His ability to drive and finish at the hoop was what I liked the most about him. The guy was 6’8” 240 and had excellent speed and strength. Who does that sound similar to? Just in that one aspect.
There where so many great one on one players in the 90s but that shit didn't matter if you didn't have a team. Now in days Mash would be a legend in this weak as league
As a kid from Dallas who loved basketball, he was a guy I looked up to and admired for his style and ability. I took some flack recently for implying he was something of a predecessor to LeBron James. As I watch these highlights, I stand by my statement as an observer. I never said he was as good as LeBron. I was only saying his size and game was similar. Am I that far off-base?
I loved watching him when he was at Kentucky… Every time he came out on the court they played the monster mash everybody lost it and loved him….he was so fun to watch
Mash giving buckets to pippen and rodman like it's nothing. Them thinking they could guard bron is silly. Mash was as big, a little less athletic and had a more consistent jumper than bron and gave those dudes crazy work!
Jamal’s game reminds me of Lebron’s but to me Mal’a is even more fluid. Marketing is amazing isn’t it? I don’t think Mash is on anybody’s list noting him as a great player.
Man I miss Mashburn in Dallas I really think him and Micheal Finley would've been a dope duo in Dallas alongside Steve Nash that would have been a high caliber team back then.
you make sense and they kept dirk nowitzki and i heard there was conflict between jim jackson and jason kidd about who was seeing toni braxton who's still got an attractive face NOT EQUAL to FIVE NON famous females who've LITERALLY always had and still have REALLY attractive faces that worked with me at victoria's secret
TWO FAMOUS females that i did do and will really really LOVE who've LITERALLY always had and really really GREAT looking model/movie star faces to go along with their current vegan and former 80% vegetarian diet are alicia silverstone and denise richards
these really really and really STRONG interests/hobbies still go in this EXACT order #1 denise richards #2 alicia silverstone #3 working at victoria's secret #4 you tube and #5 shopping at victoria's secret
I came here after KG + PP podcast. anyone ?
Had to check him out lol
We are all interconnected cause I'm here cause kG podcast too
Hahaha literally SAMEEEE
Yep, checking the Mashburn crossover
Yup🤣🤣🤣
6'8, 240 and had handles, spin moves, a fadeaway, hezzo, and cross
The Monster Mash was a beast before the injuries. He could do it all on the offensive side of the ball. Truly a player before his time.
Yep
Elite post game!
About time that someone come up with a legit Mashburn's highlights clip...
Good job!!!
He was the real deal...
Great all around offensive games. Off the dribble, in the post, drive, 3 point…had it all.
Too bad kidd and him couldn’t get along in Dallas. 🤷🏻♂️

@@AndrewAguirre1 🤔 I thought the main issue was with kidd and Jackson
Zion should adapt some of Jamal's game.
Could have been the best SF
It’s crazy he played the rest of his career on one leg
My all time favorite player. Dude had a killer crossover
There where so many great one on one players in the 90s but that shit didn't matter if you didn't have a team. Now in days Mash would be a legend in this weak as league
My favorite all time player.! Ty for these highlights . Which many I hadn’t seen.
Was listening to him on JJ’s podcast and had to come reminisce a little
Could make a 5 minute vid of just Mashburn giving Pippen CRAZY work!
Poetry in motion. One of my all time favorite players. So fluid.
Mash is my favorite all-time player, for sure

