Gold Lake.... Some really good stuff up there. Greagle, north of the Yuba river.... Still close to you. Didn't burn in last years Dixie fire. One of the only unburned Sierra areas left.
@@4WDAdventureCrew Sweet I hope so because many facebook "Experts" are saying its closed :P Maybe they just don't want to share the fun trails with others!!
They open it up on April 1st, but if snow is high it might be closed only way to know for sure is to drive out, if it’s closed go up through Washington town
Bowman was extremely empty last year, I was able to get across the dry bed and camp right where Canyon Creek spills in. Hope it fills up more with the snow melt.
Another great video Voss! Your editing and photography is top notch.I don't understand why you dont have 300,000 subscribers yet? Shout out to Alex, he's always there with your adventures and is more challenged with that big heavy Ram but makes it through no matter what!
Oh yeah, we are the 2 rigs left from original crew others have left the State of California so we will be the two main rigs in videos from now on. and we will invite other to join us on out cool trips like this.
Question. I see lot of videos of folks snow wheeling but never see many use tire chains. In my limited experience I learned on a hunting trip they make world of difference.
The reason we don’t use chains i because we have big tires that we deflate down to 5-10 psi and we get traction that way, on deep snow chains will only dig snow not float on top of it, chains only will help on icy roads
The guy standing on the tree with his hand in his pockets ,while the gladiator rolled over it took a big risk. He's lucky that log didn't roll over and dump him on his head
I like how Dramatic you are lol, the guys didn't stand on tree, and that tree was not going to roll if you have seen how massive it was at end of gladiator driving over it. but thanks for watching.
Summer time it’s just regular dirt roads but in winter it’s HELL, plus I think it goes by some private property’s and in that area I don’t want to get shot
On another note, I’ve been very eager to explore the 11 Pines road this snow season. Looks like all the snow has melted there already. You guys didn’t happen to pass by during your travels in El Dorado NF?
cool job to overcome these huge washouts, pal ! Your XJ always greatly performs and make it on those narrow and muddy tracks - by the way, how's your exchange engine running ?
The Engine is a a beast I scored one those built motors, all 4.0s have compression of around 155 but my motor has 185psi so that tells me it’s not stock, and it pulls really nice with my 37s and 5.38 gears. So yes I love it!
@@4WDAdventureCrew I'm thinking about doing this drive this weekend . I'm familiar with the drive and have been to Bowman before but I'm worried about getting stuck in that snow. I recently added a winch to my rig so this may be my chance to use it. I'm guessing a bunch of that snow has melted in past week or so that this was filmed
@@4WDAdventureCrew yes but you were there mid March in your video. And it is up to the individual to know closures regardless of what way you come through
The guy that closes the road leaves that snowbank and sign on HWY 20 side up longer then its supposed to be. The snow is melting lots of bare ground everywhere they were totally fine to go wheeling back there.

Nice job looks like fun. I am heading up towards Bowman Lake from the HWY 20 entrance this weekend!

Just gained a subscriber. Hello from north Idaho
Hey hey thanks, my crew is also in Priest River area
Awesome, I'm part of the crew that moved to Priest River. Any suggestions on where I can wheel on my jeep?
XJ = This is a cake walk
4runner = I will finesse this
Gladiator = Hold my hand
Ram = HULK SMASH! ...halp
Nice I love that!

Yeah on that trip we did go up Gaston

Yeah plus we made a nice path and it has plenty of trees to winch from, just watch out for snow bridges, don’t fall in might be deep holes
What route did you take to get all the way to Bowman Lake?
From Washington up Gaston road and meadow lake road to bowman lake
Just fyi bowman road to 20 was closed to wheeled vehicles when you were on it. The closure sign is behind you at the end of the video.
I know that, but it’s normally open on April 1st. We came up from bowman from that side there is no signs that road is closed

Dang that’s scary going around that tree. Don’t you guys bring chainsaws?
we do, it was not that bad for few of us but long rigs had bit problem but it was just a little obstacle
Bringing a big heavy diesel truck out in the snow... Not a good idea. ALMOST rolled it too.
