I've been using this backpack for about 5 months and I can say that it is really good, although it took me some time to learn how to cleverly use the main and secondary compartments together. I really dig the design, the zipper system and that the backpack is 100% waterproof, it has proved itself splendidly against really heavy rains which are common in the region where I live. A few minor flaws that I've noticed: 1) straps tend to loosen all the time 2) if backpack is not full and you put a water bottle in the water bottle compartment, you can feel the imbalance while on the go. 3) the material on the inside could be less rough.

I bought both the white and black version of this bag to compare them and the black version has the YKK aqua guard zippers while the white one does NOT. I can't find this listed on Matador's website which is surprising since it is essentially false advertising. They both cost the same price too. I also haven't seen a single reviewer mention this discrepancy, probably because they were never sent the white version, so I am leaving this comment on a few of the larger travel gear review UA-cam channels. Otherwise, both the black and white version of the SEG28 are great quality.

This review sold me on the bag more than I expected. The organization looks practical and the harness seems comfortable. My only gripe would be how the bag sags when empty, but that’s probably also a function of the materials being light. Thanks for the review!

I’ve used this bag for a month now and I actually don’t see this pack sagging so much.
The fabric is not super loose and holds more shape than you would think for how light it is. Even then, it’s most probable for it to happen when the bag is not completely packed out.
The best way to adjust to that is to pack the majority of your items from the bottom segment, up. The weight of the items brings the bag down and the top part of the bag is shaped by the tension of the weight.

Thanks for reviewing this backpack! I'm considering this for one-bagging as a personal item. How big does the bag get when fully packed? I worry that it is larger than 28L...Would it fit under the airplane seat in a pinch?

I recently had I small puncture in the upper pocket, about the size of a grain of quinoa but I can see it fraying and getting bigger. Does anybody know a quick easy way to fix this?

What a bizarre layout choice. Segmented and main compartments seem overly redundant with each other and do it at the cost of a proper admin panel for your tech. Props to Matador for trying something different but I can't say I'm sold on this concept.

They should have segmented the inside back section instead. Then have smaller pockets on the outside. Who wants to flop the heavier section around?
