Dylan, my biggest pro is the cost and comfort of this pack. The biggest con is the water bladder hole and the upper side pockets without a drain hole. I do use the zipper more than I thought I would, but I do believe that the zipper is a potential problem in the field when it fails. Happy Hiking

Five feet of shrink tube will eliminate the squeaking, and because there is no adhesives involve with the shrink tube, it will wear down, move, or leave any sticky residue like tape will. My shaddowlight is virtually silent now.
That's a great idea, I hadn't considered heat shrink! Fortunately the teflon tape doesn't leave a sticky residue either, but not quite as robust as I would've hoped, even though it was a thicker teflon tape. I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks for the comment!
Yeah it's honestly a little bizarre to me considering so much thought went into the features of this pack. It wouldn't have taken much extra to make a little covering for that hole. Thanks for the comment

Sad to hear about the hole. Smart companies will put a flat over the hole of waterproof fabric sealed on three sides.