Best fadeaway outside of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan
Word
Idk man. Kg baseline fadeaway is prob the best.
@@jayels3036I agree Kgs post fade was phenomenal
@@Uberstribhahahaha KG?
Seriously
Meanwhile, Dirk Nowitzki exists.
@@agayactornamedmichaeldougl6289 Dirk used his more, Kgs was better in my opinion, but you have yours as well
If not for injuries Mashburn was a real problem for SFs and some PFs at 6-8 247
He did the Mash....He did the Monster Mash...The Monster Mash! Dude was a matchup nightmare.
Great 1 on 1 player. Used to love watching him go to work.
He didn't really play up to his potential with the Heat
I loved watching him when he was at Kentucky… Every time he came out on the court they played the monster mash everybody lost it and loved him….he was so fun to watch
Daaaaaam those spin moves on Spree are perfect
Mash giving buckets to pippen and rodman like it's nothing. Them thinking they could guard bron is silly. Mash was as big, a little less athletic and had a more consistent jumper than bron and gave those dudes crazy work!
Monster Mash!
Controlled, methodical 90's mid-range master, jumper over either shoulder and utilized the backboard. Awesome.
Ross rap is trash I really can't stand that corny dude talking about the same corny lyrics garbage 🗑️ forever
Hes awful
Perfectly suited to today's game
He dribble maybe 2 or 3 dribbles and get to his spot
Man I just knew he was gna be the future of the NBA when he got there. Injuries steal so many talents from us
Mashburn was a "mini Shaq"
23 years old, first time watching Washburn film, and this is incredible.
same
Just be glad y'all got Luka.
Reminds of Melo
everything abiut this video screams 2010s youtube. Fire
Who in the hell chose this song to these highlights? 🤦🏾♂️ just ruined it 😤
Better than lebron
His game reminds me of Benard King the way he picks his spots on the court. His post game and crossover pull up was immaculate!
Reminds me a lot of Siakam’s offensive game. Mash had quicker, tighter handles though
Yoooo why am I just finding Monster Mash????? 🔥
Kentucky Wildcat Got to League never looked Back. Was A Beast
Jamal’s game reminds me of Lebron’s but to me Mal’a is even more fluid. Marketing is amazing isn’t it? I don’t think Mash is on anybody’s list noting him as a great player.
The Monster mash. Great player. I hope he enjoyed playing - never saw him smile much.
I wish I could find some of his College highlights back at Kentucky...
very big and gifted 90s basketball was crazy and the fact he can cross u over
He sealed you off with the spin move for a lay. Then bait and switch to the fade away. Very Jordan like.
THE MONSTER MASH
The heat should have paid Mashburn his money. He was great there
Used to love this dude. I couldn't get his jersey anywhere so I had to get it custom. Same with Baron Davis
It’s crazy cause this is how Kawhi plays and they about the same size
Sprewell cant guard him😮
Giving Pippen that work.😂😂😂
so fluid player
Him and Kobe should've teamed up
dude played on a wrong era .. he's a star if he played today
0:37 lol look at how many steps he took, he can travel all over the world for sure
0ne of HarLem WorLd's BesT
He is very good on finding space
Another one of those plumbers
Its giving kawhi 💀🤣🤣
Whats up with music tho
Damn, mash was nice with it
Man I miss Mashburn in Dallas I really think him and Micheal Finley would've been a dope duo in Dallas alongside Steve Nash that would have been a high caliber team back then.
Damn, I forgot how good Mash was. Incredible.
Mashburn was so money I'm watching these highlights and thinking I didn't even realize how unathletic he was when I was younger lol
I love him to death, but Kukoc used to get ABUSED my mash
Jason Jimmy Jamal
killing Pippen
Kinda reminiscent to Jimmy Butler
came from russillos pod, great guest
LeBron before LeBron
LeBron is more grant hill and Scottie Pippen and Karl Malone when it comes to body frame
Song?
You the Boss by Rick Ross featuring Nicki Minaj
He did the moooonsta maashhh….
UNDERRATED
great player
Monster Mash!
Brooklyn
goat
This is who Zion Williamson you should emulate.
I agree
Underrated
I had the pleasure of playing against him AAU and he was A pro! And like I keep saying you drop him into days game he’s average 25- 26 points a night
It's a shame he only made the all-star game once in his career. He was like a poor man's Lebron back in the day
JUST Not as athletic
please tell me why did the mavs trade jamal mashburn in 97
I want to know also, and yes I will google after lol seems like mavs love trading their elite players lol

Paul Pierce and mashburn are similar in terms of playing style
Reminds me of Iso Joe Johnson too
