I Care Because You Do, and its available only on UA-cam and the Warp Store and other random places
One of his best tracks and it didn't show up until he released the soundcloud trove. Musical genius.
It's crazy that Aphex Twin is an ambient innovator considering how well he's known for breakbeat and other songs
More electronic ambient please! Carbon Based Lifeforms - "Frog" would be a good one
Great time :) You should definitely do a listen of Either/Or, classic album and so beautiful.
Aphex twin is a legend :)
I listened to them a lot in college. Aphex Twin is awesome but not nearly as awesome as pops in a Pac shirt
Hey, firstly thanks for the awesome videos you put out, it’s great to see a different take on the music reaction genre.
Few suggestions to explore:
- Tupac: Do for love or It Ain’t Easy
- Logic: Open Mic/ Aquarius iii
- Wycliffe Jean: Gone Till November
- Goo Goo Dolls: Iris
So real for not cutting during the reaction.
✌
The aphex twin logo is one of the best running gags, so many people don't know what it is.
atsma inhaler, designed for warp...
Gotta play some of that Aphex Acid from Drukqs next! ‘Mt Saint Michel + Saint Michaels Mount’
Great video. Love watching you guys. I just have a suggestion for an 'Ambient' song you and your pops might want to check out. "Radio Right Now" by Felix Laband.

Get him to react to one of his later drill n’ bass tracks 😁
thank you for this, i love aphex twin. i recently watched your mos def video where you guys mentioned busta rhymes and a tribe. i would love it if you could react to one of their songs or albums!
❤️

ANDY STOTT AND STOTT ANDY STOTT. PLEASE. I'd love to see a reaction to Andy Stott.
Love the ambient reactions, you don’t see many of them on UA-cam. I recommend Tim Hecker
I would recommend Brian Eno's Apollo album and the track An Ending (Ascent).
There's definitely time signatures there.
kruder & Dorfmeister - K&D Sessions
Also check out: Steve Roach - Structures from Silence
Most feeling inducing song i came across is number 3 , flim , avril 14, and lichen
the dj screw poster goes hard
watch KOYAANISQATSI with ur dad bro. its a similarly existential experience to this. philip glass composed the soundtrack for it as well
Highly recommend 5.7.78 by Boards of Canada
You should really listen to Alberto Balsam by Aphex Twin!
Nice vid! Always lovely to see people listen to aphex for the first time :) If you want to do another track from him I'd recommend something from Drukqs album. Probably the most far off from this in all of his work. Say Mt Saint Michel or Ziggomatic 17.
Avril 21st and Alberto Balsam would be cool
Krobak - It's Snowing Like It's the End of the World or April Rain - One Is Glad to Be of Service :)
saw Aphex Twin at Warehouse project manchester. Class act, though i would take 'garry's'
Yeah maybe the next track should showcase his other side…something hard and heavy. Many Digeridoo or a track of his Xylem Tube EP from 1992.
RDJ is a Monolote in Electronic Music , unique and timeless artist ! Peace !
Now you gotta react to Hollow Be Thy Squad since Xavier sampled this lol
It would be so great to watch dad react to DESPERADO OUTLAWS -till my casket drops by C-BO
Omg im suprise ur dad hasn't heard of aphex twin when aphex twin was like around his time i think
Now play him "Bucephalus Bouncing Ball" and try and explain it's from the same artist. 😄
I’d be interested to see his reaction to QKThor/Penty Harmonium.
I recommend autechre as well. Used to work in the building game around the Manchester area with them decades ago. They thought we all considered them to be either gay or weird. To me they were just two guys making a living.

Polo G - Last strike
Polo G - BST
Polo G - Wishing For a Hero
Polo G - 21
Polo G - Many Men
Polo G - Dying Breed
Polo G - Finer Things
react to deeper by Boss ! I feel like y’all would really enjoy the song and the message behind it !! other suggestions: thug luv tupac and bone thugs, TLC no scrubs video, jodeci come and talk to me, tupac so many tears
You should do Windowlicker next, with the video
React to the Disintegration Loops 🤣
The cover is suitcase with his logo on it
u guys now free. ty
Aphex Twin actually sampled Pink Floyd before in a song simply called Pink Floyd, however he apparently doesnt really care for them all that much, and Aphex Twin has also worked with Philip Glass before
You guys should do ‘Blessings - Lecrae ft. Ty Dolla Sign’
your dad seems cool as shit
wait till he hears drukqs
is this a kill tony reference?
Greatest artist of all time
show him mt saint michel next, total opposite of this, while not being the extreme of aphex twins' works
Play him ziggomatic!
Clicked on this video because of William Montgomery 😅
I mean, you HAVE to watchbthe Come to Daddy video. Lol but if this song tickles your fancy, do check out INNER-CITY LIFE BY GOLDIE.
Pops is about to fall asleep 😂 sht so am i to be honest
L
Eminem - role model reaction such a good song sure your dad will like it
I'm surprised you haven't shown Harry Mack's Omegle Bars yet. Otherwise, his last song "I Ain't Gotta Worry". Like your reactions.
Perfect for a day on mushrooms
I thought this song was named Rhubarb?
that’s the unofficial name
@@PS-lv1mrIt kind of is because on his SoundCloud he uploaded the orchestrated version of it under the name Rhubarb
See how your dad reacts to Current Value lol
I thought it was about life. Then you say its about death.. haha
Definitely open to multiple interpretations. Thanks for watching. (dad)
Ascension. 100 %
sadn
T shirt from dad. 🫡🫡👍✅
pink floyd was the aphex twin of their time at least when syd was still around
Gotta hear me more Aphex Twin then, for sure! Thanks for watching. (dad)
